Kaspersky survey shows 43% of travelers use AI to plan their trips

According to Kaspersky's survey nearly half (43%) of respondents in the UAE trust AI to plan trips, however 96% of those that do are satisfied with this experience with 83% planning to use it in the future. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of using the internet, transforming the way we search and verify information. As AI continues to evolve, its presence grows accordingly, making AI-powered tools almost ubiquitous. At the height of the tourist season, Kaspersky decided to find out how often people are using AI in travel planning, and what aspects of their trip tourists are ready to entrust to artificial intelligence. Who uses AI and why? The survey confirmed that AI has become a widespread tool among active Internet users, 88% of respondents in the UAE claimed to use AI at least once. It turned out that the most popular use of AI is for research, with 75% of respondents confirming it was the most common use of AI. Second and the third place went to AI for work (59%) and studying (51%). Entertainment (50%) and experimenting with the technology (42%) tied for fourth place. AI in travel planning, with 36% of votes, is not yet among the most popular uses of AI. Regardless of the relatively small percentage of users who applied AI in travel planning, almost all of them (99%) were satisfied with this experience. AI in travel planning. For travelers, AI retains its most popular function – research. 69% of respondents, who have used AI in travel planning, trusted AI to identify events and other activities for them whether that was finding suitable excursions, popular tourist routes and souvenir shops. 69% used AI to select an accommodation, 60% made a list of restaurants with its help and 63% even assigned AI to search for tickets. Interestingly, families with children more actively used various AI functions in preparing for travel then childless audience suggesting AI is helping users to save time. Compared to information research, AI-powered booking was less popular across all groups. According to the survey, 51% of respondents booked hotels via AI services, 46% booked tickets and only 54% booked restaurants with the help of AI. Notably, 57% of participants stated that they resorted to the help of AI in solving visa and migration questions, which raises some concerns. Recently the story about an Australian writer who couldn't fly to a conference in Chile because of the wrong visa advice from the ChatGPT suggests the risks of AI hallucinations outweigh the time saving benefits for the most critical applications. 'Some trends in AI usage we observed show that the role of AI in solving everyday issues is changing. The respondents all value their time and prefer the personalized outputs that AI provides. Already this technology is maturing and rapidly delivering on its promise of better research and generating creative ideas. By choosing the most suitable options it becomes an important decision aid, which of course provokes reflection about the credibility of data it provides. AI-powered services are becoming increasingly in-demand tools for solving a variety of tasks, including travel planning, however, we should still remember that the decision is ours to make'- comments Vladislav Tushkanov, Group Manager at Kaspersky AI Technology Research Center at Kaspersky. To ensure the safety of your travels Kaspersky recommends: Always double-check the information that AI provides. Do not make purchases or book on websites until you verify their authenticity independently. While planning a trip, do not forget about the mobile Internet abroad. Consider using an eSIM to always stay in touch with your family and friends. Always double-check Wi-Fi networks before connecting, use a VPN and avoid auto-joining unfamiliar hotspots. Protect your devices, do not leave them unattended in crowded places, set strong passwords and install a reliable security solution, which will help protect them from various cyber threats. *The study was conducted by Kaspersky's market research center in partnership with the Toluna research provider in the summer of 2025. 3 thousand respondents from 15 countries (Argentina, Chile, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, UK, United Arab Emirates) took part in the survey. Watch: Rare falcon sold for Dh350,000 at Abu Dhabi auction after fierce bidding

The first live falcon auction ahead of Abu Dhabi's International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2025) saw spirited bidding on Saturday night, with the star of the evening–a rare white American Garmousha Pure selling for Dh350,000. The bird, nicknamed 'the bride of the night' by the auction host, was the highlight of the evening. Bidding for the falcon stretched for more than half an hour before it was secured by Hassan Al Qubaisi from Qatar. 'The Garmousha is considered a bank for breeding – it produces the best falcons, and is very hard to find,' explained Mohammed Nabil, a member of an online auction group who attends in person on behalf of remote bidders. The prized bird, restless on its perch as bids climbed, drew admiration from attendees. Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels. 'This Garmousha is the sister of the Ultra White breed. Any contest this bird enters – it wins, especially beauty pageants. Always first place. This was a very unique opportunity to acquire it,' Nabil explained. He noted that its new owner, Al Qubaisi, is 'a prominent participant in competitions across the Gulf, therefore owning this bird is a bank for him. He told us to keep bidding till he wins it – no limit.' A night of fierce bidding The evening began with fiery exchanges over a Gyr Pure from Holland, sourced by Naseem Falcon Farm. The bid shot from Dh25,000 to Dh40,000 in less than three minutes once the falcon's face cover was lifted. 'Let's show the face of the falcon… wow, masha'Allah!' exclaimed the host as the crowd caught sight of its striking features, prompting a rapid jump in offers. The bird was eventually purchased for Dh40,000 by Emirati bidder Khaled Al Hammadi. In total, seven elite breeds went under the hammer on the opening night: 'Best of the Best' Saeed Al Hassani, director of ADIHEX, said only top-quality falcons made it to the auction. 'This is the first live auction for the 22nd edition of ADIHEX. Out of 1,000 birds that applied, we examined and selected the best of the best,' he told Khaleej Times. Across the eight weekend auctions running until the end of ADIHEX, between seven to ten falcons will be offered each evening. 'The four auctions before the exhibition are the elite – the top of the top. During the exhibition itself, we will have falcons for different categories: elite, medium, and audience-oriented. We want to involve the public to encourage them to buy falcons. Prices are usually acceptable, not like the elite ones we saw today,' Al Hassani said. Asked about price expectations, he said: 'We are always optimistic. We hope to break the record. The highest price before was one million, and we hope to break that this year.' A veteran falconer's bid Not everyone walked away with a falcon. Saif Al Meqbali, 48 years old, bid Dh25,000 for the Gyr Shaheen before losing out at Dh29,000. 'The Gyr Shaheen is excellent in speed, courage, and hunting. I wanted to participate with it in competitions,' he described. A falconer for 32 years, Al Meqbali recalled buying his very first falcon – a Gyr Garmousha – from the market at age 17. 'We like to take the bird from the nest and train it ourselves. The fun part is to raise it and succeed. That way you feel you've done a good job,' he said. 'It is not fun to acquire a trained falcon - we deliberately look for untamed birds to train from scratch. The process gives us pleasure.' He explained why the Gyr Shaheen remains one of his favourites. 'It has more endurance than the Shaheen. It can handle fatigue and hunger in the desert – like a camel. That's why I wanted it.'
