Shimla, April 30 (PTI) The Himachal Pradesh government is investing Rs 2415 crore to develop better infrastructure, wayside amenities and promote other adventure sports activities to attract tourists in the state, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday.
He claimed that the HPTDC achieved the annual turnover of Rs 107 crore under the present state government as compared to Rs 78 crore during the previous BJP government regime despite facing the challenges posed by natural disasters in the state.
The chief minister said that due to the profits earned by the HPTDC, the corporation has been able to clear Rs 41 crore benefits for the pensioners during the last two-and-half years, whereas the previous BJP government disbursed only Rs 26 crore during its five years.
He directed the officers to further improve service across the HPTDC properties and explore the possibilities of leasing out vacant properties of HPTDC on operation and maintenance basis to private players.
The chief minister also asked the department to complete the construction work of Shivdham in the Mandi district at the earliest and beautification work in the Renuka lake area in Sirmaur to make these more bewitching to the tourists. PTI BPL MNK MNK

No vehicular access to Dudhsagar falls
Panaji: In light of the advancing monsoon and subsequent widespread rainfall over the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park, the Goa forest department announced the temporary closure of vehicular access to the Dudhsagar waterfalls via the forest road starting June 10, until further notice. The decision was taken to ensure public safety, as confirmed by the deputy conservator of forests, wildlife and eco-tourism (North), Jiss Varkey. While vehicle movement is suspended, guided trekking to Dudhsagar waterfalls will remain open to visitors. Rs 125 crore factory complex near medical device park to boost startups
Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has launched a tender for a flatted factory complex spanning 38,665 sqm near its 350-acre medical device park in Sector 28. The Rs 125-crore complex is to be completed within 24 months and is expected to boost the entry of MSMEs and startups in the area. The complex, proposed to be a five-storey industrial space offering plug-and-play units with built-in utilities and shared amenities, like cafeterias, exhibition halls, parking space, retail shops and lifts, will offer 252 office units on a rental basis to startups to lower entry barriers. YEIDA CEO Arun Veer Singh said the complex is among the 11 factory complexes proposed off the Yamuna Expressway. "Flatted factory complexes support the state's vision of becoming a leading industrial hub with a focus on MSMEs and startups.
