Being constantly on the move often wreaks havoc on your skin. Follow these expert-backed Ayurvedic rituals that can help you restore your skin's natural glow.
Whether you're backpacking through the mountains, hopping time zones on a work trip, or jetting off for a much-needed beach vacation, travel brings with it a unique set of challenges, especially for your skin. Long flights, sudden weather changes, irregular sleep patterns, and a disrupted routine can easily lead to dryness, dullness, puffiness, or even unexpected breakouts. Add to that the stress of planning, packing, and unfamiliar diets, and it's no surprise that your skin starts acting up just when you want to look your best.
That's where ancient wisdom meets modern skincare. Pooja Nagdev, cosmetologist and founder of Inatur, shares a few Ayurvedic-inspired rituals that can help keep your skin balanced, hydrated, and resilient, no matter how chaotic your itinerary gets.
2. Hydrate Inside-Out: Water alone won't cut it. Nagdev recommends going deeper: 'Add fennel seeds or turmeric to lukewarm water before or during your travels. It's anti-inflammatory and helps your gut, which is directly connected to your skin."
3. Keep a Facial Mist Handy: Dry air is a skin saboteur. 'Carry a rose water or thermal spring mist. It keeps the skin calm, hydrated, and pH-balanced during long flights or extreme weather conditions," she says.
4. Stick to the Basics: Travel isn't the time to experiment. Nagdev advises, 'Avoid actives like retinol or AHAs. Use a gentle cleanser, a basic hydrating cream, and sunscreen. Let your skin rest, not react."
5. Support Your Gut for Better Skin: Digestive disturbances can show up as puffiness or breakouts. Nagdev's tip? 'Cumin-coriander-fennel tea reduces bloating and inflammation — helping both your gut and your skin."
6. Moisturise the Nose & Eyes Too: Air travel can cause nasal dryness and tired eyes. 'Apply ghee or petroleum jelly inside the nostrils before flying," Nagdev suggests. She also recommends rose water or eye drops to refresh the eyes, along with limiting screen time and getting quality sleep.
7. Prioritise Recovery: 'Use hydrating sheet masks or soothing moisturizers with niacinamide or panthenol to repair your barrier overnight," she says. Rest is your skin's best reset.

Schengen Visa to Go Digital? Here's All You Need To Know For Next Trip To Europe

Last Updated: Under the new EES framework, the biometric data of non-EU nationals be collected and stored for three years. The European Union has announced a significant update to its border control procedures, with the introduction of a new digital Entry/Exit System (EES) set to launch on October 12. The system will gradually replace the traditional practice of passport stamping across the Schengen Area with modern biometric checks, including fingerprinting and facial recognition. Under the new EES framework, the biometric data of the UK, US and non-EU nationals, such as fingerprints, facial images, and key travel details, will be collected and stored to streamline border crossings and enhance security. The system is designed to simplify travel between the 29 countries that currently make up the Schengen Zone, which includes 25 EU nations along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. According to a press release from the European Commission, member states will begin rolling out the system from mid-October, with full implementation expected within next six months. Once in place, travellers entering or exiting the EU's external borders will be required to use self-service kiosks to scan their passports or travel documents. Unlike the current system, where border officials manually stamp passports, EES aims to automate and expedite the process. Registration will be free of charge. The new digital entry system will register each traveller's name, type of travel document, biometric data, and the date and location of entry and exit. This information will be stored in a central database for three years and used to monitor compliance with short-stay limits and detect overstays. The EES will also benefit frequent travellers, including cross-border commuters, by reducing paperwork and wait times at borders. The move forms part of the EU's wider strategy to strengthen security while embracing technological innovation in border management. 'By working closely with Member States and the transport sector, we are creating a secure, efficient, and travel-friendly framework that reflects Europe's commitment to both security and technological innovation," said Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy. As reported by Euronews, the UK government has allocated nearly £3.5 million (€4.1 million) each to Eurostar, Eurotunnel, and the Port of Dover to assist with setting up the new registration kiosks ahead of the system's rollout. view comments First Published: August 01, 2025, 23:47 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Surbhi Jyoti's Marital Life With Sumit Suri Surbhi Jyoti is currently living her best life with Sumit Suri, but it is far from what you think. Giving a peek into her marital life, the actress earlier told Pinkvilla, 'He also works from home, and I'm also at home when I'm not shooting. We're not desperate to go out or anything. We're just very happy because in our house, we have our separate rooms. That's also by choice because he has lived alone for most of his life. Same with me. So for us, it felt natural. Again, it's a mutual decision. It's rare, but it does happen. I've heard that." She added, 'We also decided that we wanted our own rooms, my own cupboard, my own bathroom, my own wardrobe, and you know, my space. So yeah, that's how it is sometimes. He's in his room, I'm in mine, but still, we're together." FYI, Surbhi Jyoti and Sumit Suri got married last year in Uttarakhand.
