Pigmentation, Dullness, And Uneven Patches- Expert Shares Tips To Get Even Skin Tone

NDTV5 days ago
In the pursuit of achieving a radiant and even-toned skin, many of us find ourselves scurrying around multiple products, each for a different skin requirement. Uneven patches, pigmentation, and dullness are common skin concerns that result from a variety of factors like stress, age, sun exposure and hormonal imbalances. While makeup can offer you a temporary fix, using the right ingredients and nurturing your skin will create a lasting change. Here we've some tips that will help understand your skin and create a targeted skincare regime that works beneath the surface to nourish and repair.
How to achieve even skin tone
Caring for your skin isn't just about chasing a glow; it's about protecting it from everyday concerns like dark spots, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, and dryness. Achieving an even skin tone goes beyond lightening spots; it's really about restoring balance and keeping your skin deeply hydrated. One of the easiest (and most effective) ways to give your skin some TLC is by using a nourishing skincare oil. It not only enhances your natural radiance but also locks in essential moisture. They may help improve the appearance of pigmentation, blemishes, and uneven skin tone caused by hormonal changes, sun exposure, or the overuse of skin lighteners, making it a multitasking must-have for your routine.
Enriched with the goodness of natural oils like Chamomile, Vitamin E, Sunflower, Lavender, Rosemary, and PurCellin can work wonders. Rosemary Oil invigorates and conditions the skin while Calendula Oil helps treat sensitive, damaged or sunburnt skin and reduces inflammation. Lavender Oil offers a calming, soothing effect along with natural antiseptic properties, and Chamomile Oil acts as an anti-inflammatory, making it ideal for sensitive skin. Vitamin A helps calm and protect, whereas Vitamin E shields the skin from free radicals, preventing premature aging while restoring hydration. PurCellin, a breakthrough ingredient, enhances smoothness, allowing the oil to absorb quickly while acting as an emollient, leaving your skin soft, supple, and nourished.
Suitable for all skin types, it is clinically tested and dermatologically recommended for stretch marks globally. Apply it twice a day for a minimum period of three months, to see results.
Even-toned skin isn't about chasing perfection; it is about your skin feeling healthy, balanced, and well cared for. Pigmentation and dullness might not vanish overnight, but with consistent care, the right ingredients, and mindful choices, you will start to see a real difference. A little patience, paired with the right mix of skincare, nourishment, and self-care, can take you closer to that radiant, confident glow.

Soap recall: Contaminated products by DermaRite may cause deadly infections, all you need to know

A major soap recall is happening across America over deadly infection risks. DermaRite Industries pulled four types of antiseptic and antimicrobial soaps after finding dangerous bacteria in them. The products could cause 'life-threatening sepsis', a severe body-wide infection, especially when used on open wounds. Though no illnesses are reported yet, the company warns people to stop using these soaps immediately. The problem bacteria is called Burkholderia cepacia complex (Bcc), which lives in soil and water and resists many antibiotics. These medical soaps were sold nationwide and in Puerto Rico, often used in hospitals, nursing homes, and homes for wound care. Health officials say destroying the products is crucial to prevent potential tragedies. The hidden danger targets people with health challenges most. Healthy users might only get skin infections from the contaminated soaps, but immunocompromised people could develop deadly bloodstream infections. Burkholderia cepacia is especially risky for those with cystic fibrosis, lung disease, cancer, or recent surgeries. Symptoms range from nothing to fever, coughing up blood, or severe pneumonia. The FDA explains these bacteria spread easily through contaminated water or products. DermaRite hasn't revealed how the bacteria got into their soaps, but testing confirmed the contamination. Customers should watch for breathing problems or unusual fatigue after using these products. Experts note this recall highlights ongoing quality control issues in medical soap manufacturing. DermaKleen: Antiseptic lotion soap with Vitamin E DermaSarra: Itch-relief soap for irritated skin KleenFoam: Antibacterial foam for handwashing after diaper changes or caring for sick people PeriGiene: Perineal cleanser for sensitive private areas All were sold in plastic bottles online and through medical suppliers. The soaps were meant to protect vulnerable people but now pose serious risks. DermaRite urges businesses and households to check storage areas immediately. Don't donate or resell these products – the company advises destroying them using safety protocols like autoclaving or chemical treatment. Photos of the recalled items are on the FDA's website to help identification. Stop using all recalled products immediately Destroy them following your facility's hazardous material rules Contact DermaRite at (973) 569-9000 x104 or Report any health reactions to the FDA's MedWatch program If you used these soaps on wounds and feel sick, see a doctor right away. Mention the soap recall since Burkholderia infections need specific antibiotics. For extra protection, switch to alternative antiseptics like chlorhexidine-based products while avoiding recalled items. The FDA continues investigating how widespread the contamination is.

This Antioxidant-Packed Juice Can Slow Down Visible Signs Of Ageing, Says Nutritionist

Although ageing is a natural process, following a diet high in antioxidant-rich foods might affect how quickly your body displays signs of ageing, according to nutritionist Anjali Mukerjee. In her recent Instagram post, Anjali offered a simple, high-nutrient juice recipe made from black grapes, pomegranates, and amla as a powerful anti-ageing drink. Nutritionist Anjali Mukerjee shared the anti-ageing juice recipe on her Instagram, which includes: 1 small amla 1 cup of pomegranate 1 cup of black grapes Chat masala to taste Black salt to taste Grate and blend the deseeded amla, and strain it. Juice the black grapes and pomegranate. Mix both juices, add a pinch of chat masala and black salt to taste and serve fresh. Pro tip: For optimal benefits, consume this juice within 20 minutes following extraction. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anjali Mukerjee (@anjalimukerjee) Why this juice works These deep-coloured fruits are full of a potent variety of antioxidants, including lesser-known phytochemicals that scientists think are important for cellular repair, as well as well-known substances like vitamin C, polyphenols, and anthocyanins. These antioxidants combat free radicals, which are unstable chemicals that gradually harm cells, causing wrinkles, decreased skin suppleness, and other ageing symptoms. The Indian gooseberry, or amla, is one of the best sources of vitamin C, which promotes the formation of collagen and keeps skin looking young. Pomegranates are rich in potent antioxidants, ellagic acid and punicalagins, which are substances with anti-inflammatory and skin-protective qualities. Black grapes, which have deep purple skins, are high in resveratrol, a polyphenol that may promote longevity and enhance heart health. This juice is particularly helpful for those who fail to consume enough fruits and vegetables each day. Frequent consumption helps lessen oxidative stress, nourish cells from the inside out, and delay the onset of age spots and fine lines. Although no drink can completely stop the clock, consuming antioxidant-rich drinks like this one, along with a healthy diet, consistent exercise, and adequate sleep, can greatly delay the obvious signs of ageing and promote general well-being. Nutritionist Anjali Mukerjee earlier shared tips to lower "bad" cholesterol (LDL) when statins fail to function. Tips include limiting carbohydrate intake, lowering inflammation by eating properly, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly. One should prioritise root-cause healing over merely using medicine. For more deatils: read here. Disclaimer: This content including advice provides generic information only.
