Erik ten Hag's old measure has been axed

Back when Erik ten Hag was in charge of the club, he introduced a policy that saw players arrive at the stadium for a home game FOUR HOURS before kick-off.
It was a measure introduced by the old boss as he ditched staying at a hotel the night before a game.
But ahead of the new season, Amorim has axed Ten Hag's preparation method.
And the players have now been told to meet at the club's Carrington training ground before a match.

They will then travel for seven miles as a team to Old Trafford.
The plan is for them to arrive at the ground just two hours before kick-off.
Amorim has made the switch following Carrington's £50m redevelopment.
Explaining the decision, he said: "I always had the feeling that we arrive at Old Trafford and Old Trafford must be the centre of the game - but we cannot spend four hours there waiting for the game.

'And I feel with these facilities we can be here, preparing for the game away from Old Trafford and when we arrive at Old Trafford, we have to feel the fans and then go directly to the game, not killing the momentum of the connection with our fans.
'We know that we have a lot of people waiting there for us, to be with the players and to sign autographs. We will try to do the same.

'So, it's going to be the same experience for the fans.
'But for us it's going to be better because we are going to feel, nearer the game, the momentum with the fans and we will spend less time in there.'
A range of equipment and technology has been upgraded at Carrington with a focus on fitness, nutrition, recovery and team unity.
There is a new canteen area, swimming pool and space for players to relax.
The gym has undergone a major revamp and cryogenic chambers have been added to aid recovery.
Amorim now believes Carrington is the best place for the team to be before a game.
On the change, fans said: "Curious if this will impact performance in big pressure games. Does reducing pre-match build-up kill focus or sharpen it?"
Another added: "That sounds like a smart move. If Carrington has been upgraded to top level, it makes sense to use it as the hub players will feel more comfortable and focused before heading to Old Trafford."
A third wrote: "I always thought it was weird how early we turn up to games."

Ian Wright names Man Utd star 'nowhere near good enough' against Arsenal

Ian Wright has blasted the performance of Altay Bayindir in the defeat to Arsenal and Manchester United's failure to resolve their issues in goal. The Gunners sealed a 1-0 victory over their old rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday with Riccardo Calafiori scoring the only goal of the game after 13 minutes. Declan Rice's excellent corner caused havoc for the United goalkeeper who found himself trapped on his line. His tame attempt to clear the ball fell straight into the path of Calafiori who headed home from close range. United perhaps deserved more from the game with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo both superb on their competitive debuts, both denied goals by David Raya who was in excellent form in the Arsenal goal. Ruben Amorim's side have spent £200million rebuilding their attack this summer with Benjamin Sesko also making his debut off the bench late on. Despite that considerable outlay, problems in goal remain. Andre Onana, who was not deemed fit enough by Amorim to make the squad on Sunday, has failed to convince in his two seasons at the club with Wright believing Bayindir is 'nowhere near' the level required. For all the promise United showed in attack, the Arsenal legend insisted that good work will continue to be undermined and undone unless they solve their problem in goal. 'We have seen what happens with Andre Onana, we see it with Bayindir today and he is nowhere near it,' Wright told Premier League Productions. 'Man United with the money they have spent, they need more goals and addressed that and I think Cunha and Mbeumo were very good today but what is the point when your goalkeepers are going to be that bad. More Trending 'I don't know what is happening with [Gianluigi] Donnarumma, I don't know if he's coming here but they [United] really need to sort that goalkeeping situation out because they have lost the game on that. 'It is a hard one to take. I thought [Matthijs] de Ligt played very well, Cunha played well, Mbeumo played well, they didn't deserve to lose it like that on a keeper's poor technique. 'It's a terrible way to lose the game.' And goalkeeper Altay Bayindir was blasted by Roy Keane for his role in the defensive calamity that led to Arsenal's winner. Another added: 'Better team and you still lost.' Meanwhile, Amorim defended his decision to play reserve goalkeeper Bayindir after his blunder led to Arsenal's winner. The Turkish international flapped at a Declan Rice corner under pressure from William Saliba and presented Calafiori with a simple finish. Red Devils legend Keane blasted the understudy, who started as regular No 1 Andre Onana was not considered match fit. So he chooses to get the ball - but he's getting pushed. 'It's hard to accept when you lose a game like this. 'Players are touching the goalkeeper without the idea of going for the ball. So that is not allowed. 'We have referees making meetings that they should be going for the ball, but they are not going for the ball. 'They are looking for the ball. We know what they are doing.' Fernandes said: 'When you touch a goalkeeper when he wants to jump and go for the ball, that makes it difficult for him.' 'Altay was saying the moment he goes to get the ball he gets a touch but we know in the Premier League they don't give much in this type of situation. 'That's even though they had a meeting with us saying that they will whistle more if players block and don't look at the ball.' 6 Roy Keane was scathing in his criticism of Bayindir Credit: Alamy But Keane saw the incident differently, saying: 'If you are the goalkeeper just take control of the six-yard box. 'Keepers and defenders complain all the time that people are in their face - well, get in their face! 'Be aggressive. I have said many times to my goalkeeper: 'Come with violence. Come and be aggressive, that is your area, take control of it'. Asked about his decision to leave Onana on the sidelines, Amorim said it was a fitness issue, adding: 'It's not the case of dropping Ornana. 'It was not putting him in just one week after he returned, without seeing the game, without time, with training. 'I'm happy with the three goalkeepers we have.' Fernandes added: 'They created a lot, they were in the right positions. We know they are dangerous and they are a threat. 'We are very aware of what they can give to the team. After the game, which was decided by Riccardo Calafiori's scrappy 13th minute goal, Keane and Richards disagreed over Altay Bayindir's role in the winner. Under pressure from William Saliba as Declan Rice swung in a corner, the United stopper failed to deal with the delivery, which was then prodded home by Calafiori. As Richards claimed that Bayindir had needed more protection, Keane fumed: "Micah, this is big boy stuff.
