Jazz 'Dream Trade Target' Lays Blueprint for Deal with Spurs
Jazz 'Dream Trade Target' Lays Blueprint for Deal with Spurs originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The San Antonio Spurs are expected to make a massive move this NBA offseason, although the "shock factor" remains to be seen. Drafting Dylan Harper second overall would certainly be a big move, although, at this point, it is to be expected. Advertisement Still, the Spurs could make a blockbuster trade, either for Kevin Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo, to bolster their title hopes around Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs could pivot, and both Cam Johnson and Lauri Markkanen seem like viable targets. While the Utah Jazz would love to get their hands on the second overall pick, the Spurs might have a player they would covet just as much. "Sochan lost his starting job in San Antonio this past season," pointed out Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz. "Both could use a fresh start on a team in need of their scoring, defense, and passing." Jeremy Sochan was listed third on the Jazz's dream trade targets, and the Spurs could flip him in a deal for Markkanen, although it would cost a lot more than just the Polish forward. Advertisement The Spurs could, in theory, trade Sochan, Harrison Barnes, Keldon Johnson, and the 14th overall pick to the Jazz for Markkanen, giving them a lineup of Wembanyama, Markkanen, De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Devin Vassell, with Harper and Julian Champagnie coming off the bench. The Spurs would have enough money left over to pursue free agent center Brook Lopez, Clint Capela, or even Naz Reid. While the Silver and Black are most likely going to hold pat and build organically this offseason, the team has no shortage of options. Even Saquon Barkley needed help to re-create his hurdle for ‘Madden 26'
Sure, Saquon Barkley won offensive player of the year honors and set an NFL rushing record while helping the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl, but all that still might not have gotten him onto the EA Sports Madden cover. What could really have put him over the top — literally — was his incredible leap over a Jacksonville Jaguars player during a game in November. After juking a pair of other Jacksonville defenders, Barkley used a reverse hurdle to soar past the Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones.

Philadelphia Eagles Officially Trade Free Agency Bust
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. As expected, the Philadelphia Eagles will not roll into the 2025 NFL season with Bryce Huff on the roster. Pending a physical, the veteran defensive end will be heading out west to join the San Francisco 49ers. On Monday, the Eagles and the 49ers officially announced the move. As long as everything goes right on the physical front, the Eagles will net a 2026 mid-round draft pick from San Francisco. Huff's tenure with the Eagles was short-lived, and ultimately, goes down as disappointing, despite the team's success throughout the 2024 run, which ended with a Super Bowl LIX victory. We've agreed to trade DE Bryce Huff to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2026 mid-round draft pick, pending a physical. — Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) June 2, 2025 In 2020, Huff entered the NFL after a four-year run at Memphis. Although he was eligible to be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, Huff went through seven rounds without hearing his name called. Eventually, the New York Jets gave the young linebacker an opportunity to join their team as an undrafted prospect. After a successful summer in New York, Huff landed a chance to crack the Jets' 53-man roster ahead of opening day. During his rookie effort, Huff appeared in 14 games. He registered 16 tackles and two sacks. It became clear that the young pass rusher had a future in the league, leading him to stick around as a key contributor in New York for several seasons. Throughout his final three seasons with the Jets, Huff would appear in 40 games. He totaled 15.5 sacks, registered 39 QB hits, and nearly notched 50 tackles, with 13 going for a loss. Bryce Huff #0 of the Philadelphia Eagles stands on the sidelines during the national anthem prior to an NFL football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on September 29, 2024... Bryce Huff #0 of the Philadelphia Eagles stands on the sidelines during the national anthem prior to an NFL football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on September 29, 2024 in Tampa, Florida. MoreAfter playing multiple roles with the Jets, Huff was a flight risk in free agency. He was a restricted free agent last spring, and saw the Jets place a second-round tender on him. As the Eagles braced for a critical loss on the defensive line, they looked to fill the void by signing Huff to a three-year contract. At the time, Huff was viewed as a major acquisition for the Eagles, who hoped to contend for a Super Bowl with a strong pass rush. The Huff experience in Philadelphia didn't go as planned. The veteran appeared in just 12 games for the Eagles, starting in half of those matchups. He collected under three sacks and had just 13 tackles to show for at the end of the regular season. Amid the Eagles' Super Bowl run, Huff played in just two games. He didn't produce any stats as the Eagles flew their way through the NFL Playoffs and landed in New Orleans for the Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs. Although Huff wraps up his Eagles tenure on a low note, he'll get a chance to bounce back with the 49ers. While the veteran pass rusher is still getting paid a notable salary as he enters year two of his $51 million deal, one bad year in Philadelphia doesn't guarantee he can't get back on track when he joins the 49ers for the start of the 2025 NFL season.
