Comedian Bharti Singh comes from humble beginnings. The first time that she took a flight was when she was called to Mumbai for a comedy show. Before that, she had experienced difficult times as a child. Her father died when she was just two years old, leaving her 22-year-old mother to fend for herself and her three children. Bharti said that her mother cleaned houses for a living, and was often made to feel lesser. This had a huge impact on Bharti's mind, and she was determined to do everything in her power to provide a better life for her mother. 'If I could erect a temple for her, I would,' she said in a recent appearance on Raj Shamani's show.
Bharti said that she treats all her staff with love and respect because she saw how her mother was treated when she worked at others' homes. 'I remember my mother would come home after some employer had scolded her. She would tell my sister about it. She would get upset if she broke a plate or something. Sometimes, she would get hurt also, and we'd see a bandage on her hand. On Diwali, we would wait for our mother eagerly, because we knew she'd get a box of sweets. We could never afford sweets. We couldn't afford firecrackers. We couldn't even imagine buying new clothes. I would get old clothes given to her by her employers,' she said.

Bharti said that her mother got married when she was 15, and by 20, she'd had three children. By 22, she was alone. 'My mother was beautiful, she had long hair. She could've easily gotten married again. But she became a house help. Kaam waali ban gayi thi logon ke ghar. Main kaam waali ki beti hoon (She became a house help. I am the daughter of a house help). I remember, some days, I would go with her when she worked. And ladies would tell her to mop up properly. They've give her leftover food, and we'd be so happy that we'd get to eat kofta or daal makhani.'
Opening up about losing her father and how that made her feel as a child, Bharti said, 'I was two when my father died. He had cholera, and he coughed up blood after drinking. I have no memory of him. Even today, there's a picture of him at home, but I don't recognise him. He's a stranger. I tell them to pull the picture down. They wouldn't make fun of me, but they would feel pity for me. The teacher would segregate us on the basis of who had a father and who didn't, because the kids who didn't have dads would be given schoolbooks. I didn't know what a father was, I would hear my friends talk about their dads. I learned that fathers are strict and they bring gifts; I didn't know. I would feel like I was different.'
Bharti is now one of the highest-paid individuals on Indian television. She has long been associated with Kapil Sharma, and now runs a massively popular YouTube channel with over 7 million subscribers.

Shah Rukh Khan had a proud father moment when Aryan Khan got up on stage and delivered his debut speech at the preview launch of his first show, The Ba**ds of Bollywood. At the event, Shah Rukh also opened up about his reaction when Aryan first came to him with the idea of the show. Speaking at the event, Shah Rukh took over the stage and instantly captivated the audience with his trademark charm and cheeky speech. After making the audience laugh, Shah Rukh revealed his first thoughts when Aryan approached him with the concept of the show. He said, 'When Aryan told me that I am doing a show on Bollywood, which is going to be raw, edgy and it will have some madness, then I thought if he is putting up Mannat's CCTV footage on YouTube.' Anurag Kashyap blasts Chiranjeevi Hanuman producer over AI film, 'You should be in gutter'

In a bold critique that has stirred the Indian film industry, acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has openly condemned the upcoming AI-generated film Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal. Scheduled for release on Hanuman Jayanti 2026, this project is being promoted as entirely 'Made-in-AI' and 'Made in India.' Kashyap's sharp rebuke is directed at producer Vijay Subramaniam, who also leads the Collective Artists Network, an agency representing creative professionals. What did Anurag Kashyap say? Kashyap expressed his disapproval on social media, highlighting the contradiction of Subramaniam producing an AI-driven film while heading an artists' agency. He accused Subramaniam of prioritizing profit over the interests of human creators, stating, 'Any actor or anyone who calls themselves artists and has a spine will be and should be either questioning him or leaving the agency.' Kashyap further criticized the move as emblematic of a trend where agencies are more interested in monetizing AI than supporting genuine artistic talent. He concluded while saying, 'Well done Vijay Subramaniam. Shame is not enough, you should be in the gutter for this'. Vikramaditya Motwane on the use of AI The controversy has sparked broader debate within the industry about role of AI in filmmaking. Director and close aide of Anurag, Vikramaditya Motwane, also voiced concern, sharing film's announcement with the caption, 'And so it begins… Who TF needs writers and directors when it's 'Made in AI'?' This sentiment reflects growing unease about AI potentially displacing human creativity in cinema. Dhanush on the AI-generated ending of Raanjhanaa This incident is part of a larger conversation about AI's impact on the film industry. Previously, the re-release of Raanjhanaa as Ambikapathy in Tamil with an AI-generated alternate ending without the original director's consent raised ethical questions about artistic integrity. Filmmakers like Zoya Akhtar and Om Raut have expressed concerns about altering creative works without the creators' approval, emphasizing the importance of preserving the original vision. Story Highlights Anurag Kashyap criticizes the AI-generated film Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal, calling out producer Vijay Subramaniam for undermining human creators. The controversy has ignited a debate about AI's role in filmmaking and its potential to displace human creativity. Other industry figures, including Vikramaditya Motwane, have expressed concern over the increasing reliance on AI in creative processes. The controversy ties into broader concerns about AI in cinema, as seen with Dhanush's Ambikapathy's AI-altered re-release.

'The three-year deal will launch six restaurants by 2027. The partnership will bring Ramsay's signature concepts to India. The initiative aims to transform terminal dining into an exhilarating, top-tier gastronomic adventure," an official statement from Ramsay's team. Which City Is Next For Gordon Ramsay's Food Brand?
