singer and reality star didn't hold back during a recent episode of Amy & T.J., the podcast hosted by former GMA3 anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes.
During their May 16 conversation, recorded while O'Day was in New York where the trial is being held, the 41-year-old expressed serious concern about Combs' children—Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, and twins D'Lila and Jessie—being brought into such a deeply disturbing legal process.
'I can't imagine any father willingly allowing his kids to sit through that kind of testimony,' she said, referencing the emotional and graphic statements made in court by witnesses, including Combs' ex-girlfriend
Cassie Ventura
. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ventura's testimony included distressing allegations of abuse, as well as details of a sexual encounter involving a male escort that Combs allegedly watched.
O'Day didn't mince words about what she believes is behind the decision to have the children appear in court. 'To me, it just looks like he's trying to craft a narrative like, 'Look, I've got my family behind me,'' she said, calling it 'selfish' to expose them to such traumatic content. She added, 'It feels like he's using them for favorable optics, and that's not something a loving parent would do.'
During particularly graphic parts of the trial, some of the children reportedly left the courtroom—especially during the testimony of Daniel Phillip, a male escort who detailed a disturbing alleged incident involving Ventura and Combs. Meanwhile, surveillance footage from 2016 was also presented to the court, showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway. As reported by People, while some family members looked away, Combs' sons remained focused on the footage.
Despite speculation, O'Day clarified that she will not be taking the witness stand. However, she did reveal that she had a private meeting with Homeland Security officials, fueling more interest in what she may know about the case.
Combs has been behind bars since his September arrest and continues to plead not guilty to a series of serious felony charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. If convicted on all counts, he could face a minimum of 15 years to life in prison.
Still, his children have stood publicly by his side. As The Hollywood Reporter noted, his son Quincy posted a statement last October condemning the 'conspiracy theories and false narratives' circulating online and reaffirming their support for their father. 'We stand united,' Quincy wrote. 'We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail.'
O'Day's comments add another layer to the growing controversy surrounding the case—not just regarding the charges, but also the emotional toll it's taking on everyone involved, especially the children.

Other parts of the lawsuit—such as sexual battery, wrongful termination, retaliation, negligent supervision, and emotional distress—are still active and will go to court.
