One man dead after motorcycle crash in Brown County
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A 22-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Friday night in Brown County.
The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the single-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 774 near mile marker 5, at approximately 07:07 p.m.
According to the initial investigation, the 22-year-old man from Williamsburg was riding a 2009 Yamaha R6 northeast on State Route 774. Officials said he failed to negotiate a curve and went right off the road. They said he then hit a ditch and overturned.
He was declared dead on the scene by EMS.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.

BALLVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a fiery crash in Sandusky County left three people injured on Wednesday. The 2007 Silverado driver suffered from minor injuries, state troopers said. He was reportedly wearing a seat belt. Dayton family recovering after driver crashes into living room
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A family is putting their life back together after a driver crashed through their front door and into their living room. When first responders arrived on scene around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, they found a truck lodged into the living room of the Donlow's home on Arlene Avenue. Nobody was hurt, but police suspect the driver was under the influence when the crash happened. That driver, who is now in custody, also hit two other cars in the process. The family says it's been a long few days recovering from that crash, but said this accident that demolished part of their home is not entirely a bad thing. 'The next thing we heard was a big boom, and we just hit the floor,' said Kimberly Donlow, homeowner. 'There was a vehicle in our living room.' Kimberly says she's been unable to work for days without pay, since she works from home and her workspace was destroyed, along with medical equipment she uses as well. But that morning, she remembers seeing the driver get out of the truck in her home and profusely apologizing for what had happened. Kimberly also remembers not being angry in the slightest. 'We're calm, we're not upset,' said Kimberly. 'We're calm because we walked away.' Since the crash, the entirety of their living room has been gutted and cleaned out, along with nearly everything in it. The Donlows say insurance can only replace some of it. But despite it all, they're keeping a positive outlook, saying that this is instead an opportunity for the person who hit their home to turn their life around. 'If you need help, you need help. Why put somebody in jail if you need that help?' said Kimberly. Police are currently working on filing charges against the driver, but none have been announced yet. When the driver does appear in court, the Donlows say they will be there on the driver's behalf. 'We can't be mad at him, upset or whatever,' said Dwayne Donlows, homeowner. 'Nobody lost their life. Material things, whatever got damaged, those things can be replaced.' 'It's a blessing and a testimony to what's going on in our life and what's going on in his life,' said Kimberly. 'The world is already rough as it is, so the best thing we can do is just pray and keep going.' 2 men charged in police pursuit, wrong-way crash on I-75
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two people accused in the police pursuit that led to a 6-car, wrong-way crash on I-75 are now facing charges. Last Thursday, a pickup truck with four occupants inside was pursued by police as it sped through Dayton highways in the wrong direction. New dashcam footage shows just how large scale that pursuit was. New video shows wrong-way driver crashing into 5 cars on I-75 Cruiser video obtained from Perry Township law enforcement shows the 50-minute pursuit that led police from the outskirts of Dayton onto US-35 and then onto I-75. The pursuit started in Perry Township, as police began pursuing a GMC Sierra truck in the early evening hours of June 5. Dash camera footage features communication with a police helicopter overhead and the cruisers on the ground during the chase. Police deployed stop sticks, but the GMC drove right over them, reportedly refusing to stop for officers. The alleged driver has been identified as 46-year-old James Collins of Dayton. The chase continued across township roads until the truck entered US-35, driving in the wrong direction against traffic. That's when law enforcement noticed an occupant in the bed of the truck. 'Hey, there's actually somebody, in the bed of the pickup truck. White male, with gray shirt and black pants.' said one officer over the dashcam footage. 'Yeah, he's trying to dump boards, use caution guys, he's trying to dump boards on you.' That man, identified as 49-year-old Thomas Downey of Dayton, was dumping items onto the road in an attempt to stop law enforcement, including planks of wood. Dashcam confirms what officers have previously reported — the chase was stopped momentarily several times, both in the name of public safety, and to clean up the mess. Once the truck made its way onto I-75, driving south in the northbound lanes, it was just minutes before a multi-vehicle crash occurred. The truck collided with five other vehicles, leaving several other people injured. Four suspects fled the GMC truck, leading police on a short foot chase before they were all arrested and transported to the hospital. Both Collins and Downey are facing three charges, including fleeing and eluding, vehicular assault and obstructing official business.
