Celtic 'target' Kieran Tierney back up as forgotten man makes World Cup vow
It's the latest headlines from Parkhead all in one place as Brendan Rodgers gets set for a busy summeer
Brendan Rodgers has reportedly started planning for life after Greg Taylor.
The Celtic defender - who is heading out of contract - has yet to commit to a new deal with his future looking increasingly likely to be away from the Scottish champions with no communication either way on his next step.
His club boss made a number of public pleas and made his feelings clear on wanting him tied down to fresh terms - even with the incoming arrival of Kieran Tierney.
Jeffrey Schlupp's loan deal is over and his future is not yet known after his exit from Crystal Palace but The Sun claim the Hoops have target a new left-back from the EFL.
They state Peterborough full-back Harley Mills is wanted north of the border as a back-up for the returning KT.
Fulham are claimed to have made a £1million approach to the Posh and now Celtic have entered the chase with Mills reportedly one of the potential names on his list of targets.
Meanwhile, forgotten man Marco Tillio is determined to get on the pitch for Australia in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
He's fresh off winning silverware with Melbourne City and is determined to show his worth to the Socceroos in the upcoming double-header with Japan and Saudi Arabia.
He admits his future at club level is 'up in the air' at the moment - but full focus is on the internationals.
He said: "I feel in a really good place. My future is obviously up in the air at the moment, so I'm unsure what is going to happen.
"It's always been about just playing well. I know when I'm playing well that people are always watching.
'I want to do everything I can to help Australia qualify for another World Cup.
"I took everything in from last camp and put myself in the position now where I feel I'm better for it. I just want to execute everything that I know that I can, and put myself in the position to hopefully be in the squad and play.
"It's been 18 months since I've actually stepped on the pitch for the national team.
'So I think it's at that time now that I put myself in a position to play well, get an opportunity to do well, and hopefully, sort of cement a spot in there.'
Elsewhere, Kasper Schmeichel has been tipped to once again show his worth at Celtic next season.
The veteran keeper dropped a clanger in the Scottish Cup Final defeat to Aberdeen at Hampden in a rare blot on a solid debut season.
The Denmark legend has suffered harsh criticism in his homeland for his from on the national team stage.
But Marc Rieper reckons while his best games of his career are likely past him, he is still far from finished.
He said: 'The best games of his career are probably behind him now. But he's still a top class keeper and he'll be great for Celtic next season as well.
'Kasper has had an unbelievable career, from obviously being in the shadow of his dad to then just making a name for himself.
'He's not played in as big clubs as Peter has. But the way he's performed for the clubs he has and winning the league with Leicester, which is probably one of the biggest achievements in British football history, I think he's had an amazing career.
'You can only just take your hat off for him and be proud of what he's achieved, both in the clubs he's played for and with the Danish national team. He's been tremendous.
'We've got some young talent coming through in Denmark who's eventually going to take over Kasper's spot.
'Is that going to be now or is that going to be in a year's time? I don't know, I think they're all good keepers.
'We've got Filip Jørgensen at Chelsea who's just won the Conference League and who's performed really well.
'We've got a few keepers in Germany who are playing regularly too. But I'm sure there's a few caps left for Kasper.'

Injury blow for Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic ahead of Club World Cup
Kovacic missed the FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace through injury earlier this month. He returned to face Bournemouth in the Premier League but was sent off and sat out the final game of the season at Fulham. City have now confirmed the 31-year-old has required an operation. No timescale has been put on his recovery but the focus is now on next season. A club statement read: 'The Croatian midfielder is now set to miss the FIFA Club World Cup as City head to the USA in June. 'Mateo will spend the summer rehabilitating from the operation and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.' The 32-team tournament concludes on July 13.

