A misunderstanding while entering a cash lane led to a brawl involving a four-wheel-drive vehicle and a lorry at the Telok Panglima Garang Toll Plaza in Kuala Langat on Thursday (June 26).
The altercation occurred around 6.15pm and involved two local men, each driving one of the vehicles.
Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Akmalrizal Radzi explained in a statement on Friday (June 27) that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding when the driver of a Toyota Hilux allegedly cut in from the left before entering the toll booth's cash lane.
This action resulted in a collision with a lorry driven by another individual.
"After the collision, the Hilux driver attempted to discuss the matter with the lorry driver, but the latter refused to stop and continued driving," said Supt Akmalrizal, adding that this led to a conflict between the two parties involved.
"However, a thorough investigation revealed no serious criminal elements, and both parties agreed to resolve the issue amicably.
"The drivers have since provided statements at the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters," he said.
The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Division under Regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (Regulation 10 LN 166/59).
Police have advised the public not to speculate about the incident.

Three suspects nabbed over uni student's murder

KUALA LUMPUR: A man and two women were detained in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old female private university student in the Klang Valley. Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman (pic) said the suspects, aged 19 and 20 years old, were nabbed in Johor Baru, Johor and Gemencheh, Negri Sembilan on Thursday (June 26) and early Friday (June 27) morning. "They were nabbed within 48 hours of the police report lodged on the incident. "The suspects will be brought to the Sepang Sessions Court for the remand application," he said when contacted on Friday. The case is classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, he added. "We hope the public will not speculate on the case or share unverified news that could jeopardise the investigation. "We will take stern action on any unlawful act," he said. It was previously reported that the victim, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student, was found dead in a students' hostel. The victim, who was from Kuching, Sarawak, was discovered unconscious with visible injuries on her body by her friend at about 10am on Tuesday (June 24). The friend then immediately alerted the police. She was living with five other students but they had returned home for the holidays on June 21, leaving her alone at the hostel as she was scheduled to sit for an upcoming examination. The victim's ATM card was among several valuables reported missing from the scene, including a laptop, mobile phone, and cash. Cops also found no element of rape in the murder of the victim. A post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
