Woman Finds 2 'Nervous' Street Dogs—Adopts One but Knows Someone Is Missing

A Swiftie who attended the Eras Tour knew it would be a memorable night, but she never could have imagined just how it would change her life, and the lives of two street dogs she met along the way.
Brooke Morosca, of Orlando, Florida, traveled to New Orleans in October 2024 to attend Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. But the surprises started before she even got to the concert, friendship bracelets in tow, as she spotted a dog lying in the street.
Morosca, 24, got out of the car to get a better look, telling Newsweek that the yellow Labrador had no collar and was covered in fleas. There weren't any signs of a home nearby, so she wasn't sure where the canine came from.
"The dog came walking up to me with her tail wagging," Morosca said. "As she did that, a small black dog came running out of the bushes. He was also covered in fleas and looked extremely malnourished."

It melted Morosca's heart to meet the two "nervous" dogs. As she walked toward the Airbnb to figure out a plan, she was stunned to see them follow her. The animals didn't want to leave her side, and she felt an instant connection.
Morosca and her friends stayed at the Airbnb for four nights, and their two guests were with them throughout.
"We gave them food and water, and I called my sister to pick up more supplies on their way. One of her friends worked at a shelter so she bought stuff and was even able to clip their nails," Morosca continued.
As wonderful as their company was during the trip, Morosca knew she was heading home and needed a long-term solution. She couldn't just leave and let them return to the streets.
Morosca bonded with both dogs, and she could sense that they "just wanted love." She felt connected with the black dog, fitting since that is a Taylor Swift song title, and before she left New Orleans, she knew he was meant to be her pet.
"I was able to get the black dog to warm up to me and trust me to pet him, which was so rewarding," she said.
Morosca contacted a local shelter to hold both dogs. It broke her heart to say goodbye, and she would have given anything to take them both. She made a promise to come back for them when she was permitted—a promise she intended to keep.
Both dogs had to undergo a three-day owner reclaim period. Shelter staff told Morosca that they recognized the duo, and they had been trying to take the owner to court for custody. If the owner didn't turn up in those three days, then the dogs would be available for adoption.
Morosca called every day for updates, but, on the third day, their owner appeared.
This elongated the process somewhat, and Morosca felt immense guilt that the dogs were in the shelter for a lot longer than intended. Nonetheless, she refused to lose hope.
Four months later, she was told that the black dog, now called Rhysand, was available for adoption. However, the yellow Labrador had been returned to the owner.
"What followed was a ton of mixed emotions," Morosca said. "Joy and gratitude that I was able to rescue him and give him a better life, but also sadness that she was in the exact same situation I tried to help her out of. And she was now doing it alone. I never stopped thinking about her and held on to hope that, somehow, I could help her."

As happy as Rhysand seemed in his forever home, it was clear that he was missing something—or someone.
Several weeks later, Morosca felt an urge to check the shelter's website on a whim. By some miracle, the yellow Labrador was the top listing, and she knew exactly what to do next.
Morosca drove back to Louisiana to rescue her, and she was brought to tears when she finally reunited the dogs. The yellow Labrador, named Crumpet, is staying with a friend as she has heartworm so needs to recover.
Morosca isn't certain if she will be able to keep Crumpet forever, as it is a big financial commitment to keep two dogs. However, if she does have to rehome her, it will be to one of her close friends, and the dogs will enjoy regular playdates.
"I can't express how happy I am knowing that they are both healthy and they're finally going to have the lives they deserve," Morosca said.
She shared the incredible rescue story on TikTok (@brookemorosca) and the post went viral, with over 7.9 million views and more than 1.4 million likes at the time of writing. The online response is beyond anything she anticipated, and Morosca hopes their story will inspire others to help an animal in need, too.
With almost 3,500 comments on the viral TikTok post, social-media users hailed Morosca for allowing Rhysand and Crumpet to start their new eras.
One comment reads: "A true 'you belong with me' moment."
Another TikTok user wrote: "Omg you're the best for this. They are literally Sunshine and Midnight Rain."
A third person replied: "Eras Tour literally saving lives."

