Coronation Street's Lisa Swain actor drops huge hint over Swarla wedding
Coronation Street fans are desperate for Lisa Swain and Carla Connor to tie the knot - and actress Vicky Myers addressed the possibility during an interview on This Morning
It's the question on every Coronation Street fan's mind - are Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain ever going to tie the knot? The couple have fast become the soaps most loved pairing, with Vicky Myers and Alison King awarded a nomination for Best On-Screen Partnership during this year's British Soap Awards.
This week, This Morning 's Sharon Marshall has been touring soap sets across the country, and today she stopped off in Weatherfield to chat to Vicky Myers and Calum Lil, who played Joel Deering until his character's death earlier this year.
Giving the fans what they want, Sharon was quick to ask Vicky whether a Swarla wedding would be on the cards anytime soon. In recent episodes, Lisa proposed to Carla after a difficult day in Weatherfield following news of PC Craig Tinker's death at the hands of villain Mick Michaelis.
While grieving the death of Craig at home, told Carla: "Why do we put off things we really want cos we think there's more time?" Telling Carla there wasn't always more time, she shared how both Craig and her former wife Becky would have had no idea that their time would run out.
Lisa then asked Carla to marry her, and although Carla didn't say yes, she didn't say no either. She told Lisa it will happen one day (in Ibizia), just not yet. The couple made their relationship official around Christmas time meaning they've only been together around six months.
Desperate to know what's next for the couple, soap expert Sharon Marshall asked Vicky: "There was a proposal. She didn't say no, but she didn't exactly say yes. Is there a wedding coming up?"
Vicky, who didn't shut down the possibility responded: "It's definitely love. For Lisa definitely, Carla's her soulmate. I think it would be very nice if we all packed our bags and went to Ibiza what do you think?"
Of course, Sharon was down for the trip, as was Calum Lill, however, it may prove quite difficult seeing as his character Joel Deering is long gone.
Following his exit, Calum is up for Best Villain during the British Soap Awards, as he goes up against Navin Chowdhry (Nish Panesar, EastEnders), Ned Porteous (Joe Tate, Emmerdale) and Tyler Conti (Abe Fielding, Hollyoaks).

Orlando Bloom wants to ‘get the band back together' for Pirates Of The Caribbean
The 48-year-old, who plays Will Turner in the Disney film franchise, told ITV's This Morning there is a chance the cast could reunite for a new instalment. Asked if more Pirates Of The Caribbean features are possible, he said: 'Well, I don't know, I can't say anything at the moment because I really don't know, but there's definitely availability. 'I think they're trying to work out what it would all look like, I personally think it'd be great to get the band back together, that would be great, but there are always different ideas, and so we'll see where it lands.' Bloom also spoke about his latest film Deep Cover, which will be released on June 12, saying he took inspiration from Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher when constructing his character. A post shared by This Morning (@thismorning) The Kent-born actor said: 'When I read in the script that (his character) was a northern I was like, 'who's the iconic northerner that I know?'. 'Growing up I went to Knebworth and seeing Liam and the boys, the whole band, but Liam, he's just got that swag, hasn't he? 'I thought if I can get even close to that, I'd have a lot of fun trying, and it sort of lent itself, and I kind of imagined that (he) was sort of this desperate, out of work actor, maybe he worked at like a costume house or something. 'So he'd get really into the costume and what he was wearing, and the Liam look and everything, so it was a really great way into the character, and I had a lot of fun with it.' The Pirates Of The Caribbean series has seen five feature films: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (2003); Dead Man's Chest (2006); At World's End (2007); On Stranger Tides (2011); and Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017); along with the short film Pirates Of The Caribbean: Tales Of The Code: Wedlocked (2011). The series is based on the Disneyland attraction of the same name, and follows the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp. It has also spawned a number of video games.

Coronation Street legend ‘confirms' Emmerdale crossover role
Jack P Shepherd who has played the iconic character of mischievous David Platt since 2000 has teased he could be taking part in the Corrie and Emmerdale special. The Celebrity Big Brother winner appears to be the first soap star to "confirm" their involvement in the one-hour segment, announced by ITV last month. When catching up with Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards recently, Jack let slip the exciting news on the red carpet. When the actor was asked if he will be involved in the 'unprecedented' episode, which will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre, he 'confidently' replied: "Yes!" But Jack's Weatherfield co-star Ben Price (David's brother Nick Tilsley), interrupted: "Are you meant to say that?" Jack responded: "I don't know!" Ben then advised his on-screen sibling not to give any details away, to which Jack continued: "I don't know if I am. Not for a fact, I don't. 'The big key hitters, I think they might have been told. There's rumours – and I'm sniffing that I might be in the periphery." He then joked: "With my Yorkshire accent. I think I'm in it, talking Yorkshire and they're like: 'Where are you from? Are you from Bradford?'" Jack's soap tease might be the news some viewers have been wanting for, as one posted on X: "corrie and emmerdale crossover episode. I need david platt & ross barton , charity & tracy , mandy & carla oh the possibilities." The "mash-up" of two of the nation's most beloved soaps is set to air on ITV next year and will be the first of its kind in British soap history. It will mark the broadcaster's new 'power hour' of soap which begins on ITV1 and STV in January 2026. ITV said the producers, scriptwriters and production teams have 'conceived an ingenious way of linking the two universes, but with characters then returning to the soaps they are renowned for inhabiting in Manchester and Yorkshire'.
