Good Morning Britain host shares concern for co-star as loud bangs heard on air
Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh was forced to address loud bangs heard in Los Angeles during a live report on the ITV breakfast show as Noel Phillips reported live from location
Ranvir Sing had to reassure viewers during the latest episode of ITV breakfast programme Good Morning Britain.
The 47-year-old TV star was in the studio with co-hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid, delivering the latest global news headlines.
They began the day with breaking news from Los Angeles, where protests have reignited, with demonstrators opposing immigration raids clashing with law enforcement for a third day.
Protesters congregating in downtown LA were ordered by police to disperse immediately, following earlier demonstrations that blocked a major city freeway.
National Guard units, deployed by President Donald Trump, resorted to tear gas to disperse the protesters, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Noel Phillips, North America Correspondent for ITV, reported live from LA, with loud bangs audible in the background during his segment.
Addressing the camera, Noel said: "As you can see police are now trying to get these protestors off the streets, Ranvir. We're going to try and bring you more a little later on."
Discussing the unfolding situation, Ranvir clarified: "And just to be clear, my producer was telling me that was fireworks because of course there's several cameras there. Just wanted to make that clear because for you because obviously alarming to hear that kind of sound."
Susanna later checked in with Noel, asking if he was alright as the programme crossed back over to America for the latest updates.
Noel confirmed he was unharmed before delivering an in-depth update on the unfolding situation.
The reporter engaged with locals for his segment, while Richard and Susanna from the studio reminded him to "stay safe" as his report concluded.
In another part of the morning show, host Richard disclosed that he had suffered a double wrist fracture in France over the weekend.
"That looks sore," remarked his colleague Susanna, observing the cast on Richard's wrist.
Richard recounted the incident, saying, "Yeah, it's a double fracture of the wrist. I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday,".
He continued, detailing the accident: "The pavement was loose and it flipped up and it flipped me forward, and I thought, 'Am I gonna win or is gravity gonna win?' And gravity won, and I hit the ground hard. So yeah, I've got a double fracture and we'll see how it goes."

The 1% Club's smiley face brainteaser wipes out a whopping 30 players and leaves Lee Mack gasping 'wow!' - but can YOU solve it within 30 seconds?
A brainteaser on The 1% Club wiped out a whopping 30 players - but can you solve it within 30 seconds? A previous episode of the ITV quiz show, hosted by Lee Mack, saw 100 contestants attempt to win a huge cash prize. The programme's questions were put to the public, with the percentage who got them right determining the difficulty of each round. Aptly, the final question is one that just 1% of the public answered correctly. This time, the 60% question proved to be difficult for quite a few players. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Lee read: 'Have a look at this picture. Are there more happy faces or sad faces?' Contestants were then presented with 18 faces, some with smiles and some sad. Players had 30 seconds to figure out the correct answer, during which Lee quipped: 'This is a tricky one, or it is if you can't count.' The answer was then revealed to be 'happy' as there were eight sad faces and 10 happy. Lee joked: 'Genuinely wow, we lost 30 people on that question!' He then revealed the answer and commented: 'Well, there's 30 sad ones now!' It comes as a previous episode of the ITV quiz show, saw the 70% question, which is supposed to be one of the easier ones to figure out, prove to be tricky for several players. It read: 'What is the difference between these two images?' Alongside the question, two images were displayed of Coronation Street pub, The Rovers Return Inn. Host Lee quipped: 'That's easy this, one's on the left and one's on the right.' The question tripped up three contestants who were knocked out of the game. Lee revealed the answer and pointed out that the name of the pub on the right picture had changed to 'Ravers Return Inn' instead of 'Rovers Return Inn'. The 1% Club airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.

Mum-of-22 Sue Radford flies family back to Disney Florida weeks after spending £50k on the same trip for her birthday
Plus, the staggering price of flights for the bumper family MAGICAL YEAR Mum-of-22 Sue Radford flies family back to Disney Florida weeks after spending £50k on the same trip for her birthday Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) JUST months after parents-of-22 Sue and Noel Radford flew to Florida for Sue's £50,000 bumper 50th birthday trip - the family is back at Disney once more. The Morecambe-based brood has shared snaps from the popular holiday resort, including watching fireworks and enjoying giant slushies. After walking away with some bites, they then caught some fireworks going off in the nearby theme park. The kids then seemed thrilled as they got super-sized slushy drinks to enjoy. This follows the Radfords having a sun-soaked extravaganza in Florida in April, which is estimated to cost them £52,000. Despite telling The Daily Mirror they have been "feeling the pinch" financially, they said they planned to spare no expense on the holiday of a lifetime. Sue and Noel star in Channel 5's 22 Kids and Counting and also earn money from their business Radford's Pie Company. £26,000 flights Sue and her husband Noel not only took their own children to Florida in April, but all of their grandchildren with them too - making the most of the Easter break from school. Sue, 50, and Noel, 54, are parents to Chris, 36, Sophie, 31, Chloe, 29, Jack, 28, Daniel, 26, Luke, 24, Millie, 23, Katie, 22, James, 21, Ellie, 20, Aimee, 19, Josh, 17, Max, 16, Tillie, 15, Oscar, 13, Casper, 12, Haillie, 10, Phoebe, 8, Archie, 7, Bonnie, 6, and Heidie, 5. Sadly the couple's 17th child Alfie was still born on July 6, 2014. All in, the family are thought to have sent a jaw-dropping £26,228 on flights - and that's before the excess charges or any extra baggage. Millie Radford sparks concern of the family feud reigniting as she says she wants to go 'home' during Florida holiday It's not known if the whole family is back out for their second visit. £20k park tickets Based on the cost of a seven-day Disney visit, which would require each guest to hold a 7-Day Magic Ticket for entrance, Sue and Noel could have forked out £20,065 for each of their Florida trips this year. Luckily for Sue and Noel, children under the age of three go free. So some of the children on the trip won't cost a penny to get into the park. The tickets include access to the park and water parks with the eligibility to enter multiple parks per day. Holders will also have the 'memory maker' package which includes unlimited Disney photopass downloads - pictures taken by photographers around the park, on rides and in restaurants. 7 Sue shared how they visited an epic cake shop at Disney during this trip Credit: Instagram 7 The kids seemed thrilled at stocking up on some tasty treats Credit: Instagram £6k accommodation Sue and Noel have spoken about their approach to holiday accommodation previously, while appearing on the This Morning show - they revealed they usually opt for a villa to save costs and ensure the bunch can bunk close together. Last September, they shared an Orlando Villa Tour on their Facebook page to their 944,000 followers. One eagle-eyed viewer recognised the accommodation as similar to a property listed on rental site, Vrbo. The glam Vrbo house sleeps 15 - so Sue and Noel will need to book 3 to comfortably house all 39 travellers. The accommodation costs £300 per night, working out at £2,100 per villa for a week and £6,300 in total for all three. And that's without any food in the villa or out in the parks. 7 Renting holiday accommodation when you have 22 kids certainly doesn't come cheap Credit: Instagram 7 Sue during her first trip to Florida at Easter Credit: Instagram

