Jon Gruden Wastes No Time Picking the Best Current NFL Quarterback

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden knows a thing or two about football, and the same about quarterbacks. The famed coach led quarterbacks such as Rich Gannon, Brad Johnson, and Derek Carr. More news: Rams' Matthew Stafford Not Spotted at Practice Amid Injury Concerns Gruden has been popular on social media in recent years, doing a lot of work with Barstool Sports. Now, he has joined a unique interview where he had to rapid fire answer questions, revealing who he believes to be the best in the history of the NFL and current players. @peightontubreofficial Rapid Questions & Fantasy Football sleepers with NFL Legend Jon Gruden!🏈 @Barstool Gruden @The Real Autograph ♬ original sound - Peighton Tubre While sitting down with Peighton Tubre, Gruden answered a ton of questions. Initially, he is asked who his favorite route runner of all time is, quickly answering Jerry Rice. It's hard to argue against that. Photo byMore news: Jets' Tyrod Taylor Will Miss Significant Time After Undergoing Surgery The second question is far more controversial, as Gruden is asked who the best quarterback in the NFL right now is. He resoundingly answered "Joe Burrow" before looking into the camera with a face that could add even more fire to his answer. There is no arguing that Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He continues to be a top 10 player in his respective position, but he is also up against two other phenoms. There are those who would argue that Buffalo Bills signal caller Josh Allen and Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson are above Burrow in the quarterback subject. Funny enough, a quarterback tier ranking from The Athletic stated that Patrick Mahomes and Burrow are tied for first place, with Josh Allen in third, and Jackson in fourth. Still, Jackson has won two MVP awards and should have arguably won his third in 2024. That honor was given to Allen instead. Burrow, on the other hand, has not yet won that prestigious award. That is not to say that Burrow is not a top quarterback in the NFL, but the trio of passers are often spoken about in the same conversation. That does include Mahomes, as well. The difference among them all is that Mahomes has also led his team to five Super Bowls in the last six years. Burrow has made one appearance, while Jackson and Allen have yet to reach the big game. Picking top players at their respective positions is subjective, but Gruden sees Burrow as the top player right now. For more on the NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.

Von Miller says Broncos are like an ex-girlfriend with a new guy

In a recent episode of the Pardon My Take podcast, and in a move that may shock absolutely no one, former Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller spoke about missing being with his old team. "Being away from Denver -- and like, you know at first, it's like, 'Yeah, I'm on a new team,' as time goes by, you just miss those days," Miller told PMT. "I had spent so much time in Denver, man. They're doing so many good things with that organization, building the facility, new stadium, everything is going crazy. They've got a good team now. It's like, 'Damn,' it's like seeing your old girlfriend with the new guy and she's happy. ... Now she's starting to get in shape and she's starting to look good now, she's bouncing back. And I'm like, 'Dang.'" Miller has not shied away from revealing how much he loves the Broncos, recently saying Denver will be his home when it's all said and done. Miller had the best years of his career in Denver, where he won Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos in 2015, earning the game's MVP award. Miller will have another chance to face the Broncos as an opponent when his Washington Commanders and Denver meet in Week 13 in a Sunday Night Football showdown. You can view Miller's full comments about the Broncos below (the interview starts around 1:43:00). We miss you, too, Von! Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Taylor Swift Announces New Album

Taylor Swift performs on stage during The Eras Tour in Dublin, Ireland, on June 28, 2024. Credit - Charles McQuillan—TAS24/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management Taylor Swift is dropping a new album. A countdown appeared on Swift's website against a glittery orange background on Aug. 11 and reached zero at 12:12 a.m. ET on Aug. 12. The website briefly crashed as fans flooded the site in anticipation. Preorders for the new album will ship out before Oct. 13, although the official release date has not yet been announced. The album artwork and tracklist are also yet to be revealed. Swift appears set to reveal the album artwork during an upcoming episode of the podcast 'New Heights,' hosted by her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. The Life of a Showgirl will be Swift's 12th original studio album. Her last album was The Tortured Poets Department, which was released on April 19, 2024. Swift has also released four reissues of her previous albums as part of an effort to reclaim the rights to her own work. While many fans had been anticipating a reissue of her Reputation album from 2017, Swift bought back her masters earlier this year and said in a letter to fans that she was putting off the re-recording project for now. The countdown for the new album followed other so-called easter eggs, hints for fans that Swift is known for dropping ahead of big announcements, including a 12-photo carousel posted by Swift's official marketing team featuring images of Swift in orange outfits during her record-breaking Eras Tour. The post's caption,'Thinking about when she said, 'See you next era…'' references the first page of Swift's official photobook, The Eras Tour, in which a letter from Swift to fans ends with, 'See you next era…' The Kelce brothers' 'New Heights' podcast posted a teaser on Monday for a special episode on Aug. 13, featuring a 'VERY special' mystery guest, which led fans to jump on the fact that Swift's favorite number is 13. Shortly after, the brothers revealed that the guest would be Swift in a post that read, 'Taylor's about to do a f*cking podcast!' The episode is set to release Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET. August also appears to be a favorite month for Swift, who aside from writing a song named 'August,' has made four out of 13 of her album announcements (including re-recordings but excluding her first two albums, which did not have official online announcements) in August, according to Kayla Wong who runs a social media account dedicated to tracking Swift-related news through data. Most of Swift's albums released two to three months after being announced. Contact us at letters@ Solve the daily Crossword
