Sydney is one of the most in-demand women in Hollywood, after TV show Euphoria — for which she is currently filming a third series — put her name in lights six years ago.
Now, she is also taking the leading role in a new biographical film about US female boxer Christy Martin.
Director David Michod said: 'Sydney trained her butt off to play the part.
"The beauty of Sydney is she turned up every day with her tail wagging, ready to go.
'No matter how tough it was, she was like a ray of sunshine.'
Meanwhile Sydney has just cleaned up by turning her used bathwater into limited edition bars of soap.

Fashion influencer gets slammed as she goes braless in 'hideous' designer dress
Elle Ferguson has been slammed for attending a fashion show in a very revealing designer dress. The influencer, who famously quit The Block in 2022, posted a video to Instagram on Saturday while wearing the lilac Loewe dress. The frock, which is part of the luxury fashion house's Fall 2025 collection, featured a plunging neckline and peplum layered design around the waist. 'All I can say is THE LILAC @loewe dress is even better in real life. Such a dream to experience @ last collection in real life and get to play dress ups with the collection. Big thanks to the incredible #loewe team and @mcm_pr,' she wrote. Elle's fans flocked to the comments to slam her 'hideous' look, with many insisting the dress doesn't compliment her figure. 'Different isn't always flattering. And I'm talking about the dress not you. This dress wouldn't be flattering in anyone as it is,' one person wrote. 'That dress is hideous!' another agreed while a third added: 'God that's an ugly dress.' 'Looks so uncomfortable to wear,' one commented while another wrote: 'I don't like that dress at all, sorry.' However some complimented her look with one writing: 'You are the full model vibe. Give this girl a catwalk.' 'Actual Supermodel,' another added. Elle's post comes after she recently called out a series of shocking episodes from her past that she had to endure while building a successful career as a businesswoman. The Block star and influencer took to her Instagram stories in May to a share a throwback moment that many women can relate to. Captioning the story 'awkward question', Elle related the cringe worthy experience in the post. 'I remember so vividly sitting in a job interview (conducted by a woman) and being asked is the reason why I've come so far in my job because of the "way I looked"?' Her fans flocked to the comments to slam Elle's 'hideous' look, with many insisting the dress doesn't compliment her figure She also posted a single black tile with the caption, 'can I ask you a question?' 'I'm sitting here looking at an attractive looking 'How important does that play in getting yourself to stand out amongst the crowd?' She posted another tile that asked, 'Do you think a man would be asked this question?' and including a 'Yes/No' dialogue box. Elle then finished her story by posting a final tile that claimed, 'This was one of the questions I was asked in 2019 by Mark Bouris.' The entrepreneur was referring to her guest spot on Bouris' The Mentor podcast when she was interviewed by the Wizard Home Loans founder. During the interview, Bouris can be heard telling the former Block cast member, 'Going through life, being an attractive woman in the fashion industry, how do you reconcile that as an advantage and I think it's an advantage and how did you work it.' Bouris continued: 'I mean there's nothing wrong with using your assets and I'm not saying you are just that, because I know people will be how do we deal with it?' Elle replied that she has had to work 'harder' for her success in order to break through the 'Legally Blonde dumb blonde' stereotype.

