Ludhiana: Residents continued to enjoy the pleasant weather as the day temperature remained below normal in Ludhiana on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Met department has predicted a weather disturbance in the district in the next few days.
According to the Met officials, 1.2mm rainfall was recorded between 8:30am on Wednesday and 8:30am Thursday, but no rain was witnessed in the city between 8:30am and 5:30pm on Thursday. As it was cloudy and a breeze blew in the city, its impact was reflected in the maximum (day) temperature, which was recorded at 30.8 degrees Celsius. This is 3.1 degrees less than normal and 1.4 degrees less than the day before. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.9 degrees Celsius on Thursday, which is around normal and the same as the day before.
Meanwhile, as per the Met department website, the weather forecast for Friday is "partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder showers". For Saturday and Sunday, it is "partly cloudy sky". It suggests that the day temperature is expected to rise to 32 degrees on Friday, then rise to 35 degrees by Sunday, whereas the minimum (night) temperature is expected to rise to 28 degrees by Sunday.
Meanwhile, people are enjoying the prevailing weather, especially during the day. Gurjinder Singh, a city resident, said, "I saw such nice weather after along time in Ludhiana during the monsoon season as the days are not hot and very humid. Instead, day temperatures are low and a gentle breeze blows in the city." He added that he was not sweating much even after walking a long distance, which indicates the weather was not hot and sultry.
Rekha, a homemaker, said she along with her children go for evening walks as the weather had turned pleasant around that time.
