Joe Rogan admits to paying his teen daughter $1,000 per minute to attempt extreme challenge

Daily Mail25-06-2025
Joe Rogan has revealed that he once paid his daughter and her friends $1,000 per minute if they could endure an extreme challenge – much to the shock of the pals' parents.
The 57-year-old podcaster shares two teenage daughters – Lola, 17, and Rosy, 15 – and adopted daughter, Kayja Rose, with his wife, former model Jessica Rogan.
Giving listeners a glimpse into his life as a father, Rogan recalled how he once tasked one of his daughters and her pals with seeing how long they could last in his cold plunge pool.
'I paid my daughter and her friends $1,000 for every minute they can go in there for,' he recounted.
'Eleven-year-olds freezing their a** off trying to get a thousand bucks.
'I peeled off 10 crisp hundreds and they were laughing, giggling and the parents were like "what are you doing?!"
'It's fine! It's fun, everybody had a good time, I did it for fun.'
According to SportBible, Rogan said in another episode: 'I gave three kids a thousand bucks and the parents were like, "what the f***!"
'But they earned it, I just wanted to show them that they could do it.
'These kids were so pumped, for them that's a hard thing to do and I'm showing them that they can do this very difficult thing.'
Ice baths have also surged in popularity in recent years, amid claims they can boost circulation and improve heart health.
Plunging into cold water triggers the body's cold shock response, where a sudden drop in temperature leads to a surge in adrenaline, noradrenaline and other hormones that boost feelings of alertness.
This process is believed to be behind the alleged health benefits.
Of course, $1,000 per minute is just chump change for Rogan, whose net worth is estimated to be around the $200 million mark.
In March, Rogan declared he would never discuss his 'weird' theories about the universe with his wife and children.
He married his wife Jessica in 2009 and adopted her daughter from a previous relationship.
During an episode about human existence with comedian Andrew Schultz, Rogan asked his guest: 'How do you feel about this world that we're living in, this world that seems more and more like it's not real? More and more like it's a f***ing simulation?'
Rogan went on to explain he is 'kind of convinced' humans are living in a computer-generated environment like in the Matrix.
'There's something more to reality than what meets the eye, there's more to it than what you can put on a scale or what you can put a ruler to. There's more to this thing,' he said.
'This thing's made out of like, some very bizarre energy that's attached to consciousness, that's what I think.'
Bewildered, Schultz asked the podcaster what he was talking about.
'It's inevitable that one day they will achieve a simulation that is indiscernible from reality. No doubt about it,' Rogan explained. 'They've gotten real close.'
He then went on to pose a series of rhetorical questions to his stunned guest.
'Is that the ultimate progression of technology? Is the ultimate progression of technology transcending physical reality and becoming completely digital life?
'So if that is possible, how do we know that it hasn't already happened? How can we know if it hasn't already happened?'
Eventually, Schultz asked Rogan whether he ever brings this theory up to his wife and kids - to which the comedian responded: 'No, that's too weird to talk to kids about.'

Anti-Trump MeidasTouch dethrones mighty Joe Rogan as top podcast in US on YouTube

Joe Rogan has been dethroned as America's number one podcaster on YouTube by a staunchly anti-MAGA, 'pro-democracy' show. After months of sharply criticizing President Donald Trump 's actions, decisions and rhetoric, the left-leaning MeidasTouch Podcast overtook the Joe Rogan Experience for the first time last week, according to YouTube's weekly ranking of top podcast shows. While Rogan's 20.1 million YouTube followers dwarf MeidasTouch's 5.2 million, the podcasting giant's show finished in second place. Progressive YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen and conservative-leaning Sean Ryan's shows also made the top ten. The MeidasTouch Podcast saw its rankings climb in July as Trump attempted to appease Congress, the media, and voters over his administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, with episodes zeroing in on the president's past ties to and comments about the disgraced financier. According to a May New York Times report, with the rise of video podcasting, YouTube is now the most popular platform for listeners with a one-third market share. 'We're thrilled to see our audience continue to grow,' MeidasTouch Network co-founder Ben Meislas said in a statement Wednesday. 'It's not just about the numbers. It's about building a movement powered by truth, accountability, and the people.' On Spotify, however, Rogan remains king, taking the number one spot, while MeidasTouch secured the 73rd spot on the audio streaming company's U.S. podcast charts. A similar trend appeared on Apple Podcasts' U.S. charts, where the Joe Rogan Experience ranks second, bested only by ABC News' Cold Blooded: Mystery in Alaska, and the MeidasTouch Podcast comes in 17th. According to data analyzed by Newsweek using podcast analytics platform Podscribe, the MeidasTouch Podcast was the most downloaded podcast overall between June 7 and July 7. The data showed MeidasTouch amassed 124 million views in that period, with Rogan scooping the second spot with 39.2 million views. The three brothers who produce the show, Ben, Brett, and Jordy Meiselas, say they have seen ratings soar since Trump returned to the White House in January. The siblings formed the self-styled 'pro-democracy' MeidasTouch Network in March 2020 as a super PAC with the sole purpose of preventing Trump from being reelected in that year's presidential contest. While the PAC changed its name to Democracy Defense Action, the MeidasTouch Network name continues to be used as a news organization. By February this year, the MeidasTouch Podcast was ranked the most downloaded podcast, according to Podscribe data. 'We're proving that pro-democracy voices are not just necessary but in demand,' Brett Meislas told Newsweek at the time. 'The American people are rejecting the idea that MAGA is mainstream.' These latest numbers mark a shift from the dominance of Rogan and other conservative-leaning hosts like Adin Ross, Lex Fridman, and Ben Shapiro, many of whom hosted Trump as he courted the so-called ' bro vote ' ahead of the 2024 election. Many of those figures appear to be breaking away from Trump, including Rogan, who said Trump's lack of transparency over the Epstein case is 'a line in the sand.'