Duncan Shearer: Number 9 like Bojan Miovski - but not Miovski - top of the transfer wish-list for Aberdeen this summer
A striker must be top of the list of priorities for Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin this summer. The Dons confirmed their list of departures last week – and none of the names came as a surprise. Kevin Nisbet and Oday Dabbagh were the two strikers on the list of players leaving Pittodrie, and as well as Nisbet did for the club, I'll be surprised if we see him back. Millwall boss Alex Neil will, quite rightly, want to have a look at the Scotland international for himself, and it's no secret Nisbet will be on a very good wage in the English Championship. A package to bring the player back to Pittodrie would eat up a significant portion of the club's summer transfer kitty. Sadly, the same would be said for any Aberdeen fans dreaming of Bojan Miovski making a shock return to Pittodrie this summer… Reports from Spain claim Girona are looking to move the North Macedonia international on, but as much as I'd love to see Miovski leading the lead for Aberdeen again, I think the chances are slim. If Girona are willing to send him on loan then maybe, but even then it seems unlikely for me – and I just don't see the Dons paying the substantial fee it would take to bring him back permanently. It's a Miovski-type figure they should be looking for, though. We knew nothing of him when he arrived in Scottish football from MTK Budapest, but it became apparent very quickly he was a class act. Aberdeen's scouting network has expanded significantly in the Dave Cormack era and the net is cast much wider these days. If the Dons can pull another Mivoski out of the hat then their team will carry a serious attacking threat next season. There will be other positions in need of strengthening, such as the left-back position now that Jack MacKenzie has signed for Plymouth Argyle. But keeping the Aberdeen squad together is just as important as the recruitment. Shayden Morris' breakthrough season for the club saw him named player of the year at Pittodrie. Five goals and 13 assists are a fine return for a wide player, but with Morris now moving into the final year of his contract, extending his stay is crucial. If he maintains the progress he has made then I can see a big move happening for him in the future. His pace alone is such an asset. But the club needs to protect its investment in the former Fleetwood Town winger. Leighton Clarkson's strong end to the season will also have attracted interest – and you don't come through the Liverpool academy unless you have something about you. Mats Knoester has also been outstanding since he joined the club in the winter window. The Dutchman was a big reason for the club's recovery from a mid-season slump and was terrific alongside Jack Milne and Alfie Dorrington in the Scottish Cup final win against Celtic. I should probably add the manager to that list, too. When you beat one of the big boys – and they don't come bigger in Scottish football than Celtic right now – people tend to take notice. When you beat them for silverware, you're effectively putting a target on your back. Jimmy Thelin has done just that by guiding Aberdeen to cup glory. Clubs in England think nothing of taking a punt on a manager who has enjoyed a modicum of success, and Thelin's name will be on the file of potential new managers for clubs in the months ahead. He strikes me as a guy who is committed to the project he has taken on at Aberdeen, but we won't know for sure until a club tries to tempt him and test his club's resolve. I'm pleased to hear Don Cowie will be staying on to lead Ross County's bid to win promotion back to the Premiership. But I'm saddened to see Carl Tremarco and Paul Cowie leave the club. It's never pleasant to see people lose their jobs, and I'm sure both Carl and Paul will be back in the game somewhere soon enough. It's clear chairman Roy MacGregor felt he had to make some changes following the club's relegation from the top-flight. There's a big rebuilding job needed at the Staggies this summer, but it became apparent pretty quickly that Roy was backing Don. Had he wanted to make a change it would have happened already – and before decisions were made on players leaving the club in the last few ways. The addition of John Robertson to the backroom staff as assistant manager will help. Robbo has the experience and the contacts in the game to help Don and he will be the perfect foil for the manager in the new-look coaching team. He'll need to delve into that contact list to help Don reshape his squad for the new campaign in the Championship.. Seven loan players – Jonathan Tomkinson, Jack Grieves, Zac Ashworth, Kacper Lopata, Eli Campbell, Will Nightingale and Nohan Kenneh – have returned to their clubs, while Scott Allardice, James Brown and Ryan Leak have left. That's 10 guys already out the door if you are keeping count, and I know from speaking to the chairman in the past how frustrating he finds having to start over with building a squad every summer. It's the nature of the beast for County due to the club's location and it has been a major challenge for every manager who has been there. Robbo can only help Don on that front. I look at the division and I'm convinced it is getting tougher every season – it's certainly a more competitive Championship than it has been for years. In St Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Ayr United, Raith Rovers and Dunfermline, that's five teams who will be expecting to be in the hunt for the title alongside the Staggies before a ball has been kicked.

Jim Goodwin eyes fresh Liverpool transfer raid as Dundee United boss tells Luca Stephenson he'd love him back
The versatile midfielder had a successful loan at Tannadice but he's not the only top talent at the Reds who has caught the eye Jim Goodwin wants to bring Luca Stephenson back to Dundee United and also tap further into the Liverpool development ranks. The versatile midfielder had a successful loan at Tannadice and helped the Terrors to clinch a Europa Conference League spot. United are to open talks about trying to sign Stephenson on a permanent basis but Goodwin has admitted some other Reds have also caught his eye. Goodwin said: 'I'd love to bring Luca back, but he's under contract at Liverpool, so we'll just need to wait and see what happens with that. 'I speak to their loans manager, Matt Newberry, who I've got a good relationship with. "(Leighton) Clarkson went to Aberdeen, obviously, a couple of years ago. "He was really good to deal with again with regards to bringing Luca up. 'They've got a fantastic academy down there, as you'd imagine, so we'll try and tap into that again in the summer. 'I've already identified a couple of really good ones, but it's just whether we can get them to Scotland or not. 'It's a relationship that we'll continue to try and work on. They're a great club to deal with.' Goodwin has already made his personal pitch to Stephenson. He said: 'I had a really good conversation in depth with Luca prior to him leaving. 'He was outstanding for us and deservedly won our Young Player of the Year award. 'We missed him towards the end of the season when he was unavailable. 'We missed his energy in the middle of the pitch, his ability to break things up and his desire to get forward. 'I thought it was glaringly obvious that we missed his presence in the middle of the park in some of the games.' Goodwin knows Stephenson's loan will aid their cause at Liverpool. The United boss added: 'Luca's going back down the road speaking positively about his time at Dundee United. 'I think that's the most important thing when these loans come up. 'When they go back down to England, they're talking about the Scottish game and about how they got treated at Dundee United in a positive manner. 'That can only stand us in good stead for the summer, when we have to go and try and do something similar.'
