"I've been separated from my ex husband for three years. We get on really well.
"We still live at home together, but of course, I want some adult company. I can't just sit and be with children all day, every day.
"I like that time out - being away from home when I'm working - but I haven't got that time out being away from home not working and just enjoying some adult company.
"I haven't had that, so I got the opportunity and thought, You know what? Why not? I understand myself, so I'll be fine.
"I'll manage it and it was just a step too far."
The alum continued: "I found it quite overwhelming, so I listened to myself and I'm really, really proud that I recognised how I felt...
"I went home to my children after two weeks. I was supposed to do 10 weeks of filming - and I'd done two weeks - and I'm really, really proud of myself that I did what was right for me."
She added: "If something doesn't feel right for you, physically, mentally, emotionally, it's okay to leave.
"That's something I tell my children quite a lot, because being autistic, you can stay and do what other people want you to do.
"I think it's really, really important to know that you can leave the party, you can leave the job, leave the event, you can leave the relationship at any time."
Christine McGuinness had 'fun' fling with top soap actress after pair met at awards ceremony following split from Paddy
Paddy and Christine announced they had separated in 2022 after 15 years together.
The pair still live together for the sake of their children, despite the split.
Christine spoke out about her sexuality for the first time recently, revealing she has dated both sexes since she was a teen.
The Sun revealed her fling with a leading soap actress earlier this month.
Their encounter came in 2023, the year after Christine split from her ex-Top Gear host husband, Paddy McGuinness, 51.
The well-known actress, whom we are not naming, has previously been in relationships with men.
Months after their marriage ended, Christine was pictured kissing singer Chelcee Grimes, 33.
It has been revealed how Christine got "incredibly close" to footballer Chelcee before splitting from husband Paddy, 51.
Yet the songwriter's recent fallout with pal Christine recently came to light, with the real reason for the pair's toxic spat revealed.
The former couple have since disconnected on social media.
Paddy and Christine first met through a mutual friend in 2007, when she was 19 and he was 33.
In 2020, she was diagnosed with autism and ADHD after spending the majority of her life confused as to why she acted differently from everyone else growing up.
Since then, the TV star has been raising awareness for it through interviews, television shows and public speaking.

Christine on Celebs Go Dating
Christine walked away from Celebs Go Dating after admitting she wasn't ready to date in the public eye
In May 2025 Christine announced she had left the show after becoming overwhelmed with the attention on her love life and missing her family.
In a statement, Christine said: ' I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me.
'They've said the door is always open for me, which I'm so grateful for, but for now I'm returning home to my family.'
A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson added: 'We have loved having Christine on the show and completely respect her feelings and decision to return home and have told her that the door is always open for her in the future at the agency.'

Meet the Lionesses super-fan who spends thousands travelling the world to cheer them on - and even has her own themed pub in her garden!
A Lionesses super-fan says she spends £4,000 a year following England and Arsenal. Zoe Bleach, 42, has even installed a £3,000 pub in her back garden, dubbed The Lionesses Den, to cheer them on from Gravesend, Kent, when she's not travelling. She has a collection of Lionesses memorabilia worth around £1,000 - a dream for a lady who fell in love with the beautiful game aged two. Bleach speaks ahead of Tuesday night's semi-final clash with Italy, as research from Amazon's Chatterbox series shows a quarter of British women (25%) believe football is what the UK does best. 'I would say I spend £4,000 a year supporting the Arsenal and England women's teams - the game tickets and travelling all add up,' she said. 'For Euro 2022 I booked tickets for most of the games including the final. I basically took a whole month off to watch the Lionesses. England will play Italy on Tuesday night as they bid for a place in the final of the women's Euros 'I went to Brighton twice, Southampton, Northern Ireland and to Wembley. I spent around £2,000 travelling and buying merchandise on that tournament alone. 'My biggest ever football trip was in 2003, when I travelled to the USA and went on a 16-hour road trip between Mississippi and Washington DC to watch five professional women's soccer matches played in the WUSA league. 'I met Kelly Smith there, and I've never been so starstruck in all my life. I couldn't even remember my name. I didn't know my name, I didn't know where I was from. 'She came and spoke to us for about 10 minutes. It was such a surreal moment in my life. I was so excited to meet her because she was my idol. She is absolutely the best player in the world.' In 2023, Bleach and her partner Elizabeth spent five months building The Lionesses Den to watch the Women's World Cup, where England finished runners-up to Spain. 'It cost us about £3,000 and we have signed shirts from Beth Mead and Kelly Smith, signed autographs from Lucy Bronze and Mary Earps and pictures of me with Leah Williamson. 'The whole collection is probably worth around £1,000. 'It might have been a lot to spend, but we use the pub easily once or twice a week and we love it. I don't regret a single penny I've spent supporting the Lionesses.'

