Aubrey O'Day slams Sean "Diddy" Combs' courtroom strategy: ‘No father should put his kids through that'

Aubrey O'Day and Sean "Diddy" Combs'
Aubrey O'Day is once again speaking her truth—this time about her former mentor, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, and the presence of his children in court amid his ongoing
sex trafficking case
. The former
Danity Kane
singer and reality star didn't hold back during a recent episode of Amy & T.J., the podcast hosted by former GMA3 anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes.
During their May 16 conversation, recorded while O'Day was in New York where the trial is being held, the 41-year-old expressed serious concern about Combs' children—Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, and twins D'Lila and Jessie—being brought into such a deeply disturbing legal process.
'I can't imagine any father willingly allowing his kids to sit through that kind of testimony,' she said, referencing the emotional and graphic statements made in court by witnesses, including Combs' ex-girlfriend
Cassie Ventura
. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ventura's testimony included distressing allegations of abuse, as well as details of a sexual encounter involving a male escort that Combs allegedly watched.
O'Day didn't mince words about what she believes is behind the decision to have the children appear in court. 'To me, it just looks like he's trying to craft a narrative like, 'Look, I've got my family behind me,'' she said, calling it 'selfish' to expose them to such traumatic content. She added, 'It feels like he's using them for favorable optics, and that's not something a loving parent would do.'
During particularly graphic parts of the trial, some of the children reportedly left the courtroom—especially during the testimony of Daniel Phillip, a male escort who detailed a disturbing alleged incident involving Ventura and Combs. Meanwhile, surveillance footage from 2016 was also presented to the court, showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway. As reported by People, while some family members looked away, Combs' sons remained focused on the footage.
Despite speculation, O'Day clarified that she will not be taking the witness stand. However, she did reveal that she had a private meeting with Homeland Security officials, fueling more interest in what she may know about the case.
Combs has been behind bars since his September arrest and continues to plead not guilty to a series of serious felony charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. If convicted on all counts, he could face a minimum of 15 years to life in prison.
Still, his children have stood publicly by his side. As The Hollywood Reporter noted, his son Quincy posted a statement last October condemning the 'conspiracy theories and false narratives' circulating online and reaffirming their support for their father. 'We stand united,' Quincy wrote. 'We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail.'
O'Day's comments add another layer to the growing controversy surrounding the case—not just regarding the charges, but also the emotional toll it's taking on everyone involved, especially the children.

Diddy Supporter Kicked Out of Courtroom on Day 15 of Trial Over Shouting Disruption, Know What Happened

Trigger Warning: This article includes references to sexual assault. A supporter of Sean Diddy Combs was escorted out of the courtroom on June 3 as his s*x trafficking trial continued in New York. The woman, who had watched the proceedings from an overflow room, disrupted the main courtroom by shouting at the defense team and the rapper himself. Court officers quickly intervened, and order was restored within minutes. The outburst occurred as Combs sat alongside his lawyers. According to NBC News, the supporter shouted, "Everyone is laughing at Diddy," and "It's not right what they're doing to him!" She also yelled directly at Combs, "People are trying to do you wrong." Her remarks briefly halted testimony, drawing attention from jurors and legal staff. What sparked the courtroom disturbance? Before the supporter was removed, she voiced concern over the trial, which has drawn widespread media coverage. Observers stated that her emotional plea was driven by loyalty to Sean Diddy Combs and frustration with the trial's direction. After the woman was led away, the trial proceedings resumed without further interruptions. The removal of the supporter paved the way for former InterContinental Hotel security supervisor Eddy Garcia to testify. Garcia testified under an immunity order and described a 2016 incident involving Combs and ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. He alleged that Combs approached him to secure hotel surveillance footage showing Ventura being assaulted. Garcia told the court, "He kept repeating that I sounded like a good guy and said I could help with the video footage. He said it would ruin his career." According to Garcia, he lacked credentials to access the server room, but after reporting Combs's request to his supervisor, he was handed a USB drive containing the footage. He gave the memory card to Combs and signed a non-disclosure agreement with a USD 1 million penalty. The former security supervisor continued, "I apologized and told him I was only a security officer and didn't have access. I did not have the credentials to get to the server room where the original footage was." He added that Combs gave him USD 100,000 to be split between him and two other hotel employees. "We walked to my vehicle and he asked me how I was going to spend the money," Garcia said. "I said I didn't know, and he said, 'Don't make big purchases.' I thought it meant he didn't want to draw attention." Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges including s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The testimony regarding the hotel footage is part of a broader narrative about alleged attempts to suppress evidence. Prosecutors aim to show a pattern of behavior involving coercion and concealment.

Vin Diesel Cleared of 4 Discrimination Charges, Still Faces Sexual Battery Lawsuit

Last Updated: A Los Angeles judge dismissed 4 employment discrimination claims against Vin Diesel, but allegations of sexual battery and wrongful termination by a former assistant remain active. Actor Vin Diesel no longer faces four discrimination-related charges in a lawsuit filed against him. However, the case is far from over. A Los Angeles judge dropped those specific claims on June 3, 2025, though more serious allegations, including sexual battery and wrongful termination, are still being considered in court. The lawsuit was filed in 2023 by Asta Jonasson, who once worked as Diesel's assistant. She accused him of sexually assaulting her in 2010, saying he 'pinned her against a wall in a hotel suite and masturbated in front of her." Normally, a claim this old would be dismissed due to time limits. But a new California law has allowed the case to move forward. Signed in 2023 by Governor Gavin Newsom, the Sexual Abuse and Cover-Up Accountability Act makes it possible for survivors to bring back certain sexual assault claims that happened as far back as 2009. Still, not all of Jonasson's claims could continue. Judge Daniel M. Crowley ruled that four of them—specifically under California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA)—were invalid because Jonasson didn't file a complaint with the state's Civil Rights Department within the one-year deadline. In his statement, Judge Crowley explained: 'Plaintiff's FEHA claims are time-barred because she failed to timely exhaust her administrative remedies by filing a CRD complaint within one year of the alleged adverse action, a jurisdictional requirement for a FEHA lawsuit." The dismissal only applies to the FEHA-related claims, including workplace discrimination. Other parts of the lawsuit—such as sexual battery, wrongful termination, retaliation, negligent supervision, and emotional distress—are still active and will go to court. Vin Diesel's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, denied all of Jonasson's claims. In a statement to People, he said, 'We will present irrefutable evidence that the remaining fictitious allegations alleged herein did not occur and finally end what remains of this maliciously filed lawsuit." Though the case has been trimmed down, it's far from finished. The court will now focus on the remaining, more serious allegations, and both sides are preparing for the next steps, which may uncover more information about the incident and Diesel's role.
