Fourth disappearance reported – have you seen Khulekani?
• The Nkambule family from Hendrina and Siyathuthuka is pleading with the community in Kriel for assistance in locating their loved one, Khulekani Nkambule (23).
He was last seen May 23 in Kriel, at the time of disappearance he was wearing all black clothes.
Anyone with information that could assist in locating Khulekani Nkambule is asked to please call Siyabonga Nkambule on 076 368 1397.
Nkambule's disappearance follows shortly on the following missing persons, all of whom have been reported to the Middelburg Observer:
• Thabisile Thabethe (36), was last seen on May 30 at a bar in Blinkpan before heading home, she lives on Welverdiend Farm, and since then the Blinkpan SAPS and community members have been trying to contact her, the K9 unit from Secunda was organised to search with no potential sighting till today.
• Meluleki Ndumiso Ncongwane (23) was last seen April 26, at the time of his disappearance he was wearing a grey and red tracksuit with white star sneakers. According to information Meluleki disappeared at around 22:00 between Stoffberg and Belfast Fourways, after being dropped off by a white Kia Picanto.
• Hendrina Police are pleading with the public for assistance in locating Johannes Sibanyoni (45).
Described as tall and light in complexion, Sibanyoni was last seen on May 25 wearing a blue shirt, brown trousers brown jacket, grey shoes and a black hat.
The help of the SAPS and community members who tirelessly work around the clock and being on the lookout is commendable.
They play an important role in the investigation processes.
These are cases that are complex and can be emotionally challenging for the families and loved ones.
The missing cases include the disappearance of minors and adults and it often includes foul play, mental health issues and other factors.
Anyone with information about any possible sighting of the above-mentioned can report to their nearest police station.

Tragedy as six-year-old boy drowns in Durban swimming pool
A six-year-old boy drowned in a residential swimming pool in Umbilo, Durban, last night. The Witness reports that Garrith Jamieson, the director of ALS Paramedics, says they were informed of a missing child in the area at around 18:00 last night and were placed on standby. 'Around 20:35, patrollers and security officials combing the area found the child in a residential pool in Brazilia Place in the Umbilo area,' he says. Jamieson adds that he was pulled from the water, and paramedics were dispatched to assist. 'Unfortunately, the child had suffered fatal injuries, and there was nothing paramedics could do for the little boy, who was 6 years old, and he was declared deceased on the scene,' he says. Missing 6-year-old child found drowned in pool in Durban
Paramedics were informed that the missing child in the Umbilo area of Durban. A 6-year-old child who was reported missing has tragically been found drowned in a pool at a home in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said they were informed of the missing child in the Umbilo area of Durban on Monday evening, around 6pm. Call out 'Paramedics were placed on standby. Around 08:35pm, patrollers and security officials, combing the area, found the child in a residential pool in Brazilia Place in the Umbilo area. 'Immediately, the child was pulled from the pool, and paramedics were dispatched to assist. Unfortunately, the child had suffered fatal injuries, and there was nothing Paramedics could do for the little boy, who was 6 years old, and he was declared deceased on the scene,' Jamieson said. Jamieson added that the scene was cordoned off and handed over to the South African Police Services (Saps) for investigations 'At this stage, the exact events leading up to the drowning are unknown; however, Saps were in attendance and will be investigating further.' Rescue boats took to the water from 8.30am to search for the pilot. The accident occurred just before 2pm on Thursday, when the ZS-AEC Extra 300 aircraft that was performing its final display crashed into the sea. Investigation Video footage circulated on social media showed the light aircraft looping in the sky before plummeting into the ocean and skidding for a distance. Emergency services, including ALS Paramedics, the Saps and the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), rushed to the scene of the incident in front of Suncoast Beach. The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) said its Accident and Incident Investigations Division (AIID) is probing the cause of the crash. Empangeni drivers arrested in weekend blitz
Of the 77 motorists arrested in KZN for driving under the influence of alcohol over the weekend, 11 are from Empangeni. With a notable rise in fatal crashes during payday weekends, specifically on the 15th and 25th, the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI), in partnership with SAPS, Durban Metro Police, uMsunduzi Traffic, and other traffic officers across various municipalities, worked tirelessly from Friday night into the early hours of Saturday to enforce the Zero Tolerance, No Nonsense and Alufakwa campaign. ALSO READ: KZN traffic officials clamp down on lawlessness With more than 30 road fatalities in August thus far, Transport MEC Siboniso Duma has instructed the teams to show 'no mercy' to those found breaking the law. Research and data from the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) indicates 27.1% of fatal crashes are related to drunk driving, while the Road Accident Fund (RAF) said it paid out R43b in injury benefits to accident survivors aged between 15 and 34 from 2020 to 2022, as well as an additional R2.86b in youth death-related benefits. On a mission to save the youth of tomorrow by ensuring the roads are free of negligent and irresponsible drivers, sting operation teams were led by a female commander, with teams consisting mainly of women enforcement officers. They achieved the following: • 77 motorists arrested for drinking and driving • 251 vehicles were stopped • 11 motorists had no driver's licences • 2 vehicles 'resembling moving coffins' were suspended and removed from the roads In addition to the 11 arrests in Empangeni, other apprehensions included 29 in Durban, 17 in Pietermaritzburg, 12 in Kokstad and five in Ladysmith.
