‘Black Myth: Wukong' Sequel ‘Zhong Kui' Set From Developer Game Science

A sequel to Game Science's hit 2024 video game 'Black Myth: Wukong,' titled 'Black Myth: Zhong Kui,' was revealed during the Opening Night Live presentation at Gamescom 2025 on Tuesday. Per a post shared on X by China-based developer and publisher Game Science, 'This single-player action role-playing game draws its primary creative inspiration from the famed Chinese folk figure 'Zhong Kui.'' More from Variety Gaming the Future: 'Black Myth: Wukong' Boosts Chinese Companies Looking to Reap Rich IP Rewards From Video Games Chinese Game 'Black Myth: Wukong' Is an Instant Global Hit, Attracting Great Reviews, Praise at Home and Controversy Abroad A cinematic teaser of the game was shared during Gamescom, but, 'as the project is still in early development, no in-game footage is available at this time,' Game Science noted. In an FAQ section on its website, Game Science addressed why it has chosen to make a 'Black Myth' game based on a new myth, rather than a direct sequel to 'Wukong,' writing: 'Thanks to the unwavering support from our players, the first 'Black Myth' title has landed safely. Upon completing the journey with the Destined One, we now aspire to take a tentative first step — to build more distinct game experiences, to challenge ourselves with bolder features, and to bring fresh ideas to our world and narrative design. 'Zhong Kui' came as a natural choice born of that aspiration and other contributing factors. We are confident that, in this new project, we can make refreshing changes, create new things, while taking a hard look at past flaws and regrets. And to all friends who love 'Black Myth: Wukong,' the westward journey won't end here.' Watch the teaser for 'Black Myth: Zhong Kui' below. The World's Best Hotels for Music Lovers

Music isn't just something we stream—it's something we seek out. In an era where live experiences are more coveted than ever, travelers are chasing sound in all forms: flying to Europe to catch Taylor Swift on the cheap, crisscrossing the country to see Dead & Co. on their (latest) farewell tour, or mapping out itineraries around festivals, crate-digging sessions, or that perfect late-night set. Gig tripping may be a deemed a recent trend, but fans have been doing this for decades. Hotels have taken note. Music programming is becoming more intentional, and properties are investing in everything from intimate performance spaces and analog listening rooms to in-house vinyl libraries. Some are designed around musical eras, with suites named for opera characters; others curate playlists to pair with tasting menus. I get the appeal. My first job out of college was at an indie rock magazine. I married a former music writer and DJ, and together we've amassed a vinyl collection in the thousands. We even produced a toddler so into music that we've built entire vacations around exposing him to new instruments and genres (sitar in India, qanun in Saudi Arabia, and dancehall in Jamaica). What follows are 10 hotels where music isn't just background noise—it's the whole reason to book. Our top picks: Best for shredding in your suite with a borrowed Fender: Hotel Ziggy Best for grunge pilgrims and indie rock fans: Hotel Crocodile Best for classical connoisseurs: Schloss Elmau
