Elliot Page debuts first romance since marriage split
Elliot Page has debuted his first public relationship since his 2021 divorce.
The 38-year-old actor celebrated Pride month by unveiling his new romance with Overcompensating star Julia Shiplett, 38, with a sweet post on Instagram.
Elliot shared a picture of them cuddling on a street painted rainbow and captioned the picture with rainbow and double heart emojis.
Julia also shared some pictures of Elliot shirtless in a hot spring to her Instagram Stories.
She added the exhaling and the water droplet emojis and wrote: 'Happy prideee.'
This is the first public romance for Elliot since his marriage to Emma Portner ended four years ago.
The pair tied the knot in 2018 and Emma was publicly supportive when Elliot came out as transgender in December 2020.
However, they filed for divorce in January 2021 and revealed they had been secretly separated since the previous summer.
They said in a joint statement at the time: 'After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce following our separation last summer. We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends.'
While Julia is Elliot's first public partner since the split, he revealed previously that he was enjoying dating following the divorce and his transition.
He told the Los Angeles Times: 'It's the most fun I've ever had dating. Interacting with people feels so much easier and more connected, because I'm not feeling lost in myself and not seen in the right way.'

Elliot Page goes public with first post-transition relationship
Love is in the air for Elliot Page and Julia Shiplett. The X-Men star debuted his new romance with the Overcompensating actress via Instagram on Saturday by sharing a sweet selfie of them together. While he didn't share any additional details regarding the relationship, he captioned the photo with a rainbow emoji and a double-heart emoji. In the picture, Page stood alongside Shiplett, who plays Mimi on the Prime Video series, as he grinned in front of a rainbow-paved road. Shiplett, 38, appeared to confirm the relationship on her social media, sharing a photo to her Instagram Stories of the shirtless Umbrella Academy actor relaxing in a hot spring. 'Happy prideee,' she wrote across the photo. Page, also 38, has not been in a public relationship since he came out as a trans man in 2020. However, he opened up about his dating life in June 2023, telling the Los Angeles Times that he was having 'the most fun I've ever had dating.' 'Interacting with people feels so much easier and more connected,' he added, 'because I'm not feeling lost in myself and not seen in the right way.' The Juno star was previously married to Emma Portner from 2018 to 2021. In his 2023 memoir Pageboy, the actor also revealed he was once in a secret relationship for two years with a closeted actress whom he refers to as 'Ryan.' 'My partner was more closeted than me for a change,' Page wrote. 'We were together for almost two years, and even some of my closest friends were not aware I was in a relationship. Her parents did not know.' Page recalled the relationship as not being 'sustainable' as he detailed the reason behind their break-up. 'People didn't 'think she was queer,' but they definitely assumed I was, and I don't think she could handle the shame,' he shared. 'Ultimately, she had to do what was best for her, and unfortunately, it resulted in my heart being shattered.' Page has also been romantically linked to actress Kate Mara and his 'Juno' co-star Olivia Thirlby.
