Yahoo9 hours ago
As close friends and family members of the late Hulk Hogan came together to say their final goodbyes to the famous wrestler, some of the most prominent names in sports entertainment, music and podcasting showed up to pay their respects. According to an insider who spoke exclusively to Us Weekly, Hulk (real name Terry Bollea) was honored via a funeral service in Largo, Florida, on Tuesday, August 5. Per photos obtained by TMZ, rocker Kid Rock, WWE superstar and current chief content officer of the organization Triple H, his wife, Stephanie McMahon, and popular podcaster Theo Von were all in attendance. Form CEO Vince McMahon, Ric Flair and Dennis Rodman were also reportedly present for the service. Hulk's wife, Sky Daily, as well as ex-wife Linda Hogan were also in attendance, per additional photos obtained by the outlet. Hogan's funeral service comes one week after the famed wrestler died on July 24 at age 71. According to court docs obtained by Us on July 31, Hogan's cause of death was ruled as acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack. The same report revealed that Hogan had Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a form of cancer that affects white blood cells. It is not publicly known when, if ever, the former WWE star was formally diagnosed. Hulk Hogan's Family and Friends Remember Wrestling Legend During Memorial Service in Florida 'Even In Heaven, He Sold Out Again. The Most Beautiful Funeral I've Ever Attended! EVERYONE Was There," Flair wrote via X on Tuesday. "From @KidRock, To @TripleH, To @VinceMcMahon, To @dennisrodman. The Whole World Showed Up To Pay Respect To The Greatest Of Them All! Rest In Peace Hulkster!' 'That's what has me puzzled because they're saying, 'Oh, he had leukemia," Brooke, 37, said during the Tuesday episode of the radio show Bubba The Love Sponge. 'And I'm like, 'I saw his blood work every time [he had a past surgery].' She continued, 'One doctor, I quote, said, 'His blood is like a 25-year-old's.'' Craig Ambrosio/WWE/Getty Images At the time of publication it is unknown if Brooke attended her father's funeral, as they were estranged at the time of his death. On Tuesday, Brooke wrote via her Instagram Stories, 'Taking our babies to your favorite place today, the beach. We will be celebrating your life and all our good memories while we have our feet in the same saltwater you loved. Until we meet again, daddy.' In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Hogan's eight pallbearers paid special tribute to the star via their attire — black suits featuring bright yellow roses, an apparent ode to the wrestler's iconic bright yellow and red wrestling outfits. Hogan is survived by Sky, who he married in September 2023, his son, Nick Hogan, Brooke and her two children, twins Oliver and Andrew. The Sweet Way Hulk Hogan's Pallbearers Paid Tribute to the Late Wrestler During His Funeral 'He was the most kind, loving and amazing father anybody could ask for,' Nick, 35, wrote via Instagram following his father's death, going on to call him his 'hero.' 'I feel so blessed to have had the greatest dad in the world,' he continued. 'He was not only the best dad but also my mentor and my best friend. He always has been my best friend and I love him and miss him more than I could ever explain.'

Brooke Hogan Explains Why She Chose Not to Attend Dad Hulk Hogan's Funeral: 'People Grieve in Many Ways'

The late WWE superstar was laid to rest in a private funeral in Clearwater, Florida, on Tuesday, Aug. 5 after his death on July 24NEED TO KNOW Brooke Hogan has shared the reasons behind why she attend her late father Hulk Hogan's funeral The wrestling icon was laid to rest in a private funeral in Clearwater, Florida, on Tuesday, Aug. 5 Hulk died on July 24 from a heart attack at the age of 71Brooke Hogan is opening up about why she chose not to attend her late father Hulk Hogan's funeral. The late WWE superstar was laid to rest in a private funeral in Clearwater, Florida, on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 12 days after he died of a heart attack at age 71 on July 24. The service took place at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Clearwater, the city where Hulk, born Terry Gene Bollea, had been living with his wife, Sky Daily. Guests including Kid Rock, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were in attendance, but Brooke — who hasn't been in contact with her father for the last two years — didn't go to the ceremony. Later on Tuesday, Brooke, 37, shared a message on Instagram explaining her decision not to attend, alongside multiple photos showing herself, her husband Steven Oleksy, 39, and their twins Oliver and Molly — whom they welcomed in January 2025 — at the beach. Brooke wrote, "My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn't want one. And although I know people grieve in many ways - and I'm so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew way that made me feel the closest to him." "The only thing missing today was him in is pop up lawn chair watching the waves... and the sunset 💔," she added. The former reality star continued, "Daddy, we honored you in the simplest way that agreed with my soul. We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved." "Molly loved the water. I think she'll be a 'little fish' as you called me. We love you and honor the things that made you so special. Every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby, and brought us closer to you. I pray you are at peace and know how dearly I love you," Brooke continued. She concluded, "Rest in heaven, Daddy ❤️" Brooke also shared a post on her Instagram Stories about taking their babies to Hulk's "favorite place ... the beach" to celebrate him. "We will be celebrating your life and all our good memories while we have our feet in the same saltwater you loved. Until we meet again, daddy," Brooke added alongside a white love heart emoji and a throwback photo of herself and her dad. Brooke's message came after she appeared in a guest spot on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show earlier on Tuesday, questioning why an autopsy hadn't been performed on her late father before he was cremated. 'I do think it's weird that no autopsy was performed, because yes, you can have a heart attack but what was the reason for the heart attack is the question,' Brooke told her father's ex-best friend on the podcast. 'Because he was up and doing breathing exercises and stuff. That means that the surgery on his heart was a success and it was working," she added. Hulk suffered from atrial fibrillation, a common disorder that causes irregular heart beats, and also had a history of leukemia at the time of his death, according to medical records obtained by PEOPLE. Brooke said her father 'had so many ablations and cardioversions' in the past, which were interventions done to treat his symptoms and to prolong his life. 'I remember back then praying, 'Dear God, please don't let this be the day my dad dies,' ' she recalled. 'But he got through all of it.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. After Hulk's death, Brooke paid tribute to him with a lengthy, emotional message on Instagram, which included, 'When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us." "... I know he's at peace now, out of pain, and in a place as beautiful as he imagined. He used to speak about this moment with such wonder and hope. Like meeting God was the greatest championship he'd ever have," she added. Read the original article on People

