FED up with sky-high rents and an endless game of house hopscotch, a young Brit has embraced van life, living off just £650 a month with her dog.
Fashion photographer Nicole Keefe, 27, had lived in 18 homes by 2023, leaving her feeling 'trapped' and 'miserable', and losing hope that she would ever get on the property ladder.

Having been frequently moved as a child, this trend continued into her adulthood due to 'things not going right' with partners.
But she has now hit the road with her beagle-petit griffon Vendeen Mix, Linda McCartney, named in honour of her idol the designer, in a converted Ford Transit.
Having joined a growing number of young people embracing van life, she feels she has become her "favourite version of herself."
Newcastle-born Nicole now lives off less than £650 a month- less than she has ever spent on rent, and can even afford a gym membership, having before felt she couldn't even 'afford a social life.'
According to Right Move, the majority of properties sold in Washington, Durham, last year were terraced properties going for an average of £126,930- far out of her price range.
Following the writing off of her old car and following others on social media who had embraced the nomadic van life, she moved into the vehicle in September 2023.
She snapped up the van for just £8.5k on Facebook Marketplace, she has kitted it out with her signature leopard print flair and even added an air fryer to the bed, kitchen, sink and solar panels.
She told PA Real Life: 'It was all very minimalist …. I kept the base the same. There's a kitchen area, sink, bed, solar panels, and I added in a fridge, gas camping hob and air fryer and got a new mattress.
'I made it a bit more me, adding in some leopard print and just decorating it over time.'
For the first nine months, she continued her 9-5 fashion photography job, parking near the office in a car park and whizzing off around the country on the weekends with her pooch at her side.

The turning point came when she landed a cleaning gig at a Dorset campsite via a nomad Facebook Group, and from there, she built her freelance social media career, snapping pics and managing social media for businesses, gaining thousands of followers.
She was offered the cleaning gig, an hour after a virtual interview and immediately quit her 9-5 job and sped off to Dorset.
Nicole spent three months working there with her pooch, exploring the South Coast on her days off.
While she found the freedom 'really lovely', at first she struggled with limited human interaction, as she 'hated her own company.'
But gradually she got used to going to coffee shops on her own, and 'enjoying being alone.'
The companionship of her furry friend, Linda, is key, and she makes a point of FaceTiming her family, friends and long-distance partner.
She said: 'When I was moving home, I used to all the time, and it would always take McCartney a month or two to get settled.
'He would cry and bark if he were left alone in the house, but he got used to the van in two days, and I think he loves his routine.'
Having swapped the cleaning job for a barista job in Winchester, she has now managed to become a full-time content creator for businesses.
Her social media presence is ballooning with her TikTok account @thevanclub hitting 4.5k and her Instagram followers reaching 1.8k.
This has allowed her complete nomadic freedom and so far, she has travelled up and down the country, ping ponging from Snowdonia to Cornwall, popping by Warwickshire, exploring Scotland and travelling throughout the North East.
She said: 'Since then I've gone wherever I want to go – it's quite a weird thing to adjust to because I don't have anywhere I need to be unless I've got a photography job.'Long-term, she plans to continue her motoring adventure for four years, and even if she eventually buys a house, will continue to whizz around the country on the weekends.

Boden's 'gorgeous' £250 coat perfect for autumn now £100
Boden's 'gorgeous' £250 coat perfect for autumn now £100 'I love love this mac coat. It's very high quality, the colour is fabulous and fit is true to size' The Windsor Heritage Mac comes in a rich hazelnut brown and a 'jazzy' checked lining which makes this coat stand out (Image: Boden) Boden shoppers have been raving about a trench coat that they say is perfect for autumn. The Windsor Heritage Mac was £250 but is now £100, offering a £150 save for fashion enthusiasts. The coat is available in petite and regular fits with UK sizes ranging from eight to 22 while sizes four and six are currently unavailable. The Windsor Heritage Mac comes in a rich hazelnut brown and a "jazzy" checked lining which makes this coat stand out. You could easily style it with a pair of denim jeans, a thin jumper, and your favourite tee underneath for a more completed look. READ MORE: New Look's selling a £39 hooded puffer similar to Lululemon's £278 jacket LATEST: Boden's 'like being wrapped in a luxury duvet' coat is now 60% off However this coat could also be styled for more formal settings. Boden's description of the Windsor Heritage Mac reads: " Our Windsor heritage mac is just about as British as a cup of tea and queuing. We've taken the classic mac and modernised it with a boxier cut and raglan sleeves, then finished it with a jazzy checked lining that peeks out at the collar and cuffs too." The mac is made out of 100% cotton in the main section while the lining is crafted from 100% cotton. It also comes with functional pockets, as do most of Boden's clothing, but they are tacked closed to help the garment hold its shape. The tacking is designed to be removed. The Windsor Heritage Mac also comes with an oversized look – a loose fitting which means there is plenty of room to move. It is also designed to fall at mid-calf and has a button fastening at the front. The coat comes in petite and regular fits with UK sizes ranging from eight to 22 available (Image: Boden) While the coat is water-resistant Boden recommends that it is dry clean only. If you are looking for a similar looking coat that is ideal for the autumn but from an alternative retailer Next has the Trench Coat with Contrast Collar in khaki green colour for £85. Meanwhile the Faux Suede Belted Trench Coat in a tan colour from New Look has a cheaper price tag at £45. Back at Boden the Windsor Heritage Mac has received a rating of 4.5 out of five stars based on 29 reviews. " Oh my goodness, could this coat be any more perfect," one customer said. "Beautifully made and the fabric is a perfect weight for an Australian winter. The lining is just that hint of fun that Boden is so well known for. I did downsize this coat as our Winter weather here in Melbourne AU doesn't call for bulking up with a huge amount of layers and I'm glad I did. It will wear perfectly with a shirt and a thin jumper. I purchased a 14 and I normally wear a 16 but I'll still state the sizing is spot on. Extremely happy with this classic Mac." Another buyer reviewed: "I love love this mac coat. It's very high quality, the colour is fabulous and fit is true to size. I prefer a slightly oversized look, so will be exchanging for the next size up. Great value for the money. The checked inside lining is a great touch. Don't wait, get your size before it is gone." A third remarked: "Just what I have been looking for. Can't wait to wear in the autumn. Perfect sizing too". But not everyone was happy with their purchase. One reviewer commented: "Beautiful well made coat with a lovely cheerful check lining. Liked the colour and it fitted true to size. Unfortunately for me it was heavier than I expected, and it was quite a straight coat. I was looking for a lighter more flared shape, so sadly had to return it, but a very nice coat for the right person." Article continues below However, most were happy with the coat. "Beautiful mac/raincoat," one said. "Excellent quality. Very stylish and wonderful colour with the check adding extra style. I can't wait to wear it. I am just short of 5ft (ordered petite) and it fit perfectly. They say you get what you pay for. Extremely, good value for money. Thank you."

