
David Taylor joins ASI Alliance as Chief Marketing Officer
Taylor takes on the newly created role at a time when the global conversation around artificial intelligence and decentralisation is intensifying. The ASI Alliance, an open-source initiative seeking to advance decentralised artificial general intelligence (AGI) and artificial superintelligence (ASI), stated that Taylor would oversee global marketing efforts in close coordination with product, communications, and ecosystem teams. His responsibilities include delivering initiatives designed to expand the Alliance's mission and increase adoption in emerging markets and developer communities.
The Alliance marks its first anniversary by entering "an ambitious new phase of growth and innovation", according to statements released alongside the appointment. Taylor's background spans the cryptocurrency sector, artificial intelligence, and Web3 technology. He has previously led large-scale marketing campaigns and contributed to teams focused on both strategy and execution, as well as developing approaches tailored to education and responsible innovation in technological spaces.
Leadership experience
Taylor's most recent position was as Chief Marketing Officer at the Cardano Foundation, where he managed brand, marketing, public relations, and communications strategies for the Cardano Foundation and the Cardano blockchain. At Cardano, he played an active role within the global ecosystem and was credited with strengthening the organisation's communications across its multiple audiences.
In a statement, Dr Ben Goertzel, Chief Executive Officer of the ASI Alliance and Chief Scientist at SingularityNET, commented on the appointment. "We are thrilled to welcome David and his global marketing experience to the ASI Alliance. His leadership in navigating the evolving crypto, AI and Web3 ecosystems will be invaluable as we execute the next phases of our roadmap toward beneficial decentralized AGI and ASI."
The Alliance was created when Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, Ocean Protocol, and CUDOS – four projects in decentralised AI and Web3 – joined forces. Through a shared token economy and open governance, the group says it aims to support AGI development that remains democratic and transparent, avoiding centralised control.
Broader context
Taylor's appointment comes as global governments and private sector institutions increase focus on artificial intelligence research and application. Recent policy announcements, such as Donald Trump's USD $70 billion investment plan in AI and energy, are part of a wider trend towards both innovation and competition in the sector.
Goertzel outlined Taylor's role in the Alliance's ongoing activities, stating: "As we move forward to roll out one after another decentralized AI product and build our user base as we move toward our ambitious AGI goals, David will play a critical role in helping us tell our story clearly, credibly and globally."
The coalition of AI-focused organisations within the Alliance claims its structure and coordination are designed to foster open development. Accenture acquires Aristal to boost Southeast Asia banking tech
Accenture has completed the acquisition of Aristal, a Malaysia-based consultancy with expertise in financial services and digital transformation, in an effort to broaden its capabilities across Southeast Asia. This acquisition represents Accenture's first banking-focused purchase in Malaysia and is part of a wider programme to expand its presence in the region's financial services sector. Regional pressure Banks and financial institutions across the Asia-Pacific, including New Zealand, are facing increasing challenges to modernise legacy systems and increase digital adoption, partly in response to changing economic conditions at both the regional and global levels. Founded in 2006, Aristal has provided advisory services in core banking transformation and has led significant IT and business change initiatives for financial institutions in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. Its expertise spans system migrations, regulatory compliance, and post-merger integrations, challenges that many banks in Southeast Asia are actively addressing. "With deep expertise in core banking systems, Aristal has helped banks upgrade outdated platforms, improve operations, and deliver better customer experiences - capabilities that will strengthen Accenture's financial services offerings," said Paul Ng, Financial Services Lead, Southeast Asia at Accenture. "Their experience implementing core banking platforms, designing operating models, and supporting post-merger integration will enhance our ability to help banks across Southeast Asia transform faster and operate more efficiently." Following the acquisition, Aristal's team of 30 professionals will join Accenture's Financial Services practice in Malaysia. This development comes amid a significant increase in online scams, account takeovers, and malware attacks targeting digital content creators, influencers, and online creatives. Rising cyber threats Recent investigations have highlighted a growing threat landscape for creators. According to findings referenced by the company, more than 184 million exposed credentials and passwords have been uncovered, with millions linked to social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. The Global State of Scams 2024 Report further estimated global losses from online scams and fraud to have exceeded USD $1 trillion. The risks associated with such breaches for digital creators are substantial, ranging from loss of access to social accounts to compromised reputations and income streams. Expanded platform coverage Bitdefender Security for Creators extends protection to Facebook and Instagram alongside existing support for YouTube. The solution aims to safeguard content channels as well as devices running Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS through a single setup process that connects both accounts and endpoints. Team protection options for collaborative creators, extending security measures to additional team members such as video editors or designers who have access to managed social media accounts. Account recovery assistance, providing a step-by-step playbook to guide creators through notifying platforms, regaining access, and restoring trust with audiences if an account is compromised.