Pat McAfee calls out 'bum a-- suits' at ESPN while congratulating network's WWE deal

Pat McAfee is happy to see ESPN and the WWE get a historic deal done to broadcast premium live events. But the ESPN host called out some employees within his own company in the process. McAfee posted on X congratulating ESPN and WWE on finalizing a deal, which was announced Wednesday. "Great to see 2 powerhouses of sports and entertainment come together," McAfee wrote before taking his shot. "I assume all the mid level, powerless, bum a--suits at ESPN will attempt to muddy this somehow (out of context leaks/ignorant anonymous opinions/etc.) but, in the end.. this agreement will outlive the dinosaurs currently guarding desks in Bristol and this deal will be great for ESPN. "Cheers to the future." McAfee has had issues in the past with ESPN executives, which could've led to his jab. He accused Norby Williamson on air, saying the longtime executive tried to "sabotage" his show in 2024. Williamson ended up moving on to FanDuel Sports Network after spending 40 years at the "Worldwide Leader in Sports." The WWE-ESPN deal has been reported to be worth $1.6 billion over five years. This will allow ESPN to broadcast some of the most anticipated WWE events each year, like WrestleMania, Summer Slam and the Royal Rumble as part of the pro wrestling giant's direct-to-consumer service launching in late August. McAfee is a big wrestling fan, having served as a commentator for the WWE. However, he stepped away from that earlier this year due to a busy schedule. But he is clearly aware of the deal, and he has never shied away from speaking his mind even after joining ESPN on a five-year, $85 million deal. "I don't got a motherf---ing boss," he said in the past. ESPN made another landmark deal in the world of sports. The network announced Tuesday it acquired the NFL Network in a deal that gave the league a 10% equity stake in ESPN. The deal includes the NFL's linear RedZone Channel, NFL Fantasy and more.

Charlamagne Tha God Blesses Donald Trump With Donkey of The Day Following Truth Social Rant

Source: Getty Images / Charlamagne Tha God / Donald Trump We all knew it was coming. Charlamagne Tha God clapped back at Donald Trump by giving him 'Donkey of the Day.' It didn't take long, but on Monday, Charlamagne Tha God kicked off The Breakfast Club's work week by responding to Felon 47. Before he went in on Trump, he started off the Donkey of the Day segment by blasting YG's Donald Trump protest record 'FDT' before accusing the current occupant of the White House of using him and other ridiculous things to distract from important issues after Trump called the radio host a 'racist sleazebag.' We care about your data. See our privacy policy. The Breakfast Club host pointed out in his retort that he didn't bring up race once while he was blasting Trump's 'big beautiful bill,' which the radio host, born Lenard McKelvey, admitted he would benefit from because of his tax bracket, but notes will harm millions of Americans. Charlamagne also slammed Trump and Homeland Security for terrorizing, detaining, and deporting lawfully residing immigrants while contributing, and also his unjust firing of Labor Statistics Chief Erika McEntarfer after she just did her job, reported on the terrible job numbers. While everyone was happy to hear Charlamagne call out Trump again, some folks didn't appreciate him still 'both-siding' the conversation by bringing up Joe Biden in his takedown of Orange Mussolini. 'Here's my issue he was playing contrarian and both sides so hard that the orange man used him in one of his ads. He directly has blood on his hands so Lenard put himself & worse others into the current state of affairs,' a post on X, formerly Twitter. Fair. You can see more reactions below.