Glass Heart – J-drama Episode 2 Recap & Review

Tenblank's First Single Episode 2 of Glass Heart begins with Tenblank's first song, Matrix. The crowd begins to cheer but Akane seems stuck in her head. Naoki tells her to just let go and during their second song, Crystalline Echo, she's much better. She even gets a nod of approval from Kazushi. The song gets even louder cheers but somewhere in the audience is a man named Ichidai Isagi, who tells his associate that he will let Naoki spread his wings before bringing him back to him. Later on, Naoki shocks the other band members by telling them they will be recording a single in three days. While out on a walk, Akane marvels at a poster of a singer named Sakurai Yukino. This is the same woman who was with Isagi, who happens to be her manager. While recording the single, Naoki isn't satisfied with Akane's drum playing. He tells her that he wants to see the Akane he knows. Kazushi speaks to Akane aside and tells her not to take Naoki too seriously. He says he doesn't know why Naoki recruited him when he can make all the music himself but he wanted to prove his talent to Naoki. He now tells Akane to do the same. Yukino and Isagi make a surprise appearance at the recording studio. They tell Naoki they want him to record a song with Yukino for her new album. Kai seems hell bent against this but Naoki says he can look out for himself. Akane, meanwhile, is still unable to satisfy Naoki. She comes to the studio one morning to find that he has been working all night. The others try to convince him that the song doesn't need fixing but he's insistent on finding the 'right' version. Akane speaks to Naoki and rightly guesses that he has an issue with Isagi. He admits that he's the one who turned Isagi into the awful person he is today. Naoki then assures her that he won't let her down. At home, Akane continues to practice harder than ever. She turns up at the recording studio one day to see Toya playing the piano. He challenges her to play the drums and she does, until he abruptly stops. He tells her she sounds like Naoki now instead of herself. Once again, he warns her that she will either destroy Naoki's sound or he will destroy her. After another jam session where Toya dismisses Akane's skills, he tells her to buy him food. Over noodles, Toya tells Akane that Naoki quit music a few years ago because someone stole his song. The thief later lost his talent and reputation. Toya then spots Naoki outside the noodle shop. While the three are walking, Toya asks Naoki about selling himself out to Isagi. He then taunts Naoki and tells him to keep writing masterpieces until he ends up a dead genius, like John Lennon. Akane looks worried at this and rushes away. Naoki goes after her and gives her a flash drive with the base recorded on it. Akane then asks him if she has what it takes to play his music. He replies with another question — if he died the next day, would she keep playing the drums? She's quiet for a bit but then runs across the road, telling Naoki that she would continue. Nevertheless, she doesn't want him to die like John Lennon. The next day, Naoki approves of Akane's recording in the studio. The new single is soon ready! The Episode Review Glass Heart Episode 2 gives us a bit more insight into the characters, which is much needed after the rollercoaster of a pilot. Things definitely slow down and we get multiple insightful conversations that Akane has with Kazushi, Toya and Naoki. There's a lot of talk about talent and dreams and being yourself, but it all fits in with the romantic vibe of the J-drama in general. Naoki's dialogues are also just as mystical as the rest of his character. Naoki's dramatics continue as well and considering the scene where Sho has to pull him off the keyboard, you do need to suspend belief to fully buy into his genius persona. But we also get some added mystery around Isagi and his conflict with Naoki, as well as some solid new music. The change in the way Akane plays in the first scene of the episode will probably make more sense to people more attuned to music and minor changes in sound. But despite that, the story continues to be full of heart and highly engaging! Previous Episode Next Episode Expect A Full Season Write-Up When This Season Concludes!

