HRH Prince Salman hails Team Bahrain for providing best services to Bahraini pilgrims

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, commended Team Bahrain's unified efforts in providing the best services for the Bahraini pilgrims, and congratulated the pilgrims on their safe return.
HRH Prince Salman was speaking as he met yesterday with His Excellency Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al Qattan, Undersecretary of the Court of Cassation and Chairman of the Bahrain Pilgrimage Mission, along with members of the High Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness emphasised that the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa facilitate the pilgrims' affairs, ensuring that their pilgrimage is conducted safely and peacefully.

In this regard, he commended HM the King's commitment to supporting Bahraini pilgrims.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's dedication, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in serving Hajj pilgrims and ensuring their pilgrimage is conducted safely and peacefully.
His Royal Highness highlighted that overseeing the Hajj pilgrimage is a great honour undertaken by Saudi Arabia, noting the country's remarkable capabilities in successfully hosting the annual pilgrimage.
He also commended the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, the Bahrain Pilgrimage Mission, and other related government entities, for their efforts that have contributed to successfully assisting the pilgrimage.
Shaikh Adnan expressed his gratitude for HM the King's commitment to enhancing the pilgrims' experience, ensuring their pilgrimage is completed safely and peacefully, as well as His Majesty's support to the Bahrain Pilgrimage Mission.
The Undersecretary also expressed his gratitude for His Royal Highness's unwavering support for Bahraini pilgrims and ensuring the facilitation of their pilgrimage.

The flight was part of the annual Hajj operations, which saw over one lakh Indian pilgrims travel to Mecca this year. Hajj rituals were held in Saudi Arabia between June 4 and June 9. The first batch of Indian pilgrims had departed as early as May, with flights from cities like Lucknow and Hyderabad. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju recently confirmed that 1,22,518 pilgrims from India had participated in the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage. In an unrelated incident on the same day, a Lufthansa flight en route to Hyderabad from Frankfurt was forced to turn back after a bomb threat was received by authorities. Sources said an email threatening the Hyderabad-bound flight was received by airport officials at 6:01 PM IST on June 15. As a precaution, the aircraft returned to its departure point in Frankfurt. A Lufthansa spokesperson stated, 'Out of an abundance of caution, Lufthansa flight LH752 from Frankfurt to Hyderabad returned to its point of departure after authorities were made aware of a bomb threat posted on social media.' The airline confirmed that all passengers were provided accommodation in Frankfurt. 'The safety of our passengers and crew is Lufthansa's highest priority,' the spokesperson added. The affected passengers were scheduled to resume their journey to Hyderabad the next day. A bomb threat assessment committee has been activated to investigate the matter in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Shura panel reviews proposal to set cap on work permits

The Services Committee, headed by Dr Jameela Mohammed Redha Al Salman, held talks with representatives from the Labour Ministry and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), including its chief Nibras Mohammed Talib. At the centre of the draft law is a shift from allowing discretion to requiring the Labour Ministry to state the highest number of permits the authority can issue within a certain period.
