The Chillest ‘Pokémon' Show Ever Made Returns This September

Gizmodo5 days ago
When Pokémon Concierge released in December 2023, we were immediately charmed by Dwarf Animation's gorgeous, felt-covered spin on the world of Pokémon—and how the series resonated with the franchise's older fans beyond gen-one nostalgia with its themes around work-life balance and burnout to provide the ultimate feel-good show. Now, we won't have to wait much longer to check back into the Pokémon resort once again.
During today's Pokémon Presents livestream, the Pokémon Company and Netflix revealed the first full trailer for Concierge season 2. Returning to the island resort, season 2 will follow Haru (Karen Fukuhara/Rena Nōnen) as she continues to thrive, having found her place working at the Pokémon resort, now helping visitors who were once like her find a space to relax and recenter from the hectic surroundings of the urban world.
And, of course, the real star of Concierge, Haru's partner Pokémon Psyduck, will also be back and seemingly continue to be an absolute delight.
It won't be all sunshine and rainbows though, it seems, as Haru will bump into her ex-boyfriend Kent and his Pokémon Arcanine after he checks into the resort. But we can't imagine Concierge is a show where dramatic conflict lasts particularly long, so there's no doubt they'll probably get along just fine again shortly after their reunion.
Pokémon Concierge will return to Netflix for another batch of four episodes September 4.

Fever, Caitlin Clark announce Stranger Things uniform collab

The post Fever, Caitlin Clark announce Stranger Things uniform collab appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Indiana Fever are blending basketball with one of Netflix's biggest cultural juggernauts. On Wednesday, July 23, the team launched a new limited-edition uniform inspired by Stranger Things, the hit series set in the fictional Hawkins, Indiana, per SI. The jersey completely reimagines the Fever's look, swapping out their typical colors for a retro-inspired design. Deep reds and blacks dominate the uniform, with claw-like accents and vintage Stranger Things lettering giving it a bold edge. One of the most striking details is the '011' stitched on the waistband, a direct nod to the show's iconic character, Eleven. Fever chief operating officer and general manager Amber Cox summed it up perfectly, saying, 'This jersey represents the fierce spirit of our team and the fearless energy of Stranger Things – two forces that never back down.' A Creative Partnership That Works For Caitlin Clark and the Fever, this collaboration makes perfect sense. The team and its superstar are among the most marketable names in basketball, and Stranger Things remains one of the most beloved series of the past decade. Bringing the two together creates a product that is both a fashion statement and a collector's item, especially with the show's final season premiering this winter. The Fever released a video capturing the players' reactions when they first saw the uniforms, and their excitement was palpable. Jerseys featuring Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell are available now, with customization options for fans who want their own name or number. The team has also rolled out Stranger Things-themed t-shirts, hoodies, and other merchandise. Indiana currently sits at 12-12 after a tough loss to the New York Liberty, but Clark's anticipated return from injury could give the Fever the boost they need for a late-season playoff push. Fans won't have to wait long to see the new look in action, as the Fever will debut the uniforms Thursday against the Las Vegas Aces and wear them six more times this season. Say, What? — Nintendo Just Dropped A Bombshell About Mario And Princess Peach's Relationship After All These Years

Since the '80s, our favorite mustachioed plumber, Mario, rescued our blonde-haired princess, Peach, from that problematic turtle monster, Bowser. But if you thought they were madly in love and destined to be together forever, think again. Newsflash: Mario and Princess Peach are apparently just friends! Related: No, you didn't read that wrong. After decades of romantic rumors, Nintendo basically revealed the actual status of Mario and Peach's relationship. "Princess Peach and Mario are good friends," the Japanese video game company wrote in a statement this past week, "and help each other out whenever they can." The news was brought to everyone's attention by X user @KirPinkFury, who discovered this bombshell announcement via the Nintendo Today app and shared it to X on July 23. For decades, across multiple platforms and forms of media, Mario has rescued the kidnapped Princess Peach from Bowser, and sometimes he was even rewarded with a kiss. But this viral revelation changes everything we once knew about the Mushroom Kingdom's greatest hero. If this news rocked your world, here's how people online reacted: Related: If you've played Super Mario Odyssey, then you'll remember when Peach rejected him after he traveled across the galaxy to rescue her. People couldn't get over the idea that he was seemingly "friendzoned" after all these years: Related: Some folks were downright shocked and saddened by the news: Related: And finally, somebody joked that maybe his archnemesis Bowser was in charge of the company: Funny enough, technically Doug Bowser is the current president and CEO of Nintendo of America, the American branch of the Japanese company. So, yes. Bowser is the CEO. It'll be okay, everyone. We need an update on Princess Daisy and Luigi's relationship status. We contacted Nintendo for comment and'll let you know if we hear back. Don't expect to blast your way through Ghost of Yotei: "Blades are the heart of the fantasy"

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Ghost of Yotei introduces the greatest Samurai technique of all time – just shooting a guy – but the developers have warned that Atsu is no Texas Red, and that blades are still king. Ghost of Yotei takes place hundreds of years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, and as a result, technology has advanced. During the recent Ghost of Yotei dedicated State of Play, footage revealed Atsu can start blasting, as she has access to firearms in the game. However, the developers have assured us that Yotei isn't about to become a shooting game, and good old fashioned sword swinging is still its name. GamesRadar+ features editor Andrew Brown spoke to Ghost of Yotei's creative directors Nate Fox and Jason Connell and asked specifically about the place of guns in the game. Fox dubbed firearms "not incredibly efficient" in line with how they were back in 1603. He elaborated, "Firearms have a role, and they are incredibly deadly when used at the right time," adding, "but it's not like Gun Kata, where the firearm is the melee weapon. Blades are the heart of the fantasy." However, Atsu isn't completely out of luck when it comes to fighting at range, as she has access to new melee weapons that help with that – namely a spear and a flail that can dispatch enemies in no time. And of course, she'll still have access to bows, which are probably the ideal ranged weapon anyway if you're going to take a stealthy approach – and you won't have to deal with Jin's annoying uncle berating you for it either! Although, in my eyes, nothing beats strolling into a camp and announcing to the whole population that you're here for a scrap. Ghost of Yotei "isn't going to rush you through anything" and "focuses on player freedom more than any game Sucker Punch has ever made," with clues and activities for all play styles.
