PM Modi brought Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to deliver justice to people: Meghwal
Speaking at the inauguration of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) at Delhi Assembly, Meghwal said, "I am told that the three new criminal laws have been fully implemented in Delhi.
"The Britishers brought the Indian Penal Code to punish Indians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to give justice to Indians."
NeVA is a flagship project of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs designed to create a paperless legislative environment across India.
Talking about the implementation of NeVA, the minister said there were talks about it being implemented earlier also.
"I don't know what the previous government thought but it was not implemented," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said her government will bring a bill to regulate school fee hike in the Assembly session commencing Monday.
"The previous government did not do anything to regulate school fees. It spoke about the issue but nothing was done. We will introduce a bill to regulate school fees," she said.

Bengal BJP netas talk poll roll revision with Shah, Nadda
Kolkata: Union home minister Amit Shah and the party's national president J P Nadda on Monday met key party workers from Bengal and those in-charge of the state. Bengal BJP netas indicated that revision of the voters' list was among the key agendas during the two-and-a-half-hour-long meeting in New Delhi. The meeting, which started around 4.30pm, was attended by national general secretaries Sunil Bansal and B L Santhosh, Bengal minders Amit Malviya and Mangal Pandey, state's general secretary (organisation) Amitava Chakraborty, joint general secretary (organisation) Satish Dhond, state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya and Union minister Sukanta Majumdar. Before the meeting with Shah, the Bengal BJP politicians had held a two-hour-long meeting at the Delhi residence of Sukanta Majumdar. 1 2 Patiala: A big crowd of demonstrators marched through this Punjab city on Monday, demanding the release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their jail terms and calling for tougher laws against the desecration of religious scriptures. The protest, led by the Quami Insaaf Morcha and supported by a broad coalition of social, political, religious, and community organisations, began at PUDA Ground and ended at the deputy commissioner's office. Protesters raised slogans against both the Punjab and central govts along with burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing them of inaction on long-standing religious and human rights concerns.
