E-rickshaw driver gets scolded by ‘singing policeman'; netizens react: ‘Kumar Sanu jab inspector ban jaaye'

In a heartwarming display of community policing, a video of Madhya Pradesh policeman Bhagwat Prasad Pandey singing his way through a traffic warning has taken the internet by storm. Instead of stern words or a fine, Pandey chose music and his melodious voice to remind an e-rickshaw driver about traffic safety, and the result was equal parts amusing and impactful.
The video shows Pandey pulling over an e-autorickshaw driver who was operating his vehicle without a windshield. But instead of lashing out, the policeman crooned his message, using lyrics to the tune of the popular song 'Humko Sirf Tumse Pyar Hai'.
'Chacha, sheesha kyun nahi laga? Ek mahine mein teen baar hum tumko yeh bata chuke hain, chacha sun lo tum (Uncle, why haven't you put the windshield yet? I've reminded you three times this past month, please listen)', Pandey sang with a playful smile.
The e-rickshaw driver, clearly embarrassed but also amused, could be seen grinning as he stood beside his vehicle, which had only a flimsy plastic sheet in place of proper glass. Pandey then turned to a bystander and joked, 'Main chashma laga loon, mere aansu nikal jaayenge, logon ko dikh jaayenge' (Let me wear my glasses, or else my tears will show and people will see them), drawing laughter all around. He added, 'I've told him three times this month. Chacha just won't listen. We'll get it fixed – if there's any issue, let us know.'

The video, originally posted on Pandey's Instagram account where he has over 3.7 lakh followers, received more than eight lakh views and quickly spread beyond his page. In a follow-up clip, he continued his light-hearted rebuke, this time placing a garland on the driver as a mock tribute to his refusal to fix the windshield.
'He couldn't make the 120-km journey to Gwalior to get the glass,' Pandey explained, turning to the camera with a warning: 'He's using a plastic sheet instead. I urge everyone, please don't use such jugaad (makeshift) solutions. It gets very risky, especially during rain.'

Viewers flooded the comments with admiration, not just for Pandey's voice, but for his tact and warmth. One person wrote, 'This was the sweetest thing I saw on my feed today, which was full of people fighting over language, gender and what not!' Another added, 'You & your behavior must be taught in the police training institutes pan India. Police majority of it, really lacks basic civic sense.'
Someone else chimed in, calling it a 'Villain entry mein hero waala kaam' (A heroic act in a villain-style entry). Another user wrote fondly, 'There are such sweet 'polite officers' in our country… and your voice sounds just like Kumar Sanu's. Hats off to you, Respected Sir.'