Joe Rogan deepens rift with Trump by praising 'hilarious' South Park episode that mocked naked president

Joe Rogan added more fuel to the fire between him and Donald Trump after calling the South Park episode that mocked the president 'f***ing hilarious.' During The Joe Rogan Experience on Friday, the podcaster sat down with former CIA officer Mike Baker and talked about the current 'chaos' of American politics. Specifically, Rogan, who endorsed Trump, hit out on the controversial animated episode which featured Trump in bed with Satan, and a deepfake of the commander-in-chief wandering nude in the desert. 'There's so much chaos. It's so f***ed up. There's just so much madness. Oh my god. Did you see the episode?,' Rogan asked Baker. 'They did a Donald Trump one with Satan. It's f***ng hilarious.' Baker told Rogan he did not watch it, but hailed the comedy as a 'great show.' Rogan's recent comment comes after his continued criticism of Trump and his administration, especially when it comes to the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The episode touched on the ongoing controversy taking over the country and the MAGA world, as it addressed the alleged Epstein client list. The Department of Justice said it concluded the pedophile did not possess a 'client list' and decided against releasing any additional records from the probe. Meanwhile, Trump was informed months ago by Attorney General Pam Bondi that his name appears 'multiple times' in the Epstein investigation files, among other high-profile people, the Wall Street Journal reported. In last week's South Park episode, which was the season 27 premiere of the hit show, a naked Trump was seen laying in bed next to Satan before the two discussed the reported list. 'Another random b**** commented on my Instagram that you're on the Epstein list,' Satan said. 'The Epstein list?' Trump asks. 'Are we still talking about that?' Attempting to get answers, Satan probes: 'Well, are you on the list or not? It's weird that whenever it comes up, you just tell everyone to relax.' 'I'm not telling everyone to relax,' Trump replies, before quipping: 'Relax, guy!' During that same episode of his famed podcast, Rogan singled out FBI Director Kash Patel during his explosive take on the fallout over the alleged cover up relating to Epstein. 'When Kash Patel was on here and he was like "there was nothing", my thought was I'm going to put this out there and let the internet do its work,' Rogan said. 'The guy's saying there are no tapes, no video. That doesn't make any sense, everybody knows that doesn't make any sense.' Rogan added: 'Then he's like, "Well, we have a film, we're gonna release that film", and the film has a f****** minute missing from it.' The footage he had been referring to is surveillance clips of Epstein's New York City cell where he hung himself in 2019. The clip was released earlier this month. 'Do you think we're babies? Like, what is this?', the comedian and UFC color commentator added. Bondi also allegedly acknowledged that the administration should withhold the files due to them containing images of child sexual abuse. The president associated with Epstein and British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell in the 1980s and 1990s. Rogan has not just been critical of Trump's handling of the Epstein documents, but also his immigration raids across the county. Earlier this month, he pleaded with the president to 'back off' on deporting migrants from the US during a secret dinner, sources revealed. The media personality, who attended Trump's inauguration in January, dined with Trump and UFC CEO Dana White on June 30 - just three days before Rogan bashed the ICE raids, a person with knowledge of their conversations told The Washington Post. He called the ICE raids 'insane' and 'horrific' in a July 3 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, and agreed with Amjad Masad, the CEO of Replit, that the actions of Trump's administration were 'disappointing.' 'There's two things that are insane,' the host said. 'One is the targeting of migrant workers. Not cartel members, not gang members, not drug dealers. 'Just construction workers. Showing up in construction sites, raiding them. Gardeners. Like, really?' Rogan went on to mention the viral moment Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish student who was detained by ICE agents at Tufts University in March who co-authored a critical essay on Israel. 'And that's enough to get you kicked out of the country,' he added, referring to Ozturk. Not only has Rogan spoken out against Trump, but he recently urged a liberal lawmaker to run for president. He fawned over Democratic Texas state Rep. James Talarico on his show about two weeks ago, telling the 36-year-old to begin a new generation of leadership. Talarico is a former teacher who joined the Texas state legislature in 2018 at just 28. He often receives millions of views on Instagram clips where he shares his speeches and previously argued there are 'six genders.' He is known as a devoutly religious lawmaker who rails against the rise of 'Christian Nationalism' on the right, a topic that earned Rogan's seal of approval this week. After being told by Rogan to seek the White House, Talarico brushed off the remark. 'Can I actually push back on that?' he responded. 'We were talking about how politics has become a religion. This is one of the ways it does. People put all their faith in a politician.' Talarico name checked Trump and former Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders as examples, saying that while he 'likes Bernie... some people treat him as if he's a messianic figure.'
