Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy informed that foundation will be laid to the integrated Sub-Registrar office building by CM on August 20. Minister said that in the first phase, 39 Sub-Registrar offices in four districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal and Sangareddy are going to be brought under the purview of 11 integrated buildings. Rangareddy RO Office, Gandipet, Sherlingampalli and Rajendranagar are being constructed as an integrated Sub-Registrar office at the Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management (TALIM) office in Gachibowli. He said that this integrated Sub-Registrar office will be a role model. He said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone of this building on August 20. The Minister reviewed the arrangements for the event scheduled to be held on August 20 and visited Gachibowli on Monday. Orders have been issued to the respective district collectors to identify sites for integrated buildings at four places for thirteen more sub-registrar offices. He said that the slot booking system introduced in all the sub-registrar offices in the state will be successfully implemented to provide services in a transparent and corruption-free manner, saving the time of the people. He said that the slot booking system is being implemented in 144 sub-registrar offices in the state in phases from April 10 to June 2 across the state, and so far, about three lakh slot bookings have been registered. He said that his government does not see the Stamps & Registration Department as a source of income and is taking necessary steps to provide the best services to the people. He explained that the Government has saved a lot of people's time through slot booking and that it is going to introduce the e-Aadhaar system to make the registration process faster. This system is already being implemented in the Armur Sub-Registrar offices of Nizamabad district and Kusumanchi Sub-Registrar offices of Khammam district and will soon be implemented in all offices. Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said revolutionary reforms have been undertaken in the Stamp & Registration Department to provide the best services to the people coming to the registration offices. He said that due to these reforms, the people are already getting many better services, and in order to provide the best services in the future, in line with the ideas of the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, they are going to reorganize the Sub-Registrar offices and build integrated offices wherever necessary to provide convenience to the people without any administrative hassle. He said that these offices will not only improve performance, but also facilitate supervision and reduce corruption, and the workload between the offices will be equal and the processing of files will be expedited.

Iris scans to ease leave and licence registration process in state; relief for citizens facing Aadhaar fingerprint issues

1 2 Pune:Tenants and property owners registering leave and licence agreements in the state can now complete Aadhaar authentication using iris scans. This is particularly beneficial for senior citizens whose fingerprints are often not detected during Addhaar verification. The facility is expected to be fully operational in the coming week, officials from the state registration and stamps department told TOI on Saturday. Until now, applicants relied solely on fingerprint authentication under the Aadhaar-based online registration system. Repeated complaints highlighted that the fingerprints of many elderly property owners renting out flats were either too faint or unclear to be detected. Even youngsters who have not updated their Aadhaar details after reaching the age of 15 often face problems while renting flats as college or university students. In some cases, property owners, who are senior citizens, have no option but to execute a power of attorney, which carries its own risks. To resolve this, Aadhaar verification through iris scans has been introduced," said Abhaysinh Mohite, deputy inspector general of registration (IT). He said the process would be simplified with this addition. "Even after uploading an application, the registration process often remains incomplete due to lack of fingerprint authentication. The iris scan is expected to speed up the process," said JD Wani, a senior citizen who recently leased out his flat to students and faced several issues. Many senior citizens with multiple properties choose to rent them out as a means of generating additional income. Another senior citizen, Mohan Rao, said many times, due to fingerprint authentication issues, he was forced to give the power of attorney to someone, though this entailed the possibility of fraud. Fortunately, with the iris scan, things might get easier, he hoped. An iris scan is a biometric process that captures the unique patterns in the coloured part of the eye for identity verification. Across the country, the Aadhaar system uses fingerprints and iris scans, allowing people whose fingerprints may not be easily readable to complete verifications smoothly and securely. The move has been strongly backed by the Association of Service Providers, whose members flagged repeated glitches and slow processing — often 40 minutes to over an hour — for a single agreement. "With iris-based Aadhaar verification now enabled, these issues will be eliminated and citizens' time and money will be saved," said Sachin Singhvi, a member of the association. The members had repeatedly submitted complaints to the department, prompting the computer division to modify the software to incorporate iris scan authentication. Officials clarified that fingerprint verification will continue as an option, but those unable to provide fingerprints — particularly senior citizens — can now opt for iris-based Aadhaar authentication. "This facility ensures that no one is excluded from completing their agreements due to biometric limitations," Singhvi added. The facility has been rolled out first for tenancy agreements, but officials said discussions are underway to extend iris scan verification for other services, including marriage registrations.