Walkers makes big change to iconic crisps and shoppers are furious
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SHOPPERS are pleading with Walkers after it changed its blue salt sachets in crisp packets to light-coloured ones, making them hard to find. The small bags are included in the brand's popular "Salt & Shake" crisps to allow fans to sprinkle over their own seasoning. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Foodies are furious after Walkers made a change to its Salt & Shake crisps 2 The new salt packet colour makes it difficult to find But lately production problems have meant that the traditional blue bags have been changed to a see-through white colour. One fan complained on the Tesco website: "I took several crisps into my mouth as there was no blue salt packet amongst them. However, I immediately got a mouthful of salt! "As a kidney transplant recipient I need to avoid salt... Please make everyone aware." There were further complaints on X, where fans complained of struggling to find the condiment. Read more on snacks MEX IT UP Four of UK's coolest afternoon teas from Mexican snacks to flower-themed cakes One said: "For the love of crisps, can you PLEASE go back to the blue sachet in Salt & Shake. "I've been getting these clear/white ones recently and they're bloody impossible to find in the bag without taking loads of crisps out!" A second added: "Please make the salt sachet in your Salt & Shake crisps blue again! The transparent ones are impossible to find among the crisps! 'Surely the whole point of them being blue was to be easy to find, and as a homage to the old 'blue twist' from the old days?' A third fumed: "Awful idea to have white salt bags ! I thought I'd found a plaster." A fourth asked: "Why have you changed the salt pkt colour from blue which was easy to find in the bag to a clear pkt which can't be seen." Healthier Twists on Scotland's Beloved Square Sausage Walkers did not comment to The Sun, but said on "We're unable to source the blue sachets at the moment, so we've replaced these with an alternative. 'We'll revert to the blue sachets again as soon as possible." Crisps sold with separate salt bags have a tradition of more than 100 years in this country. According to the first company to sell crisps commercially was The Smiths Potato Crisps Company Ltd, founded in 1920 by Frank Smith and Jim Viney. They provided a twist of salt with their crisps, which were sold in London in greaseproof paper bags. Smith's was later taken over by PepsiCo, along with the Walkers brand. Why are products axed or recipes changed? ANALYSIS by chief consumer reporter James Flanders. Food and drinks makers have been known to tweak their recipes or axe items altogether. They often say that this is down to the changing tastes of customers. There are several reasons why this could be done. For example, government regulation, like the "sugar tax," forces firms to change their recipes. Some manufacturers might choose to tweak ingredients to cut costs. They may opt for a cheaper alternative, especially when costs are rising to keep prices stable. For example, Tango Cherry disappeared from shelves in 2018. It has recently returned after six years away but as a sugar-free version. Fanta removed sweetener from its sugar-free alternative earlier this year. Suntory tweaked the flavour of its flagship Lucozade Original and Orange energy drinks. While the amount of sugar in every bottle remains unchanged, the supplier swapped out the sweetener aspartame for sucralose. Recipe changes that have angered customers It's not the first time foodies have expressed their dismay at production changes. Earlier this year, Ribena fans complained about a change to the popular drink which has left it tasting 'vile'. Ribena had reformulated its blackcurrant squash recipe to slightly reduce its blackcurrant juice content. The new squash started to be sold at the beginning of March but shortly after fans have flooded social media with complaints about the product. Other popular brands have caused complaints after they updated their recipes. Aldi was slammed by fans after it changed its popular Meatsters snack. The popular snack is an own-brand dupe of the Peperami salami sticks and costs £1.99 for a pack of five. The Sun understands there has been a change to the way Meatsters are produced. Meanwhile, fans have previously complained that they could not find the Meatsters in stores. Meanwhile, Heinz was slammed by shoppers last year after it changed the ingredients in its baked beans with sausages. Sainsbury's customers also recently complained about a change to its Sweetened Long Life Soya Drink 1L. Nestle was also bombarded with complaints on social media about its Fruit Pastilles and Jelly Tots.
