Nick Cassidy's entry in Formula E
Nick Cassidy made his debut in the Formula E 2020–21 season with Envision Virgin Racing.
Cassidy, who partnered with Robin Frijns at the Envision Virgin Racing team, didn't have the start he expected. He failed to score a single point in the first three races. But he was adamant and finally clinched his first pole position in Rome. The emotions were overflowing for Cassidy.
After spending three seasons with the Envision Virgin Racing team, Cassidy switched to Jaguar TCS Racing last year. He signed a multi-year contract with the team and partnered with Mitch Evans for the season.
He put all his learnings to use with the new team and had a tremendous first half of the season — two victories and six podiums.
Cassidy is enjoying his win in Shanghai now. After crossing the finish line at the Shanghai International Circuit, he was heard saying on the team radio: 'Wow, speechless. I was waiting for this day. It's been tough.'

He stood on the podium in style and laughed his heart out. 'This weekend is a massive highlight. Really proud of all our guys. Qualifying from yesterday was huge for us, we were in the game, and I'm just proud that we've come back today and our pace was absolutely unbelievable — what a race. I feel like there have been so many wins that probably should have been ours at the end of last season that never happened, and it feels like we've been waiting a long time.
That's certainly on your mind when you go through the last couple of laps, and now to get that monkey off the back is awesome,' Cassidy said after the race.

Antonio Felix Da Costa's performance in Season 11 Antonio Felix Da Costa and teammate Pascal Wehrlein led Porsche to win the Teams' and Manufacturers' World Championships. In the Drivers' Championship, he eventually finished fifth by the end of Season 11. Reflecting on his slip from the top three in the Formula E Championship, he wrote on Instagram, 'The dream of the championship ended last week. I dreamed, I dreamed big and so did you. Apparently, it was the year of '2nd places.' Seems like I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time too often. Three wins lost in the last laps because of safety cars, a few mistakes — my mixture. The season could have been so different, but that's what it is in sport, and the bad moments, if used well, are the best thing we have.