Love Island's secret sex rules as bosses make jaw-dropping change
As we wait for the new series of Love Island to kick off tonight, the Mirror lifts the lid on the show's secret sex rules as bosses allow sex scenes to be aired for the first time this summer ITV's Love Island has a string of secret sex rules, which the saucy singletons must follow. The new series of the smash-hit dating show, which kicks off tonight, is sure to be one of the steamiest yet after bosses revealed that sex scenes would be aired i n the Hideaway for the first time this summer. The jaw-dropping move has divided viewers, with some saying they don't know want to see what pops up beneath the sheets under the Spanish sun. However, others, think the rule change is just what the new series needs as executive producer Mike Spencer said: "If sex happens, we'll show it. The Hideaway will be open 24 hours. We need to keep the show fresh and exciting." So, as we wait for the new series to launch later when we'll finally be introduced to the class of 2025, here's all the sex rules the contestants must follow, including an outright ban on masturbating... READ MORE: Love Island contestant who replaced axed star admits he's already broken show rules Outright ban on masturbating Before going into the villa, all the Love Island contestants are prepped on what they can and can't do to ensure their strict sexual behaviour guidelines are met. There is an outright ban on masturbating in the villas and despite most of the contestants wearing very little in the show, no one is allowed to get fully naked in front of the cameras as it's a 'public place'. This even applies in the shower. Safety first Safe sex is paramount and each contestant is offered an STI-test before entering the villa. Love Island star Marcel Somerville has said that in his experience, the bosses of the show made a big push for safe sex - adding that anyone going on the show must pass an STI test. Marcel, who said he didn't have sex himself while he was in the villa, told The Mirror that the show does strict testing before people go in the villa, revealing that "quite a few" tests are done before people sign up for the show. To make sure the contestants are practicing safe sex, ITV bosses provide their own brand of condoms which are readily available with up to 200 packets of the contraceptive aids put in the villa at the start of the series. Former contestant, Kaz Crossley, managed to nab a bag of the branded condoms when she was dumped from the villa, sharing a snap of the loot with the caption: " to get my money's worth after being dumped, clearly." Drunk sex is banned Drunk sex – and getting drunk in general – is also banned in the Love Island villa as there is a two-drink limit per night for each Islander. Although the Islanders are given booze during their evening parties, contestants are not allowed to get drunk with an explicit number of drinks given to each contestant. After Andrea-Jane was dumped from the villa during the seventh series of the show, the blonde bombshell lifted the lid on the drinking rules inside the villa. She told Capital FM: 'It is a two-drink limit. And usually, you get your first drink and then you have to wait around three hours until the second one." Couples must see counsellor post-sex Anyone who does have sex in the villa must see a counsellor afterwards and can gain access to the morning after pill if needed. The contestants are also offered therapy when the show ends, with Love Island OG Amy Hart, previously praising producers, telling the Mirror the show 'saved her' with its 'exceptional' level of aftercare. A string of saucy singletons have had sex in the villa, including Jon Clark and Hannah Elizabeth, who 'christened' the villa when the show first aired in 2015 – with Jon declaring it was the 'best night of my life'. Meanwhile, in series two, Olivia and Alex Bowen had sex up to 30 times while Malin Andersson and Terry Walsh couldn't keep their hands off each other - and even did the deed in front of their housemates. The couple bizarrely decided to slide under their bed sheets in the middle of the day while in the middle of a conversation with the other islanders, but it was pretty obvious what they were up to. After dumping Malin, Terry moved on with Emma Jane Woodham who he brazenly had sex with on top of the covers in front of everyone. Speaking afterward in the Beach Hut, Emma admitted her dad wouldn't be impressed with her actions. She said: "Me and Terry had a bit of a kiss and a cuddle when we went upstairs last night. "My pops is very disapproving, so he won't like that very much." * Love Island 2025 starts tonight on ITV at 9pm
