
Man, 36, arrested over Edinburgh ‘shooting'

A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged shooting in Edinburgh.
A 23-year-old is alleged to have been shot twice in the arm earlier today near Hailesland Gardens in the city's Wester Hailes.

He went to hospital after the alleged gun incident where he was treated for serious injuries.
A 36-year-old has been arrested.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A man has been arrested as enquiries continue into a report of a firearm being discharged in Edinburgh.
"Officers were called to attend the Hailesland Gardens area around 3.40pm on Thursday, 24 July, 2025.
"A 23-year-old man attended hospital for treatment to injuries sustained to his arm from the incident. No one else was injured.
"Officers, including specialist firearms officers, attended and a search of the area was carried out.
"A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.
"A continued police presence will remain in the area."

Two women dead and teenager injured in Highlands crash
Two women have died and a teenage girl has been injured in a three-vehicle crash in the Scottish Highlands. The collision, which happened at around 3pm on Monday, involved two cars and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) on the A96 at the junction of Kingloss Road in Forres, Moray, Police Scotland said.
