On June 15, 2025, Michigan teacher and activist Tarek Bazzi, affiliated with the Hadi Institute, shared two consecutive videos on his Instagram story. In the first, he praised 'the resistance and its people,' saying they are fighting 'in the way of God,' on behalf of all humanity, against the 'arrogant and tyrannical forces of U.S. imperialism and Zionist colonialism.'
In the next story, Bazzi shared an AI-animated video depicting Iranian military forces destroying Israel. The clip opens with Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei leaning on a rifle and addressing IRGC commanders, declaring: 'The beginning of the end has arrived.' The video, titled True Promise, the name of Iran's anti-Israel military campaign, was created by Zill-E-Abbas Khwaja, a UK-based creative AI generator, and posted to the Shadow of Abbas Instagram account.
It is worth noting that Bazzi was the MC of the April 2024 Al-Quds Day rally in Dearborn, where the crowd chanted 'Death to America!' Usama Abdulghani, who also spoke at the rally, said in a June 12, 2025 Friday sermon at the Hadi Institute that Iran is doing a favor for mankind by attacking Israel.

Iran launches tenth wave of strikes on Israel

Shafaq News/ On Tuesday evening, Iran launched the tenth phase of Operation True Promise 3 in its fifth day. The Operation, carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), involved launching ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles toward Israeli targets, according to Iranian media. Earlier, the Israeli military detected launches targeting Tel Aviv and surrounding areas. Army Radio reported the tracking of ten projectiles, while the Home Front Command issued emergency alerts and activated sirens across central Israel, in addition to Dimona and areas in the Negev. Strikes continue to escalate between Tehran and Tel Aviv, with drone and missile barrages from Iran targeting "strategic Israeli weapons and sites," and Israeli airstrikes on "military and nuclear sites."

Iranian mobile launchers slash warning times

Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, Iran drew up strategic contingency plans aimed at countering Tel Aviv, as Israeli strikes intensified. Israeli Home Front warned citizens that missile alerts may no longer be issued with a 30-minute lead time due to changes in Iran's missile-launch tactics, adding that future alerts may come as little as 10 minutes before impact. Tehran has reportedly shifted from fixed launch sites to mobile platforms—using 3–4 launchers that fire quickly and relocate immediately—significantly reducing early warning capabilities, according to an official statement cited by Israeli media. Meanwhile, Tehran has designated ten alternates for each critical leadership position to prevent disruption in the chain of command if key figures are killed, a source told Fars News Agency. The changes come as Israel intensifies its campaign against Iranian military infrastructure. Iranian air defenses engaged hostile targets in multiple locations, and explosions were heard in northern and eastern Isfahan as defense units responded to incoming missiles. Iranian media reported that an Israeli drone was also intercepted near the city of Malayer before reaching its target. The Israeli army confirmed it launched fresh airstrikes targeting multiple surface-to-surface missile launch platforms in the Mets region of Iran.

From proxy war to open conflict: The collapse of Israel–Iran deterrence

Shafaq News/ The long-standing shadow war between Israel and Iran has now entered its most dangerous phase. The transition from covert strikes and proxy skirmishes to direct missile exchanges across national borders marks a collapse of regional deterrence frameworks that had—however tenuously—held for over a decade. This dramatic rupture became undeniable when Israeli forces launched Operation Rising Lion, a large-scale assault on Iranian soil targeting nuclear facilities and senior Revolutionary Guard figures. Iran responded within hours with True Promise 3, unleashing hundreds of missiles and drones on Israeli cities, including Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Petah Tikva. 'This is not a spontaneous conflict,' says Dr. Haitham al-Hiti, a political scientist at the University of Exeter. 'It's part of a broader regional restructuring—starting with Hezbollah assassinations, now moving through Iran's command structure, and possibly reaching Iraq and Lebanon.' In this new phase, neither Israel's military supremacy nor Iran's rhetorical threats succeeded in deterring the other. Both sides crossed long-standing red lines, especially the taboo against direct state-to-state missile warfare. Lebanese analyst George Alam underscores the strategic risks. 'Saudi Arabia is conducting wide-reaching communications with Washington, Tehran, and Europe to push for a temporary truce,' he notes, 'but the UN can't move freely without US approval—making any initiative vulnerable to obstruction.' While diplomatic channels stall, the battlefield speaks louder. Iran's missile response struck both military and civilian targets. Israeli officials confirmed damage to civilian shelters and key infrastructure. Iran, in turn, suffered the loss of senior IRGC leaders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. This breakdown in mutual restraint is not just tactical—it's deeply structural. 'Iran will not stop the war now,' says Saudi analyst Mohammed Hayoudi. 'The Israeli strike was massive, and it coincides with structural shifts in Syria, Israel's rising influence, and Washington's renewed presence in the region.' These dynamics suggest that deterrence no longer functions as a stabilizing mechanism but rather as a catalyst for escalation. The former logic of "mutual hesitation" has been replaced by a race to impose facts on the ground. Dr. Ramadan al-Badran, a Washington-based political analyst, points to a disturbing new phase. 'Missiles are now hitting civilian and economic infrastructure, not just military sites. This points to a breakdown of mutual deterrence and suggests all parties are waiting for exhaustion before even considering negotiations.' In strategic terms, deterrence has given way to action without inhibition. This conflict is no longer about messaging or red lines; it's about reshaping the strategic environment through force. If deterrence was ever a balancing tool between these rivals, it no longer holds. And without a stabilizing doctrine or credible diplomatic fallback, the region may be entering a cycle of self-perpetuating escalation—one that could drag surrounding states into its vortex.