Geordie Shore star Kyle Christie ties the knot with 'Miss Newcastle' Vicky Turner in front of co-stars at 'wedding of the year' in Rome - as his ex Holly Hagan has her say from back home
Geordie Shore star Kyle Christie celebrated his marriage to model Vicky Turner in Rome on Sunday in a ceremony dubbed 'the wedding of the year'. After legally tying the knot back home in December, the happy couple invited a host of their co-stars to the Italian capital to enjoy a second ceremony over the weekend. With the big day reportedly filmed and set to feature on the new series of Geordie Shore, reality TV fan-favourites such as James Tindale, Sophie Kasaei and Jordan Brook were all in attendance. And they shared a host of snaps of their pals' 'beautiful' celebration to social media, showing Kyle and Vicky beaming as they enjoyed the occasion in sunny Italy. One video posted by Chloe Ferry showed the husband and wife sharing their first kiss in front of guests as a blaze of rainbow-coloured smoke shot up behind them. While a later video showed Kyle, sporting a changed all-black tux, and Vicky, who had slipped into a dazzling sparkly dress, cutting their cake together at the evening's reception. Sharing a host of pictures from the big day to his Instagram, Kyle wrote: 'Mr & Mrs Christie. 20.07.25' The newlyweds' guests and celebrity pals took to the comments section to congratulate them, with some dubbing the ceremony 'the wedding of the year'. Former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby, who was not present, wrote: 'Oh wow congratulations both of you what a beautiful day!' James Tindale commented: 'The most perfect wedding to ever exist wow! Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day xx' 'What a day! So so happy for you, Congratulations, love you both,' Jordan Brook added. While Holly Hagan, who dated Kyle for three years during their time on the show together, even took to the comments section, writing: 'Congratulations to you both'. Despite both Kyle and Holly rejoining the popular reality show for its reunion series, the 32-year-old brunette beauty was reportedly not invited to the wedding. After rumours that the big day could be filmed began swirling a couple of months ago, a source confirmed that Holly wouldn't be in attendance alongside her castmates. The source told The Sun at the time: 'It's not that there is bad blood between them, as the relationship ended a long time ago, but they don't really have much to do with each other out of filming group scenes. 'Holly wouldn't be someone Kyle would add to the guest list.' On Kyle's guest list nevertheless were Geordie Shore favourites of years gone by James Tindale, Nathan Henry, Jordan Brook, Sophie Kasaei and Chloe Ferry. Chloe, who joined the show in series 10, sported an eye-catching orange dress for the occasion as she shared snaps of the ceremony to her 3.8million Instagram followers. While Sophie, who slipped into a busty brown dress in Rome, gushed about the 'incredible day' in a caption posted to her Stories. The 35-year-old stunner wrote: 'Will never get over how incredible yesterday was. I watched my friend of 20 years marry his best friend. The most perfect day with so much love in Rome!' Kyle and Vicky previously said 'I Do' at their initial ceremony at St George Church in East Baldon late last year. Kyle announced the news on Instagram accompanied by another collection of adorable snaps. In one, the couple shared a passionate kiss, while their son Crew, three, joined them for a heartwarming family portrait. Kyle and his son both looked dashing in matching black suits, while Vicky wowed in a sparkling white waistcoat paired with a satin cream skirt. Alongside the pictures, he penned: 'Legally Mr & Mrs Christie, next stop Rome,' referring to the latest ceremony. The reality star got down on one-knee back in September 2023 while on a plush private yacht in Italy in front of the picturesque backdrop of the Amalfi Coast. He dressed to impress in a crisp white shirt and beige shorts, while Vicky wowed in a gorgeous silver shimmering dress. The model looked shocked but was quick to say yes to Kyle's question, before showing off the dazzling engagement ring. The couple shared a series of hugs and kisses as they celebrated the huge milestone. Alongside the loved-up video, Kyle penned: 'Mr & Mrs Christie coming soon…here's to forever'. The couple welcomed their son Crew Jax three years earlier, with the TV star announcing the happy news with a sweet post of him cradling his baby boy in his arms. Kyle wrote: 'Crew Jax Christie. Born: 15:57, 13th September 2021 Weighing: 8 pounds 6 oz. Welcome to the world Crew you are so loved, we couldn't of asked for a more perfect little boy. Mam & Dad love you so much.'
