Guardians of the Ocean
Hands-on marine adventures that ignite a passion for conservation
With more than 1,100 species of fish, 250 species of coral, and some of the world's most pristine marine ecosystems, the Maldives is a living classroom for curious young minds. At Kuda Huraa, the Junior Marine Savers program (8-12 years) introduces aspiring marine biologists to coral propagation, turtle rehabilitation, and dolphin research, while Landaa Giraavaru's Trainee Marine Biologist program (13-18 years) offers teens the chance to work alongside resident experts, contributing to pioneering conservation projects such as coral reef restoration and manta ray identification. It's a chance to become stewards of the ocean, gain hands-on experience, and make a lasting impact – all while having the adventure of a lifetime.
Breathe, Plunge, Explore
Family dive experiences for all ages – from first bubbles to deep-sea thrills
With PADI Five-Star Dive Centres at both Kuda Huraa and Landaa Giraavaru, families can dive into the unknown together. Thanks to a special dispensation from PADI, children as young as eight can skip the pool and go straight into lagoon-based Bubblemaker sessions, while teens and adults can earn their PADI Open Water certification in just two days, thanks to pre-arrival eLearning. With coral reefs covering more than 2,300 square kilometres (890 square miles) of Maldivian waters, every dive is a shared exploration into vibrant coral gardens, dramatic thilas, and coral-filled caves – all just a short boat ride from shore.
Ride, Paddle, Play
Catch waves, conquer currents, and share unforgettable surf moments
For families chasing the perfect wave, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa offers direct access to six world-class surf breaks, just a short speedboat ride from the resort. From beginner-friendly lagoon lessons to advanced 10-step Ride Clinics, there's a wave for every level. For those seeking the ultimate thrill, the Seaplane Surfing Safari delivers a bucket-list experience – flying to remote, empty breaks across the Maldivian wilderness with expert guides. It's a chance to share the stoke, conquer new challenges, and create unforgettable family memories – riding the same waves that draw some of the world's top surfers each year for the Surfing Champions Trophy.
From Courts to Castaways
Land-based adventures, private yacht charters, and unforgettable family memories
For those who prefer their feet on solid ground, both resorts offer on-site tennis coaching for players of all ages, while Landaa Giraavaru adds a twist with its exclusive padel court – perfect for fast-paced, family-friendly rallies. And when the urge for adventure strikes, families can set sail on a private yacht, with itineraries that include dolphin spotting, sandbank picnics, and snorkelling encounters with turtles and reef sharks. It's the perfect way to explore the Maldives' hidden corners and bond over the thrill of the unknown.
Home Away from Home
Spacious, residential-style Estates designed for multi-generational memories
When it's time to rest and reconnect, families can retreat to expansive multi-bedroom villas such as the Four-Bedroom Landaa Estate or the Three-Bedroom Kuda Estate. These private sanctuaries offer direct beach access, sweeping ocean views, and private infinity pools – perfect for starlit swims, sunset barbecues, and family breakfasts overlooking the Indian Ocean. Thoughtfully designed for multi-generational living, they provide all the comforts of home – with the added benefit of butler service, bespoke amenities, and unparalleled privacy.
Discover More Together
An exclusive family offer with value-packed experiences – perfect for making the most of every moment
For families seeking the ultimate bonding experience, the Discover More Together offer invites guests to deepen their connection through immersive adventures, shared discoveries, and meaningful moments. At Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, families can enjoy daily breakfast at Café Landaa or Blu Beach Club, a choice of a 30-minute Jet Ski ride or a 15-minute tube ride, a 60-minute padel tennis lesson, a dolphin cruise or sunset fishing excursion, a private marine biologist briefing with coral frame propagation, and a 60-minute family wellness experience at AyurMa – all tailored for up to two adults and two children under 12. Jesse Mendes Joins 2025 Lineup for Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa

Brazilian surf star Jesse Mendes is the latest name to be announced for the 2025 Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy. A former Championship Tour contender and 2018 Triple Crown of Surfing winner, Mendes brings power, poise, and a penchant for alternative boards to the one-of-a-kind event hosted at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. 'It's such a dream to get the call-up!' says Mendes. 'I remember I was with Adriano de Souza when he got his invitation a couple of years ago. He turned to me with the biggest smile and accepted straight away, because he said he didn't want to give Four Seasons time to change their minds! When surfers who've been going to competitions their whole lives react like that, you know an event is special. Now it's my turn and I can't wait!' With six legendary surfers riding a range of boards, and competition times staggered according to age, the Surfing Champions Trophy is as unique as it is popular with the legends who get invited. Competitors square off on single fin, twin fin and (thruster) tri-fin surfboards in the first three rounds, before the grand final is run on the surfer's board of choice to crown a champion. While 31-year-old Mendes carved out a career on the back of his powerful turns and prowess in the tube, since stepping away from full-time competition he has focussed on the more stylish side of surfing, doing so riding Album surfboards, which will serve him well at the Surfing Champions Trophy. 'Now that the pressure of the tour is gone, I only ride twin fins,' he shares. 'They are very forgiving and can generate a lot of speed, so I'm very excited for that division! I've already been talking to Matt Parker about the Surfing Champions Trophy — he's shaped boards for Josh Kerr and Coco Ho here before. We've come up with a few ideas together. He knows what to do; I just need to surf!' While the surfing takes centre stage, the experience at Kuda Huraa runs far deeper, something Mendes is keen to savour. 'I've been to the Maldives before and loved it,' he says. 'But to come back again and surf perfect waves with only two other people out, in a different and fun format, is the best. As for Four Seasons, bring on the food! Nothing beats surfing all day long, then coming back to an amazing meal, with my wife, on a paradise island.' From the flawless right-handers of Sultans to the laid-back luxury of the garden island, the Surfing Champions Trophy is as much about the setting as it is the surfing. Guests staying at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa during the contest can catch all the action from the Resort's luxury surf vessels, stationed beside the competition lineup for front-row viewing. With Mendes and Craig Anderson now confirmed, the excitement is building for a surf showdown like no other. Three more international invitees, plus one Maldivian wildcard, will be announced in the coming weeks. Make Every Wave Count with The Surf's Up Package Whether catching the very first swell or chasing the perfect carve, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa invites guests to ride, relax, and repeat. The Surf's Up package pairs expert coaching from Tropicsurf pros with guided surf excursions to some of the Maldives' most iconic breaks, all from the comfort of the idyllic island base. After a morning on the waves, restore body and mind with daily yoga and a rejuvenating massage at The Island Spa. The package also includes daily breakfast, round-trip speedboat transfers, top-tier surf gear, and more.
