Gita Jayanti will be held in association with Britain: Haryana CM
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said this time, International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav would be celebrated in association with Britain.
'Every year, International Gita Jayanti programmes are organised in collaboration with different countries. The event sees the participation of lakhs of devotees who gather at the sacred Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra every year,' he said.
The Chief Minister was talking to the media after the organisation of a state-level Yoga marathon organised at Brahma Sarovar in association with the Sports Department, AYUSH Department and the district administration.
Speaking on political developments in neighbouring Punjab, he said, 'The people of Punjab, once disillusioned by the Congress, are now equally disappointed with the Aam Aadmi Party. Both parties have only made empty promises and worked for their own interests. The public has now made up its mind to bring change and make the lotus bloom in Punjab too'.
Replying to a question, the Chief Minister said the people of the state are well aware of the law and order during the Congress rule. 'Now, the law and order is continuously getting stronger in the state. Wherever there is a violation of law and order, the police investigate and take strict action against the accused.' He also expressed grief over the plane crash in Ahmedabad and prayed for the families of the Air India plane crash.
'It is not in the hands of anyone to tell when an accident may happen. In this accident, a daughter of our district has also lost her life, which is very sad news. At such a time, the government is standing with the affected families to provide all kinds of support.' On the occasion, former minister of state Subhash Sudha, Director General of the Sports Department, Sanjeev Verma, Chairman of Yog Aayog, Jaideep Arya, Zila Parishad Chairman Kanwaljit Kaur, among others, were present.

Kurukshetra: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Sunday that this year's International Gita Mahotsav (IGM) will be celebrated in collaboration with England, marking a significant step towards taking the spiritual message of the Bhagavad Gita to a global audience. The announcement came during a media interaction after the state-level yoga marathon held at the sacred Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra. The CM said every year a different country is chosen to host or participate in the global celebrations of the Gita Jayanti. This year, Swami Gyananand, RSS ideologue and Bhagavad Gita scholar, is visiting England to discuss the arrangements and significance of the upcoming international event. "The efforts of Swami Gyananand to spread the message of the Gita across the world are invaluable," the CM added, emphasising the global resonance of the scripture and its moral teachings. He highlighted that millions of devotees gather annually at Brahma Sarovar for the Gita Jayanti celebrations, showcasing Kurukshetra's spiritual and cultural significance. The international expansion of this celebration, he noted, aligns with India's growing soft power and spiritual diplomacy. During his address, Saini also took a political swipe at the opposition, claiming that Punjab's public is now completely disillusioned. "Earlier they were fed up with the Congress, and now they are extremely fed up with the Aam Aadmi Party," he said. "Both parties misled the people with false promises and worked only for their personal gain. The public has now made up its mind to support the BJP and bring about real development. " Speaking on law and order, he stated that the people of Haryana are well aware of the deterioration during the Congress regime. "Now, law and order in the state has improved. Wherever violations occur, the police take strict and immediate action after investigation," he said, underlining his administration's commitment to safety and justice. New Delhi [India], June 15 (ANI): Congress leader Pawan Khera on Sunday flagged the issue of over 1,500 Indian students being stranded in Iran's Tehran while slamming the Indian government for being 'largely unresponsive' amid the ongoing conflict between the Middle Eastern country and Israel. 'Indian students in Iran are calling for help. But the government remains largely unresponsive, even as missiles rain from the sky. With flights suspended, airspace over Tehran closed, and internet access disrupted, more than 1500 Indian students are left in a state of precarity and uncertainty - with no information about evacuation or safe zones,' Khera posted on X. Although the Indian embassy in Iran has issued an advisory for students, the Congress leader added that it remains 'unresponsive' for students who remain distressed. 'The Indian Embassy has issued a generic advisory urging the students to 'remain vigilant, avoid all unnecessary movements, follow the Embassy's Social Media accounts and observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities'.