Nine news boss under fire after saying she is getting 'drunk' at the Logies before firing off wild 'inappropriate' X-rated message about Jimmy Barnes
A Channel Nine boss has come under fire for her 'inappropriate' social media posts at the Logie Awards last weekend. A Current Affair's executive producer Amy McCarthy left many scratching their heads after posting several questionable comments to Facebook at the annual event. In one post, McCarthy told her followers she had just arrived at the Logie Awards and 'could get drunk now'. 'I can get drunk now. You thought you'd been spammed before!! Standby!' she said. McCarthy later added: 'Luckily my phone died before any evidence could be recorded.' She also uploaded an image of Jimmy Barnes performing at the awards ceremony along with a suggestive comment, writing: 'deserves a spot on the grid! #wouldstilldohim'. One Channel Nine insider told The Australian, McCarthy's comments have sparked outrage and are 'out of step with Nine's drawn-out cultural review'. 'Imagine if a male news boss had made comments like that about a female singer like Delta Goodrem — it's totally inappropriate,' they said. It comes just months after Channel Nine reportedly cracked down on staffers after dropping the axe on Today presenter Alex Cullen. Cullen, 44, lost his job at the station in January after accepting $50,000 from Block bidder Adrian 'Mr Lambo' Portelli. The network followed the shocking news with a reminder to all employees about their 'professional obligations'. Nine's director of news and current affairs, Fiona Dear, sent the message via email to all staff. In the note to staff, which was sighted by Daily Mail Australia, the network boss wanted to remind 'broadcast journalists and on-air talent' that their conduct was 'vital' to maintaining trust with the viewing public. 'Accordingly, we acknowledge that commercial arrangements, sponsorships and endorsements exist at most media companies, including Nine,' Dear said in the email. 'In line with our professional obligations, as well as Nine's legal and regulatory obligations, these arrangements are permitted in certain circumstances, provided the appropriate disclosure occurs and that they are conducted in accordance with Nine's policies and procedures.' Dear also wrote that all staffers were obliged to conduct themselves along professional and ethical guidelines as set out by the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice, and Nine's Social Media Guidelines and Gift Policy. 'All Nine Group employees are required to adhere to these policies and remain up to date with any developments,' she wrote. Dear also added: 'And of course, the MEAA Journalist Code of Ethics, which applies to journalist members of the MEAA, also serves as a useful reminder of the professional standards for which journalists strive.'

Popular Play School star dies in Sydney: 'She was a beautiful soul'
A beloved Play School star has died in Sydney at age 89. Auckland-born jazz musician Judy Bailey, who worked as a pianist on the iconic children's show, was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away in Willoughby on Friday. Bailey grew up in Whangārei and began formal piano and music theory training at the age of 10. By 16, she had earned a performance diploma from Trinity College London. She later recalled being inspired for life after hearing jazz legend George Shearing on the radio. In 1960, Bailey permanently moved to Sydney and quickly immersed herself in the city's vibrant jazz scene. She performed at the iconic El Rocco club and worked with Australian greats including John Sangster and Graeme Lyall. Her television credits included stints with Tommy Tycho's Orchestra on Channel Seven, John Bamford's Orchestra on Channel Nine and Jack Grimsley's Orchestra on Channel Ten. Bailey's recording career began in the early 1960s and spanned more than half a century, producing acclaimed albums such as You & the Night & the Music, My Favourite Things and The Spritely Ones. In 1973 she joined the founding faculty of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music's jazz studies program, a role she held for decades. That same year she began working on ABC Radio's Kindergarten program, introducing music and movement to young listeners. This passion later led to her role on Play School, where her world class piano skills became a cherished part of childhood for countless Australians. Bailey also directed the Sydney Youth Jazz Ensemble, toured Southeast Asia with her quartet for Musica Viva, and served as musical director for the Sydney Opera House's Bennelong jazz series. Her remarkable contribution to Australian music was recognised with a string of honours, including the Order of Australia Medal in 2004, the APRA Jazz Composition Award and an induction into the Australian Jazz Bell Hall of Fame in 2014. Remembered for her generosity towards young musicians, Bailey once said: 'When you've got something yourself that you've discovered, it's natural for you to want to help others.' Heartbroken fans took to social media to pay tribute to Bailey. 'One of Australia's greatest jazz ambassadors, pianists, composers and educators of all time. An inspiration to everyone who met her,' wrote Melbourne musician Grant Windsor. 'She was a beautiful soul and a generous, impeccable musician,' another added. Bailey will be remembered for her incredible legacy in both jazz and children's entertainment. She is survived by her children Chris and Lisette.
