Aden – Yemeni Public Prosecution has announced the freezing of assets and prohibition of dealings with 398 individuals, entities, and vessels linked to the Houthi militia.
The decision was revealed during a high-level meeting at the Public Prosecution Office in Aden, chaired by Prosecutor General Judge Qaher Mustafa.
According to the official statement, the measures include 303 individuals, 83 entities, and 12 ships, all identified as part of a broader network supporting terrorist financing.
The action is part of Yemen's implementation of international and national resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 2624 (2022), National Defense Council Resolution No. 1 (2022), and Presidential Leadership Council Resolution No. 8 (2024), which formally designated the Houthi group as a terrorist organization A.
The meeting brought together representatives from law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and financial oversight agencies, all committed to strengthening institutional coordination in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing.
Judge Mustafa emphasized the urgency of transparency and reform, warning that failure to act decisively could lead to economic collapse and undermine the authority of the legitimate government.
This latest move marks a significant escalation in Yemen's efforts to cut off funding sources to armed groups destabilizing the country. Officials also confirmed that six individuals were removed from the sanctions list following legal reviews.

'He would often target websites with low security, gaining kudos in the hacking community for the sheer number of infiltrations. Using one of his many online aliases, Al-Mashriky claimed on one cybercrime forum that he had hacked in to over 3,000 websites during a three month period in 2022.' On 17 March, the man pleaded guilty to nine offences and was sentenced to 20 months' imprisonment at the same court on 15 August. 'Al-Mashriky's attacks crippled the websites targeted, causing significant disruption to their users and the organisations, just so that he could push the political and ideological views of the 'Yemen Cyber Army'.' Deputy Director Paul Foster, head of the NCA's National Cyber Crime Unit, said. 'He had also stolen personal data that could have enabled him to target and defraud millions of people.' 'Cybercrime can often appear faceless, with the belief that perpetrators hide in the shadows and can avoid detection. However, as this investigation shows, the NCA has the technical capability to pursue and identify offenders like Al-Mashriky and bring them to justice.'
