MasterChef Australia star Mandy Hall reveals shock health scare that left her hospitalised
The reality TV veteran, who appeared as a contestant on the show in 2019, recently shared a photo to social media of her lying in a hospital bed and captioned it with some alarming words.
'For the last few months, I've been dealing with some health stuff. Annoying, occasionally a bit scary. Every time I did cardio, it felt like a clamp was tightening around my chest. Spoiler, it did not get better,' Mandy began.
'By Good Friday, things escalated. I was struggling at the gym, struggling more at home. My trainer told me to stop and get checked out. I attempted to wait until after the long weekend (solid 0/10 plan).'
The mother-of-one added the condition got worse and she was forced to go to the hospital for treatment.
'Three days ago I ended up in emergency. Then early this morning, they popped a balloon stent into my heart to deal with a blockage that had been sitting there like an uninvited guest at the world's worst dinner party,' she said.
Mandy assured fans she was fine and warned them not to ignore problems with their body.
'I'm genuinely and seriously fine, and I'll be back at it by Monday. But here's the thing: listen to your body. That weird tightness, that discomfort you're brushing off? It's not always nothing,' she wrote.
'Take care of you. Don't be a hero. Go to the doctor.'
Many of Mandy's celebrity friends took to the comment section to offer words of support.
'Get well soon,' wrote fellow MasterChef veteran Kishwar Chowdhury and TV presenter Rebecca Morse chipped in: 'You poor love! Rest up.'
Mandy was a contestant on season 11 of MasterChef Australia in 2019.
The upcoming season of the long-running program sees 24 past contestants come back to win the MasterChef trophy and $250,000 in prize money.
Among the cast are MasterChef fan favourites, including season one's Andre Ursini, Sarah Todd from season 14 and Tim Bone from season 11.
And already fans of the cooking competition have emerged with a theory about who will be crowned the winner.
Viewers have gone online to speculate that the producers have spoiled the show after dropping a promo poster showing just six of the 24 contestants who will battle it out in the kitchen.
The featured contestants are lined up in the image and appear in various sizes, including Laura Sharrad who starred in seasons 6 and 12.
Also appearing in the promo are season 16's Savindri Perera and Darrsh Clarke as well as Tim Bone from season 11.
There's also Declan Cleary from season 15, while the image of fan favourite Steph De Sousa from season 11 looms largest in the poster.
Many fans felt Laura Sharrad was a shoe-in based on her appearance on the poster.

This condition is caused by a different virus, resulting in wart-like growths that may ooze fluid but usually heal on their own, and is more common in US gray squirrels. In either case, wildlife experts believe homeowners who put bird feeders in their yards may be unintentionally causing the virus to spread to more squirrels throughout North America. Shevenell Webb from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said: 'It's like when you get a large concentration of people. If someone is sick and it's something that spreads easily, others are going to catch it.' Wildlife officials noted that sightings tend to rise during the summer when more animals are out gathering food, especially from homes that put out bird feeders. 'Like a lot of people, I love watching birds,' Webb said. 'Unfortunately, you can attract multiple [squirrels] to that feeder and risk exposure if one has the virus.' The expert explained that squirrels with fibromatosis can leave their saliva on uneaten bird seed at these feeders, which healthy animals can then ingest and contract the virus. A professional housekeeper has revealed the 'most disgusting' item they find in people's homes. Taking to Reddit, the cleaner revealed that toothbrush holder cups were 'one of the most disgusting things' they've encountered in 'almost anybody's bathroom' during 15 years cleaning homes. The seasoned cleaner admitted that the smells emerging from these cups have sometimes been more than they 'could handle', leaving them retching during work. In a Reddit post that attracted more than 700 comments, the anonymous housekeeper said: 'The smells that I've encountered from cleaning these cups for years is sometimes more than I could handle... 'But like I said I'm a professional so I just swallow that back down and continue cleaning.' The cleaner challenged those on the platform to 'go take a whiff' of their own cups and dispose of them immediately if 'it causes your soul to temporarily leave your body'. They said that people have no idea how much bacteria remains on a toothbrush after brushing, which then sinks to the bottom of the cup where it 'has a nice dark, moist place to grow and grow.' Chantel Mila, from Melbourne, is known for sharing her helpful tips with her 1.5million TikTok followers and said you'll wish you knew the latest three hacks sooner. The insights are also a suitable alternative for those who wish to avoid using harsh chemicals while cleaning. First, Chantel shared a simple way to remove unwanted scratches from plates and bowls instantly. The clever mother made a paste by combining equal parts dish soap and baking soda then used a sponge to gently 'scrub away' the marks. Within seconds the white kitchen plate was rid of scratches made from cutlery. Next, to remove the musty smell from her dishwasher, Chantel emptied the appliance then scattered baking soda everywhere inside. She then ran the dishwasher on a hot cycle to remove the odours. Lastly, it may come as a surprise to some but Chantel mopped the tiles in her bathroom using shaving cream to 'neutralise odours'. In another video she's previously used shaving cream to 'buff' her bathroom mirror and shower. The insightful video has since exceeded more than 25,000 views within three days. Last year Chantel revealed her homemade formula which gets rid of mould in your shower and stops it from coming back. She creates a mould-killing recipe using just two tablespoons of dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, and six-to-eight drops of tea tree oil. The mother-of-two pours all the ingredients into a dish brush and scrubs the grout in her bathroom. 'The dish brush makes cleaning so quick and easy, while the hydrogen peroxide and dish soap cut through tough grime and mould,' she said in a video. If left untreated, mould can cause respiratory problems because it produces allergens, irritants, and sometimes toxic substances. 'The hydrogen peroxide helps whiten the tiles and get rid of tough mould in your shower,' Chantel added. 'While the tea tree oil removes the mould spores and keeps them away.' The mother shared that you could use the mixture on grout, tiles, and even your shower door seal. She typically scrubs the solution everywhere and leaves it to soak for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Clove oil is also a suitable substitute for tea tree oil when it comes to ridding your home of mould. The mother noted that it was essential to use discretion before using essential oils in homes with pets or small children because some of it could be toxic.
