ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)EDGE Group, one of the world's leading advanced technology and defence groups, has entered a strategic partnership with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).The agreement covers two major financial initiatives: the implementation of FAB's advanced Supply Chain Finance (SCF) solution and the deployment of its AI-powered Treasury Management System (TMS).Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE, said, 'Our partnership with FAB is a strategic enabler of EDGE's global industrial ambitions. It reinforces the financial architecture required to operate at scale, with speed and resilience. We recognise that effective cash flow and supply chain finance are fundamental to sustainable business models. By combining our global expertise with innovative financial solutions, we are enhancing financial agility and enabling long-term value creation.'Through FAB's digital SCF solution, EDGE provides local and international suppliers access to early, low-cost financing, which enhances supplier trust, improves commercial terms, and ensures continuity across critical operations.EDGE's deployment of FAB's AI-powered TMS represents the largest to date. The solution delivers real-time cash visibility, advanced forecasting capabilities, and integrated risk management tools, enabling EDGE to automate treasury operations and optimise liquidity across the Group.The platform provides protection for interest rate risk and FX risk while improving financial agility, investment planning, and funding.Rodrigo Torres, Group Chief Financial Officer of EDGE, said, 'This partnership reflects EDGE's commitment to embedding financial sophistication and innovation at the core of our operations. He added that to date, over Dh1.6 billion in invoices have been processed, unlocking more than Dh 1.2 billion in off-balance sheet financing. These solutions enable real-time cash control, intelligent forecasting, and stronger financial governance across the Group – all of which are critical to supporting the long-term growth strategy and industrial objectives.

8 Aug 2025 16:24 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)Dubai Electricity and Water Authority PJSC, on Friday, reported its first half 2025 consolidated financial results, recording first half revenue of Dh14.6 billion, EBITDA of Dh7.0 billion, operating profit of Dh3.7 billion, net profit of Dh2.9 billion and cash from operations of Dh9.2 Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman and MD & CEO of DEWA, said, 'We are proud to report DEWA's strongest-ever financial results for both the 2nd quarter and first half of 2025 - a reflection of disciplined execution, growing demand, and our commitment to operational excellence. In H1 2025, we achieved Dh 14.6 billion in revenue, Dh 7.0 billion in EBITDA, and Dh 2.9 billion in net profit - marking growth of 6.9%, 5.3%, and 13.2% respectively. Operating cash flow reached a record Dh9.2 billion, up 61.3% year-on-year. Additionally, we approved a dividend of Dh 3.1 billion for H1 2025, payable in October 2025. To date, we have invested over Dh230 billion in state-of-the-art infrastructure."He added, "Our results demonstrate the resilience of our model and the ability to generate strong returns while advancing Dubai's sustainable development. Looking ahead, we expect consistent value creation for our stakeholders, supported by Dubai's economic growth, our robust business model and our sector-leading operational benchmarks that are acknowledged to be No. 1 globally.'DEWA delivered a record financial and operational performance for the six months ended June 30, 2025. Revenue rose by 6.9% year-on-year to Dh14.6 billion, driven by continued growth in electricity and water demand, as well as steady expansion in district cooling through Empower. EBITDA increased by 5.3% to Dh7.0 billion, supported by improved operating efficiencies and effective cost control across core segments, highlighting the Group's strong underlying profitability. Net profit for the period grew 13.2% to Dh2.90 billion, reflecting higher operating income and a decline in net finance costs by 15.45% compared to the same period in the previous the second quarter of 2025, DEWA's total energy generation, Including Energy import from IPPs, soared to a high of 16.9 TWh, marking a 10.88% increase from the 15.3 TWh recorded during the second quarter of 2024. Notably, DEWA generated 3.3 TWh of clean energy during the quarter. This clean energy accounted for 19.46% of the total energy generated in Q2, 2025. DEWA is committed to using clean energy to maintain a sustainable generation mix to meet the consistently growing demand. In addition, DEWA delivered 2.18 TWh from the Hassyan power plant and 11.46 TWh from its remaining generation portfolio during the second quarter of 2025. DEWA experienced a 2.95% increase in its quarterly peak power demand compared to Q2, 2024, reaching 10.545 GW. The quarterly gross heat rate of 7,693 BTU/kWh achieved represents a stellar 7.01% improvement over the same period from the previous year. Collectively, these achievements highlight the company's unwavering commitment to delivering operational excellence while facing very strong top-line total desalinated water production in the second quarter of 2025 grew by 9.55% compared to the previous year, reaching a record of 40.78 billion Imperial Gallons (BIG). The peak daily desalinated water demand reached 475 MIG, which is a 5.87% increase over the same period of the previous the end of the second quarter of 2025, DEWA served 1,292,487 customer accounts, representing a 4.81% increase in customer accounts from the same period in the last year. In the second quarter of 2025, DEWA commissioned two 132 kV substations and four hundred and eighty-three 11kV substations. By the end of the first half of 2025, the company's system-installed generation capacity reached 17.979 GW, with 3.860 GW of this capacity representing renewable energy.

NSA and EDGE launch Space Mission and Satellite Engineering Programme

Participants will benefit from hands-on training, access to national space projects and exclusive networking opportunities with industry leaders. The National Space Academy, a UAE Space Agency initiative dedicated to developing a skilled and future-ready national workforce, has launched the Space Mission and Satellite Engineering Programme (SMSE) in partnership with EDGE. Delivered in collaboration with EDGE entities FADA and BEACON RED, the SMSE programme aims to build the UAE’s next generation of satellite engineers, system architects, and mission leaders through hands-on space mission systems training. The programme equips Emirati professionals, researchers, and graduates with specialised expertise in satellite mission design, space systems engineering, and mission operations, positioning them to support and accelerate the development of the UAE’s space capabilities. H.E. Eng. Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, commented: 'Preparing local talents is a fundamental pillar of the UAE Space Agency's strategy to ensure the sustainability of the space sector. We are committed to qualifying and training young local cadres and honing their skills according to the highest international standards to efficiently lead future space initiatives and missions, while strengthening the UAE's position as a global driver of innovation and scientific and technological advancement.' Al Qubaisi continued: 'Through the National Space Academy, one of our transformational projects, and the courses it offers, we seek to develop an integrated educational and training system that combines theoretical and practical aspects and meets the needs of the labour market. This is a significant step to support the UAE’s ability to keep pace with the requirements of the next phase.' The ten-week programme, taking place from 16 September to 20 November 2025 at the UAE Space Agency’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, BEACON RED’s advanced training centre, and FADA’s facilities, combines in-person technical training with online modules led by a distinguished roster of local and international industry experts. Participants will gain practical experience across five core modules, including Designing Space Missions (DSM), Applied Space Systems Engineering (ASSE), Space System Verification and Validation (SSVV), Space Mission Operations (SMO), and a Central Case Project (CCP) simulating the end-to-end planning, design, and justification of a real satellite mission. The curriculum is designed to deliver in-depth technical training through hands-on laboratory work and project applications using industry-standard tools and software, while fostering a strategic understanding of operational planning through site visits to leading UAE aerospace and technology organisations. Open exclusively to UAE nationals, the programme targets professionals working in government or private sector organisations within the space industry, as well as academic researchers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. It also welcomes applications from graduates holding a bachelor’s degree or higher qualifications.
