Justin Bieber,
It's about as surprising as surprise drops get — Justin Bieber, one of the 10 greatest pop stars of the 21st century, returning from a four-year absence with a 21-track new set on about 10 hours' notice. And within a couple tracks of Swag, it's pretty clear this is Bieber as we've never really heard him before — stripped of most of his usual big pop trappings, with a much more organic-sounding, alt-R&B-focused sound aided by recognizable sonic architects like Dijon, Mk.Gee and new primary artistic partner Carter Lang supporting his tender ballads of love and devotion. Fans hoping for an album full of 'Sorry's (or even 'Peaches'es) may be disappointed, but Beliebers who never stopped returning to the eerie confessionals of Journals or the hushed intimacy of Changes will undoubtedly be elated.
Clipse,
The first album for legendary rap duo Clipse in over 15 years, Let God Sort Em Out sees Pusha T and Malice reunited and locked in like the time off was just a long battery recharge. The first two tracks alone show the kind of purpose and focus few rap albums can manage across 10 times that long: opener 'The Birds Don't Sing' finds the brother duo paying heart-rending tribute to a late parent each, while explosive second cut 'Chains & Whips' invites the biggest rapper in the world along to take aim at their collective foes — including one obvious common enemy between at least two of them. It helps immensely, of course, that this reunion also includes another crucial member of the extended family: regular producer and occasional hook-singer Pharrell, whose beats invoke the grimy urgency of his '00s work for the duo without ever sounding like he's just playing the hits.
BLACKPINK, 'Jump'
After the solo bows of all four of its members over the past year — and with heightened global excitement around K-pop girl groups in general, thanks to the runaway success of Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters and its HUNTR/X protagonists — the time couldn't be much better for a BLACKPINK comeback. And luckily, the quartet has the song to do it with: 'JUMP' eschews the slowers, dubsteppier drops that have characterized most of BLACKPINK's biggest singles for a more frenetic, hardstyle-indebted synth breakdown and quaking beat that feels as exciting as anything the group has ever released. 'Are you not entertained?' LISA asks on the second verse, no doubt rhetorically.
Deftones, 'My Mind Is a Mountain'
'We've been waiting here, patiently/ Locked in this state, clocking our time,' Deftones frontman Chino Moreno howls on the band's new single. Indeed, 'My Mind Is a Mountain' comes five years after the band's most recent album, 2020's Ohms, and sees the quintet immediately returning to its strengths: simultaneously lush and punishing guitar grooves over crashing-wave drums, with Moreno's anguished sensuality tying it all together. The millions of new fans the band has picked up over a half-decade of seemingly perpetual TikTok virality should be thrilled with their first taste of new Deftones.
GIVĒON,
Following his return to the Billboard Hot 100 this year with both the Teddy Swims collab 'Are You Even Real' and his own solo 'Twenties,' R&B hitmaker GIVĒON returns this week with the new album Beloved — his first 2022 debut Give or Take. The sound of Beloved is more classic '70s soul than modern R&B — check out the Al Green horns on 'Rather Be' of the Stylistics electric sitar of 'Twenties' and 'Numb' — but kept fresh by the distinctiveness of GIVĒON's voice, sonorous, soaring and forever exquisitely pained.
Tyla, 'Is It'
The new single from the South African global pop star slithers around a winding beat, with an earworm chorus of Tyla asking 'Is it wrong/ That I wanna get right with you?' and a requisite breakdown section that you can already tell is going to make for some highlight moments during live performances. 'We outside. We're catching party vibes,' Tyla told Billboard in June, and 'Is It' is strong evidence that those vibes have already been caught.

Ellen DeGeneres backs Rosie O'Donnell after Trump threatened to revoke her U.S. citizenship

