
Jordan sees 6% rise in GCC overnight tourist arrivals in H1
The Kingdom saw a 6 per cent increase in overnight tourist arrivals from GCC countries, reaching 633,000 visitors in the first six months of 2025, compared to 597,000 in 2024.
Saudi Arabia topped the list of GCC countries in terms of tourist numbers to Jordan, with 564,000 overnight visitors, reflecting an 8 per cent increase compared to the first half of 2024.
Meanwhile, the UAE recorded a 15 per cent increase in overnight visitors, reaching 10,000 tourists, whereas Kuwait saw an 11 per cent decline to 32,000 overnight visitors.
On a broader scale, Jordan welcomed 2.717 million overnight tourists in the first half of 2025, marking a 14 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
Europe contributed 191,000 visitors, North America 79,000, and Asia 84,000.
Jordan's major tourist sites also experienced a surge in footfall.
The ancient city of Petra welcomed 200,000 foreign visitors, with a 17 per cent growth.
Mount Nebo recorded a 12 per cent increase with 105,000 visitors, and Jerash attracted around 69,000 foreign tourists.
Commenting on the figures, Dr Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, said: "These positive results reflect the growing trust of international and especially Gulf tourists in Jordan's tourism offering. Despite the geopolitical challenges facing the region, our proximity, as well as our shared traditions and cultural values, continue to make Jordan a natural and preferred destination for families and individuals from the Gulf. We remain committed to developing memorable tourism experiences that meet visitor expectations and look forward to achieving even stronger results in the second half of the year."

Saudi: Elm posts 30.5% higher net profits in H1-25; dividends announced
Elm Company reported net profits worth SAR 1.08 billion in the first half (H1) of 2025, marking a 30.56% year-on-year (YoY) surge from SAR 831 million. Revenues grew by 21.02% to SAR 4.12 billion in H1-25 from SAR 3.40 billion in the same period a year earlier, according to the interim financial results. The earnings per share (EPS) climbed to SAR 13.95 in the first six months (6M) of 2025 from SAR 10.70 in H1-24. Financials for Q2 In the second quarter (Q2) of 2025, Elm's net profits hiked by 21.14% to SAR 590 million from SAR 487 million in Q2-24. The Tadawul-listed company generated revenues of SAR 2.24 billion in Q2-25, higher by 27.05% than SAR 1.76 billion in April-June 2024. Quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), the Q2-25 net profits increased by 19.19% from SAR 495 million in January-March 2025, while the revenues rose by 19.60% compared to SAR 1.87 billion. Dividends The board of Elm announced cash dividends amounting to SAR 350.37 million, representing 45% of the company's SAR 800 million capital, for H1-25. Saudi: Tabuk Cement's H1-25 net profits fall over 42.5%; dividends unveiled
Tabuk Cement Company reported 42.73% lower net profits at SAR 27.17 million in the first half (H1) of 2025, compared to SAR 47.45 million in H1-24. Revenues shrank by 20.51% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 137.09 million in the first six months (6M) of 2025 from SAR 172.48 million, according to the interim financial results. The earnings per share (EPS) dropped to SAR 0.30 in H1-25 from SAR 0.53 in the same period a year earlier. Results for Q2 In the second quarter (Q2) of 2025, the net profits of Tabuk Cement plunged by 51.70% to SAR 14.13 million from SAR 29.26 million in Q2-24. Revenues stood at SAR 69.41 million in April-June 2025, marking an annual decline of 18.76% from SAR 85.44 million.