Taylor Swift Stuns Fans With Performance at Tight End University
Taylor Swift Stuns Fans With Performance at Tight End University originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is hosting Tight End University this week, a summit he founded with Greg Olsen and San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle. Taylor Swift showed her support for Kelce on June 23, attending the event's welcome party for the first time in their nearly two-year relationship. She happily posed at the step-and-repeat and took photos with several attendee's wives and girlfriends. Tight end University, which takes place in Nashville, made some significant changes to this year's program. They introduced a golf tournament, "giving attendees another platform for camaraderie and community building,' TE University shared in a memo. The summit, now in its fifth year, also hosted a Tight Ends & Friends Concert at the Nashville Bowl. Numerous artists were announced over the past few weeks as performers, including Chase Rice, Jordan Davis, Sophia Scott, and Graham Barham. However, no one expected Swift to take the stage. After nearly two years traveling globe on her record-breaking "Eras Tour," she's kept a noticeably low profile. However, the 14-time Grammy took the stage on Tuesday night, and sang "Shake It Off," for a stunned crowd. It's truly a full circle moment for the famous couple. One year ago, Kelce joined Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium in London and performed the intro for "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart." Now, Swift surprised fans on stage to sing a song for his fans. It also marked Swift's first performance since reclaiming her masters last month. Video showed Kelce was backstage and cheering her on during the performance. One fan commented, "YEEHAW TAYLOR IS COMING BACK Y'ALL!!" Another person wrote, "Taylor lit up the entire stadium with just one song!" Another fan gushed, "Guys, this is SO fun. Like, the vibes I get from this is 'open mic night'. YKWIM?? She hasn't played to a crowd this small in a LONG time. I bet it felt so refreshing and freeing to her! And this being the first time on stage since Eras? Idk, I'm just really happy for her."This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 25, 2025, where it first appeared. Sharon Osbourne's Comments About Assisted Suicide Resurface After Ozzy Osbourne Death
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, died on July 22 at the age of 76. Following his death, a topic from the past involving his wife, Sharon Osbourne, has resurfaced: their previously discussed plan for assisted suicide in the event of an illness. The Osbourne family has been open about their struggles. Now, in the wake of Ozzy's passing, earlier comments made about end-of-life planning are being revisited by some. File Photo: A photo dated June 26, 2004, shows Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne on stage at the Olympic Torch Concert in The Mall, central London a free concert. Ozzy died July 22, 2025. File Photo: A photo dated June 26, 2004, shows Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne on stage at the Olympic Torch Concert in The Mall, central London a free concert. Ozzy died July 22, 2025. Press Association via AP Images What Sharon Osbourne Has Said About Assisted Suicide Sharon Osbourne previously expressed support for assisted suicide under certain circumstances. In her 2007 memoir Survivor: My Story – The Next Chapter, she revealed that she and Ozzy agreed to seek help from Dignitas, a Swiss assisted-suicide organization, if either of them developed dementia, per People. It stemmed from the death of Sharon's father, Don Arden, back in 2007, from Alzheimer's disease. In a September 2007 article that appeared in the Daily Mirror, Sharon said she "believes in euthanasia" and said the pair "have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains. If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer's, that's it — we'd be off." The talking point was revisited during an October 2023 episode of The Osbournes Podcast, where Sharon, Ozzy, son Jack and daughter Kelly appeared. Jack Osbourne turned to his mother and asked if they still had a plan to go to Switzerland. "Do you think that we're going to suffer?" Sharon replied. "Well, maybe! Isn't life already suffering?" Jack answered. "Yes, we all are, but I don't want it to actually hurt, as well," Sharon said. "Mental suffering is enough pain without physical. So, if you've got mental and physical - see ya." Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and has had ongoing health issues since a 2019 fall. His legacy includes two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions, five Grammy wins, and global recognition. He died just weeks after sharing an emotional farewell with fans at Villa Park, which featured bands including Metallica and Guns N' Roses. Kelly Osbourne Comments on 'Suicide Pact' Claims in July 2025 However, daughter Kelly has pushed back on interpretations of the "pact." In an Instagram Story posted on July 11 — 11 days before Ozzy's death — she criticized viral content circulating about her parents. "Stop making articles or posts about how you think my parents are having a suicide pact," she said on the app, per E! News. "That was bulls*** my mom said to get attention one time. And my dad's not dying. Stop." Kelly also responded to AI-generated videos suggesting her father was unwell. "He's not dying," she said. "Yes, he has Parkinson's, and yes, his mobility is completely different than it used to be, but he's not dying. What is wrong with you?" How Many Kids Does Ozzy Osbourne Have? Ozzy Osbourne, original lead singer of Black Sabbath, released several solo albums, including No More Tears and Diary of a Madman. He is survived by six children. He had three children—Aimee, Kelly, and Jack—with Sharon Osbourne, and three others from previous relationships: Jessica, Louis, and Elliot. In a statement following his death, the Osbourne family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," the statement reads. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." Where was Ozzy Osbourne when he died? Ozzy Osbourne was surrounded by his family when he died, based on the statement. USA Today reports he died in Birmingham, England. In the hours after his death, tributes poured in from across the music industry. Rock musician Paul Stanley of KISS, rapper and actor Ice T, and rock band Pixies all shared messages of admiration and grief.
