First trailer for Fallout season two confirms introduction of iconic characters
The first trailer for Fallout season two confirms the introduction of iconic characters from the original game series.
It also confirmed the release date for the return of the beloved Prime Video series. Fans can now look forward to new episodes on December 17. The new season will pick up in the aftermath of Season One's epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.
The show's release date and newly released footage were both announced at Gamescom's Opening Night Live event in Cologne. Gamescom is an annual convention for video games which brings developers, publishers and fans together in one place.
A two hour live stream hosted by Geoff Keighley shares the latest trailers for new and upcoming games. It often shares extra surprises along the way.
This year, Fallout showrunner Jonathan Nolan was joined on stage by other members of his creative team and star Ella Purnell to tease the return of the show. Nolan confirmed as writers there was a character from the game series they were fascinated with and wondered if they could bring to the series.
They then revealed the first teaser trailer for Fallout season two. It wasn't long before fans realised who they were talking about.
Footage shown confirms that Justin Theroux is joining the show and will be playing iconic character Mr House. In the game, Mr House is the ruler of New Vegas who uses several robots and security cameras to keep an eye on things.
It also confirms that fans will see a Deathclaw for the first time in the show. These creatures are a formidable foe for Fallout players and are a race of genetically engineered reptiles made to replace some soldiers on the battlefield for high risk missions.
However, there were plenty more Easter Eggs packed into the trailer that fans are already unpacking. At one point, Lucy fires a gun and the bullet can be seen moving in slow motion.
Not only does this seem to be referring the VATs combat system in the game where players can slow down time, but it also recreates the game Fallout New Vegas' opening scene, where a sniper makes an identical shot.
There's also familiar locations spotted as one fan noted: "Deathclaws, Mr House, the Legion, VICTOR, Ella in the Dino's Mouth at Novac…. I can't cope, this is going to be amazing!"
Another added: "It's so peak... all these locations, characters and vats... It brings so many memories."

Tommy Fury shares secret addiction alongside alcohol that makes him 'feel guilty'
Tommy Fury has opened up about his "many addictions" in his BBC Three documentary Tommy: The Good, The Bad, The Fury, with the 26-year-old admitting he "can't do things by halves" Tommy Fury has opened up about suffering with "many addictions" in his new documentary, after admitting earlier this year that he had an alcohol problem. The boxer and ex Love Island contestant stars in his own series on BBC Three - Tommy: The Good, The Bad, The Fury. The show follows Tommy as he opens up about his split from ex-fiancé Molly-Mae Hague and his efforts to get back in the boxing ring after injuring his hand. Tommy and Molly-Mae, who share daughter Bambi, reconciled earlier this year with the pair confirming their reunion in May during Molly-Mae's Prime Video reality show. It comes after Tommy Fury admits to alcohol problem as he opens up on Molly-Mae Hague split. In January, Tommy said that he had never cheated on Molly-Mae and that they split after he became "addicted to alcohol". Now, Tommy has revealed that alcohol is not his only addiction in his BBC Three documentary. Speaking to the cameras, Tommy said: "I can't do things by half measures and that's a big problem. I've got many addictions. I love junk food. If I could, I'd sit there and eat junk food every day, all day. "Every morning, if I don't get up for a run, I'm having a bad day and I know a lot of fighters and they're all the same. If they're drinking after the fight, they can't just have one. They'll have a million." He added: "You just feel guilty all the time, don't you? Because it's not the right thing to be doing. "But then what is? Getting punched in the head every day?" The series follows Tommy has he trains for his comeback fight in Budapest under the guidance of his dad John. In one scene, viewers watch as John warns Tommy not to visit Molly-Mae and their daughter Bambi on Christmas Day. "I can't see on Christmas Day picking the baby up saying Merry Christmas. I can't see that's going to lead me to win a fight or not. You've got to be happy," Tommy told his dad. He replied: "You're not doing that this time. You're not - I don't care if you're happy or not. Listen - no. You come back, you have your Christmas, you hold the baby. All of a sudden you get a knell on your record for that. "You'll never look them in the same light again. Family or not family. You'll resent them," he said.
