Actress Kajol decided to introduce the netizens to her unconventional best friends this National Bestfriend Day on Sunday. Kajol revealed that her friends — her coffee, her crochet, and her books have a hard time understanding social media, and hence she could not upload a photo with them.
'I couldn't get any pictures coz I was spending time with my best friends, and they really don't get social media....my coffee, my crochet, and my books! #NationalBestfriendDay.' Kajol penned on social media. On more than one occasion, Kajol has been seen kitting and reading books whenever she gets a chance.
Kajol, who will next be seen in the upcoming film 'Maa', corrected actor R. Madhavan that she is not a 'big prankster' and it's her actor-filmmaker husband Ajay Devgn. On Wednesday, the makers of the film took to YouTube and dropped a video, where Kajol and Madhavan were seen having a conversation about the film, which is scheduled to release on June 27.
In the video, Madhavan was seen telling Kajol: 'Everyone knows that you're a big prankster.' Denying the hilarious claim, Kajol said: 'No, you're mistaking me for Ajay Devgn. Not at all.'
Madhavan asked Kajol if she is the serious kind on the set, to which Kajol responded that she is ' very serious on set' and then added with a laugh that she is 'kind and humble on set.'
Madhavan then asked Kajol if she has 'ever scared a director out of your kindness and humility by completely memorising all your lines and all the other characters' lines, going completely prepared and sitting there stoically and waiting for the shot?' Kajol said: 'Never would I do that to myself. I never do it to myself. If you want to scare the director, there are many other things to scare him. But, no.'
The actress turned the same question to Madhavan and said: 'You are also a very, very prepared actor, as we know. I mean, you've brought a box of ladoos early in the morning to scare the director on set.' Madhavan said: 'Nobody has touched it, I know. I want to tell you that. I've to change my strategy right now, right? I'll have to change the ladoos. I'll bring barfi next time. But...improvisations are necessary sometimes.'
Asked if he is one of those people who does not believe in a script, Madhavan said: 'The lines are written, but we'll do whatever needs to be done......'
Kajol asked: 'And you don't interfere?' 'I mean, I fight a lot before reaching the set... With the director and everything. Whatever arguments, whatever takes place.'
Kajol then asked: 'So, you've decided that you're going to fight with everybody before...'
To which, he said: 'Yes, before and for the sake of the film. But, on the set, I've learned from Ajay sir and everybody... ...that you have to have only one director. So, put your argument vehemently. Then, I'll do whatever he says.'

Kajol praises husband Ajay Devgn for being a 'hands-on' producer

Bollywood actor-couple Kajol and Ajay Devgn have worked together in multiple projects such as Ishq Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Dil Kya Kare Kare, and Tanhaji. And now with the upcoming film Maa, the husband and wife are again all set to entertain the audience. This time, the couple don't share screen space but were deeply involved in making the film. In an interview with ANI, Kajol opened up about collaborating with Devgn on Maa, describing him as "a hands-on producer". "... From script to music and VFX, he has given a lot of attention to every part of this film. I think VFX is a huge part of the film. And, as they say, shooting VFX is a different game... so he has given a lot of detail...," Kajol said. Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa marks Kajol's return to the big screen after a three-year hiatus with Salaam Venky. "...Every actor has to reinvent himself/herself with time. I had never thought I would do a horror film, but here we are. I am extremely proud of this film," she said. "I love our Indian mythology. We have so many stories. So, I think it was one of my favourite stories." Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, Maa will hit the theatres on June 27.

Being a Maharashtrian, I've always been fascinated by folklore: Sharvari

As 'Munjya' completed a year since its release in Hindi cinema, actress Sharvari celebrated the moment and said that being a Maharashtrian, she has always been fascinated by mythology and folklore. She said: 'Being a Maharashtrian, I've always been fascinated by mythology and folklore. I had heard of Munjya growing up, but when this script came to me, the level of detail and imagination just blew my mind.' The actress said that she thoroughly enjoyed shooting for the film. Sharvari added: 'We all had a great rapport on set which made things easy. Munjya was India's first CGI actor... There was no character reference that we could see so we all had an imagination and we were acting/reacting on our own.' The idea of Marathi folklore becoming a big-scale Hindi film excited Sharvari instantly. She said: 'And with Aditya Sarpotdar sir directing it, I was thrilled. I've seen most of his films and they have been mind-blowing. We also shot in the Konkan belt, and he was so well-versed with everyone there — the language, the terrain, the food, the delicacies. We learnt a great deal from him.' Talking about the film, Sharvari said, 'I still can't believe it's already been a year since Munjya released. Playing Bela was such a creatively fulfilling experience, but what truly took me by surprise was the overwhelming love audiences showed for our dance track 'Taras.'' 'For someone just starting out, having a producer like Dinesh Vijan sir back me with such a big, high-energy number was surreal.' The actress said that she has only seen 'established actors or dancing idols getting big dance numbers because they have the pull and the popularity to hook people's interest.' 'It is a great pat on my shoulders that I can do it too and try to have a hit dance anthem to my credit!' Sharvari further shared, 'To see Munjya cross the ₹100-crore mark and still be so loved a year later feels surreal. And the fan celebration today made it all even more special. Walking into the dance workshop and seeing their faces light up genuinely moved me.' 'I got to thank them in person for carrying Bela and 'Taras' with them over the past year. One of them even asked me to do the hookstep — and of course, I had to join in! We danced together, shared laughs, and they even surprised me with a sweet birthday gift for the film's anniversary.' She said that it was one of those full-heart moments that reminded her exactly why she loves 'being part of cinema.' Munjya, a horror comedy also stars Abhay Verma, Sathyaraj and Mona Singh. The titular character was entirely created using CGI. It is the third installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and focuses on the legend of Munjya, inspired by Indian folklore and mythology.
