Has Heavenly Ever After been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:
Heavenly Ever After is the latest sentimental K-drama, boasting compelling characters and an intriguing story. This one has been quite the rollercoaster over the past weeks!
If you've been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more. Here's what we know about a renewal:
What is Heavenly Ever After about?
Heavenly Ever After tells the story of an old woman, Hae-suk, who lived a happy life with her husband until she died. Her husband loved her so much and always admired her beauty, saying, 'You were pretty in your twenties and thirties, and now you are the most beautiful at eighty!'
When Hae-suk was about to die, she remembered her husband's words and said, 'I just want to go to heaven at my real age.' Surprisingly, when she arrives in heaven, she meets her husband in his 30's version!
We have ongoing coverage of Heavenly Ever After on the site, including recaps for every episode. You can find those HERE!
Has Heavenly Ever After been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, JTBC and Netflix have not renewed Heavenly Ever After for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it'll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
JTBC do have ratings available to look over here, with the first episode beginning with a respectable 5.8% share and since then it's been hovering around a 6.1 rating, which is pretty good for a weekend K-drama.
Most k-dramas do wrap up their stories in a single season though, and it's generally very rare – but not impossible – to find these sort of shows renewed. This one doesn't look like it's going to buck the trend and is unlikely to be renewed in the future.
We'll be sure to update this section with more details as they become available.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, it's rare to find these sort of shows renewed. With the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
Having said that though, we have seen Taxi Driver and Tale of the Nine Tailed renewed recently, alongside Alchemy of Souls too. Given how steady the ratings are for this series, could we see this one buck the trend? It seems very unlikely that Heavenly Ever After will, but you never know! We'll be sure to update this section when we know more.

Friends star Lisa Kudrow goes viral over Karoline Leavitt impression
Lisa Kudrow had fans in stitches after her appearance in 2020 political mockumentary resurfaced on social media in recent days. The 62-year-old Friends star went viral after a clip in which she parodies a right-wing 'non-official spokesperson' for President Donald Trump's MAGA movement started making the rounds again on social media. The clip was from the Netflix special Death To 2020 , which was produced by Black Mirror creator Charlie Booker — who also wrote the film — and his regular collaborator Annabel Jones. On X (formerly Twitter ), commenters — many of whom appeared to have liberal politics — were simultaneously delighted and infuriated by what they saw as similarities between Kudrow's over-the-top defenses of the first Trump administration's scandals and the real flak that Trump's current White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, deflects on a daily basis. They praised her 'perfect impersonation' of an influential MAGA figure in the replies, with many users finding major parallels between her and real-life right-wing figures over their allegedly slippery grasp of the truth. Kudrow's spokeswoman, the fictional Jeanetta Grace Susan, was seen in a clip seemingly meant to take place in Washington, DC, as she defended Trump against his multiple impeachments. 'The whole impeachment thing was baseless, OK,' Kudrow says in character. 'So the Democrats claim that Trump pressured Ukraine into digging up dirt on the Biden family and their only real "evidence" of that is the transcript of him doing it,' she adds on a particularly ridiculous note as documents referencing Trump's attempts to get Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election. Kudrow digs in shamelessly when the unseen British interviewer asked her to say more about the 'transcript' she had mentioned. 'What transcript?' she replies. When the interviewer reminders her that she just mentioned a transcript, she shoots back, 'Check your tape. I said no such thing.' Then Kudrow scoffs as the interviewer began reading back what she had just said about Ukraine, before doubling down and interjecting, 'There's no such place as Ukraine.' 'Yes, there is,' he replies in shock, but the spokeswoman shoots back, 'I choose to believe there is not.' Several viewers in the replies saw in Kudrow a shocking resemblance to Leavitt, both physically and in her defensive tone, though Leavitt wasn't working as the White House Press Secretary until the second Trump administration, years after the Netflix special was released. 'This is GREAT! Kudrow perfectly captured the Karoline Leavitt person — right down to the long bond hair and vapid smile,' wrote one user who felt there was a strong similarity. One viewer praised the clip as 'freaking awesome' and said that Kudrow's performance as a fake PR specialist was 'probably the best thing I've seen since Tina Fey did Sarah Palin' on Saturday Night Live. Other posters praised the clip as 'brilliant,' 'on point' and 'perfect.' One user complained that Americans were forced to 'literally listen to this everyday.' 'MAGA believe and stake their lives on memes, but call any reporting or data into question and often see document records as a compelling reason to believe the opposite of what they indicate,' they added.

Teachers' reactions to Adolescence show ‘real problem' with schooling
The four-part series explores misogyny among teenage boys and prompted a national conversation about online safety when it was released in March. Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Thorne said: 'I worked in a school, (executive producer) Hannah (Walters) spent a long time in schools, and we both had a real passion to talk about schools that aren't doing so well. 'And it was so interesting the response, because there was teachers going, 'That would never happen in schools', and then other teachers going, 'You've got that spot on'. 'And what that showed is, we've got a real problem in our country, because there's a certain level of schooling which is complacent about the schools that we're allowing to sink.' One of the episodes in the series is filmed in a school and shows Ashley Walters' character, DI Luke Bascombe, interviewing children who are friendly with 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), who has been accused of murdering his school friend. Also in the session, Netflix executive Mona Qureshi, responded to Channel 4 news boss Louisa Compton accusing the streamer of behaving like 'TV tourists' earlier at the TV festival. Owen Cooper, centre, Ashley Walters, centre right, and Stephen Graham, right, who stars as Jamie's father Eddie Miller (Ian West/PA) Compton also called the channel 'proud parents' of Adolescence because of the opportunities they had given Thorne and actor and co-creator Stephen Graham over the years, according to reports. 'I don't think I'm a tourist,' Qureshi said. 'Nothing about where I am and where we sit and the conversations we had about and around Adolescence at the beginning really came out of anything other than us.' Thorne said he 'started out' with Channel 4, adding: 'I'm really grateful for Channel 4, but I'm excited that Netflix is moving into this space.' In March, Thorne, 46, spoke to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Downing Street about the issues raised in the drama. This Is England star Graham co-created the drama with Thorne and starred as Eddie Miller, the father of Jamie. The series took months of preparation and rehearsals so that each episode could be filmed in one continuous shot, which was praised by viewers of the show. The show has received 13 Emmy nominations, including for its young star Cooper, for best supporting actor in a limited series.
