India to host first global cultural games in New Delhi in December
New Delhi: India will host the first-ever Global Pythonova Pythian Games in the National capital, New Delhi, from December 3–5, 2025. The announcement was made during the '3rd National Executive Council Meeting' of the Pythian Council of India, held in New Delhi under the leadership of Bijender Goel, founder of the Modern Pythian Games and founding secretary general of the International Pythian Council. He was accompanied by Shantanu Agrahari, President, and Siva Kumar, Secretary General of the Pythian Council of India. Inspired by the ancient Pythian Games of Greece—one of the four Pan-Hellenic Games held in honour of Apollo at Delphi—the Modern Pythian Games revive this cultural legacy after nearly 1,630 years. The games, originally focused on excellence in music, poetry, arts, and prophecy, were envisioned anew in 2020 by Goel and formally launched in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Delegates and executive members from various Indian states attended the meeting, engaging in strategic discussions to promote the Pythian Games at the local and global levels. In a press briefing following the meeting, Goel revealed that the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has assured full cooperation in this global cultural initiative. He also shared details of his recent constructive discussions with Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, raising hopes for inclusive participation. Goel announced that the International Delphic Committee (Russia), Ecumenical Delphic Union (Greece), and the Government of Cyprus have officially endorsed the Modern Pythian Movement. 'The ancient Pythian Games were one of the four Panhellenic Games of Greece, dedicated to the god Apollo, and were held in Delphi. These games were a celebration of excellence in art, music, poetry, and prophecy, and served as a major centre for cultural exchange. After nearly 1,630 years, Bijender Goel conceived the idea of the Modern Pythian Games in the year 2020, and it was formally announced in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the movement has spread globally and has become a significant platform dedicated to art, tradition, and cultural diplomacy,' he said. "In a world full of divisions, the Pythian Games offer a global platform for unity through culture," he said. He further added that a centralised franchise model will be introduced for the Pythian Games at the global, national, and local levels, to ensure transparency, accountability, and a streamlined functioning." Shantanu Agrahari, President of the Pythian Council of India, announced that the next National Pythian Games will be held in September/October 2025. He stated, "These national games will serve as an important training ground for Indian artists and participants." He further added, "India's rich cultural heritage and young talent make it a suitable host for global events." Unlike conventional sporting events, the Modern Pythian Games are the world's only multidisciplinary cultural games, celebrating art, culture, heritage, traditional sports, and creative technology under one unified platform. 'In a world divided by differences, the Pythian Games offer a global stage for unity through culture,' said Goel. He also announced a global-to-local franchise model for the games to ensure transparency, accountability, and streamlined operations. The games serve as a complement to the Olympic Games, offering a global stage to disciplines not represented in the Olympics, such as art, heritage, traditional sports, and creative technology. Kumar emphasised that the Indian operations are guided by an international charter and supported by various governments, cultural institutions, and professionals around the world.

Meta rolls out AI-powered video editing across apps and web: How the feature works, eligibility and more
Meta has announced the rollout of a new generative AI video editing feature, now available on the Meta AI app, website, and the Edits app. The tool is aimed at simplifying video editing for users without professional experience, allowing them to transform short-form videos using a selection of pre-set AI prompts. The launch is part of Meta's broader effort to integrate AI-driven content creation tools across its platforms. Inspired by its Movie Gen models, the current offering allows users to apply a variety of transformations to 10-second segments of their videos. The edits can alter elements such as clothing, location, and visual style, offering an accessible entry point for personal and creative video customisation. Users can upload videos directly through the Meta AI app, Edits app, or the website. From there, they can choose from over 50 prompts to apply to their video clip. The transformation options range from stylised effects—like converting footage into a graphic novel or vintage comic book—to atmospheric changes, such as turning a gloomy outdoor scene into a dreamy, soft-focus visual complete with sparkles and colour filters. Another preset allows for a gaming-inspired transformation, adding video game-style visuals and character designs, including neon lighting and battle-themed outfits. The edits are rendered by Meta AI and made available for free for a limited time, although users can only transform up to ten seconds per video during the trial period. Once edited, videos can be shared directly to Meta's social platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, via the Edits and Meta AI apps. The web version also allows for publishing to the Discover feed, expanding the reach of user-generated content within Meta's ecosystem. The company says it has collaborated with content creators to develop prompt styles that resonate with digital audiences. The tool is being positioned not only as a creative outlet for casual users but also as a production aid for social media influencers and video creators looking to streamline their workflows. Available in the United States and more than a dozen other countries, the feature marks Meta's initial foray into consumer-facing AI video editing. According to the company, more advanced functionality is planned for later this year, including the ability to customise video edits using free-form text prompts.

Netflix's 'Titan: The Oceangate Submersible Disaster' footage leaves viewers horrified, netizens call it' death trap'
A video footage shared by Netflix from inside the Titan submersible has left viewers shocked and horrified and has revealed exactly how dangerous the sub which claimed the lives of five people really was. June 18 will mark two years since the Titan submersible tragedy, which claimed the lives of all five people aboard during a deep-sea expedition. The Titan, an experimental vessel built for underwater tourism, was intended to take passengers close to the Titanic wreck for $250,000 each. Among the victims were OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, billionaire adventurer Hamish Harding, businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, a university student, as well as Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet. The catastrophic implosion that caused their deaths captured the world's attention and sparked widespread mourning and debate. The documentary shows a number of shocking moments including exclusive footage showing how Rush had fired one of his senior divers, David Lochridge, for raising health and safety concerns about the submersible, reports Ladbible. Live Events One detail in the documentary series has surprised viewers: a distinct 'popping sound' heard at various moments during footage from inside the Titan submersible. Over the following four days, the world came to know about Titan, the diminutive submersible its charismatic inventor, Stockton Rush, had touted as the key to unlocking deep-sea exploration for the masses. When pieces of the vessel were found at the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean, experts determined Titan had imploded during its descent, likely killing all five of its passengers instantly. The documentary film Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster focuses on the years leading up to the incident that dominated headlines, examining Rush's quest to become the next world-renowned change-maker, and culminating in the doomed underwater endeavor. The documentary film premiered on June 11 on Netflix.