Ellen DeGeneres is showing support for Rosie O'Donnell. One day after President Donald Trump threatened to revoke O'Donnell's U.S. citizenship following her move to Ireland earlier this year, DeGeneres - who also reportedly fled the country after Trump was elected president - gave her fellow comedian a public shout out. "Good for you," DeGeneres, 67, who reposted Trump's threat and O'Donnell's lengthy response on Instagram. On Saturday, Trump referred to O'Donnell as a "threat to humanity." "Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship," Trump wrote in a post to his social media platform Truth Social. "She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!" he added. O'Donnell quickly responded to Trump's jab in several posts that she shared on her social media pages. The "A League of Their Own" star posted a collage of photos centered around a screenshot of Trump's post on Instagram and blasted the politician in the caption. "The president of the USA has always hated the fact that i see him for who he is - a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself," she wrote. "This is why i moved to Ireland - he is a dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity." "I stand in direct opposition [to] all he represents- so do millions of others - u gonna deport all who stand against ur evil tendencies - ur a bad joke who cant form a coherent sentence," O'Donnell added along with the hashtag "never trump." The former talk show host later shared a screenshot of her Instagram post on TikTok, where she slammed Trump in the caption, writing that he was a "disgrace to all our beautiful country stands for" and a "danger to our nation." O'Donnell went on to bash Trump as a "mentally ill untreated criminal," claiming that he "lied to America for a decade" during his time hosting the hit reality TV series "The Apprentice." "Had u grown up in NY - as I did - u would know what a total fool he is. Add me to the list of people who oppose him at every turn -it's now or never America," she wrote. Representatives for the White House, DeGeneres and O'Donnell did not respond to Fox News Digital's immediate request for comment. Despite Trump's post, O'Donnell's citizenship is unlikely to be in jeopardy. The 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to any person born in the United States and the actress was born in Commack, New York. In addition, many legal experts agree that the government cannot unilaterally revoke the citizenship of a natural-born citizen. One exception is if the government was able to prove that citizenship was obtained through fraud in the case of naturalization. In addition, citizenship can be revoked if an individual commits certain actions, including treason, serving in a foreign military engaged in hostilities against the U.S., or renouncing citizenship. O'Donnell confirmed her move to Ireland in March, saying she left the U.S. days before Trump's inauguration, and explained the new location would be a good fit for her 12-year-old son, Clay. DeGeneres, much like O'Donnell, left the country recently to establish a new life with wife Portia de Rossi across the pond. In April, O'Donnell admitted that while she hasn't been in touch with DeGeneres lately, she was "shocked" to hear why the former talk show host fled the United States. "I've never really known Ellen to say anything political in her life, so I was surprised to read that she left because of President Trump. Like, that shocked me, actually," O'Donnell told Us Weekly. "I've been a political person my whole life, not better or worse, it's just a different way to be in the world." "I was very clear about the reason why I was leaving, and I don't think it came as a surprise to anyone. We're not really in each other's worlds, and it's been kind of awkward but you know what? I wish her the best. I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK." While they've never had a strong relationship, O'Donnell insisted she harbors no ill will for the comedian. "I don't want to fight against another gay woman. It's not like we're tenaciously opposed to each other," O'Donnell told the outlet. "We're just very different people. We have had some stuff in the past that we never resolved. And not in any way as, as partners or lovers or anything like that, just as friends and comedians, but I wish her the best. I seriously do." She added, "I think that there's enough room in the world for all of the gay comedians, and we all need to stick together because gay people are the next group to be threatened. And the way they attack trans people is absolutely terrifying."

Kendrick Lamar's Drake Diss Becomes His Longest-Running Global Hit

Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us' beats "Money Trees" with Jay Rock on the Billboard Global 200, ... More becoming the rapper's longest-charting hit on the global ranking. NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - FEBRUARY 09: Kendrick Lamar performs onstage during Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show at Caesars Superdome on February 09, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by) Despite being one of the most recognizable figures in hip-hop for more than a decade, it wasn't until last year that Kendrick Lamar earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The chart, which Billboard introduced in 2020, ranks the most popular individual tracks around the world, using a methodology that combines sales and streaming activity. Amid his feud with Drake, Lamar released "Not Like Us"—a track that not only topped the list, but which has since become a career-defining hit and the Grammy winner's longest-running smash around the world. "Not Like Us" Becomes Kendrick Lamar's Longest-Charting Hit "Not Like Us" lives on the Billboard Global 200 more than a year after it first reached the summit. This week, the track falls slightly, dipping from No. 37 to No. 44, but it still manages to earn its sixty-first frame somewhere on the tally. With one more stay on the list, the diss tune becomes Lamar's longest-charting hit on the global ranking. Beating "Money Trees" on the Billboard Global 200 Prior to this week, "Not Like Us" was tied with "Money Trees," Lamar's collaboration with Jay Rock, in terms of longevity. That composition previously led among the rapper's longest-running hits, with an even 60 weeks spent on the Billboard Global 200. Now, "Money Trees" slips to second place as "Not Like Us" takes the lead. Only Two No. 1 Hits, and a Dozen Top 10s Lamar has only reached No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 twice, though he has collected a dozen top 10 hits. His first trip to the top came in April 2024 as a featured artist on "Like That," which is fronted by Future and Metro Boomin. Some of Lamar's bars in that track offended Drake and helped ignite their public feud. Just over a month later, "Not Like Us" launched at No. 1, doubling the rapper's career total of chart champions. U.S. Consumption Keeps "Not Like Us" Going Strong consumption of "Not Like Us" in America is largely responsible for its continued presence on the Billboard Global 200. The tune currently ranks at No. 85 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., a list that removes all U.S.-based listening data. The discrepancy in position shows who is still listening to 'Not Like Us' in the greatest numbers. Lamar remains inside the top 10 on half a dozen U.S. charts with "Not Like Us," more than a year after the cut was released.
