Homicide investigators are looking into the death of a Winnipeg man, police say.
Officers were called to a scene on Boyd Avenue Monday evening, where they found a man with severe injuries. He was given emergency medical care and rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
The victim has been identified as Breydon Henry Cadieux-Kwiatkowski, 26.

‘This vehicle stands out': New appeal in deadly targeted Surrey shooting
Do you recognize this distinctive red car? If you do, homicide investigators want to hear from you. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the red Dodge Charger was used in the targeted killing of 29-year-old Jaskaran Singh Minhas in Surrey, B.C., this spring. Minhas was found with fatal gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of his vehicle on 120 Street near 79 Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on March 3. In an update on Monday, IHIT said the vehicle was subsequently dumped and torched in Delta. But police believe the vehicle was also used in the planning phase of the attack, and said it was spotted in an area of Abbotsford near the U.S. border and in the Fleetwood neighbourhood of Surrey leading up to the shooting. Minhas's family also released a statement on Monday, urging anyone with information to come forward. 'We are heartbroken parents desperately seeking answers about what happened to our son, Jaskaran. He was tragically killed in a gang-related incident, and since that day, our lives have been turned upside down as we cope with this unimaginable loss,' the family said. 'We are still searching for answers. If you were present, heard anything, or saw something, please come forward. You may hold the key to helping us understand why this happened to our son. Winnipeg police make drug, gun seizure after driver flees traffic stop Saturday
Two men are facing a lengthy list of charges after fleeing an early morning traffic stop Saturday in the West End, Winnipeg police say. Officers were patrolling near Agnes Street and St. Matthews Avenue just before 2:15 a.m. when they saw a 2011 Nissan Rogue idling at a stop sign. The same Nissan later failed to stop at a red light at Maryland Street and Portage Avenue, police said, and when they attempted a traffic stop, it took off at high speed. With the help of the Air1 helicopter, police tracked the car to a home on Alexander Avenue. Two men got out and ran away, but were arrested nearby. Police also found small quantities of crack, cocaine and three cellular phones that had been dropped near the site of the arrest. Police also seized $895 in cash from the driver. Story continues below advertisement A 20-year-old man now faces more than half a dozen charges, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possessing the proceeds of property obtained by crime, fleeing while pursued by a peace officer and four firearms charges. The other man, 21, has been charged with a similar list of offences — six in total.

‘My heart feels like a hollow shell': B.C. man honours wife, baby killed by fallen tree
A memorial was held in Comox on Sunday night for a young mother and her five-month-old son who died in a tragic accident last month. Lynae Wolchuk, 26, and her baby, Elias, were killed after a tree fell on them at a campground on Comox Lake on July 31.
