Jazz: In the world of jazz, Diana Krall is not only a trailblazing female singer/pianist, she's the only artist to debut eight albums at No. 1 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. She's won two Grammy Awards and has seven multi-platinum albums.
Some of her prominent songs are her versions of the Burt Bacharach and Hal David song 'Walk On By' made popular by Dionne Warwick, her duet with Michael Bublé on Gilbert O'Sullivan's 'Alone Again (Naturally)' and the Joni Mitchell hit 'A Case of You.'
Krall will perform on Saturday at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa.

Dance: Experience an unforgettable night of music and movement at this Dance Mojave show dubbed 'The Planets.' Tickets to this outdoor dance performance — which takes place both Friday and Saturday — are $30 per car, so pack as many friends and family members into your ride as you'd like, then head over to Sky's the Limit Observatory and Nature Center in Twentynine Palms to see the show and experience the center's telescopes afterwards. The 75-minute performance is set to Gutav Holst's suite as well as original music arranged by Jeremie Levi Samson. "Planets" features choreography by local dancers, and each piece is inspired by a different planet, from Mercury through Neptune (as well as the Asteroid Belt and Pluto).

Tribute: When The Doors started playing in 1965 at venues around Los Angeles, lead singer Jim Morrison's stage presence was viewed as both alluring and provocative, along with the blend of blues, electric jazz and rock 'n' roll. In 1967, The Doors' self-titled debut album was a hit, and the band continued to push the bar higher with every release until Morrison's untimely death in 1971.
Wild Child, a tribute to The Doors, will perform on Friday in The Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
If you go: 7 p.m. Friday, The Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway. Admission is free. fantasyspringsresort.com/rock-yard/

Brian McKnight slams his family members over estranged son Niko's death: ‘May God have mercy on your soul'
Brian McKnight broke his silence on his estranged son Niko's death with a scathing message about his family members. After Niko died from cancer at age 32 last week, Brian, 55, released a statement on Instagram Tuesday where he bashed his brother, Claude, and his ex-wife and Niko's mom, Julie, who both shared the news of Niko's passing on social media. 11 Brian McKnight in an Instagram video. brianmcknight23/Instagram 'A big big thanks to Claude Mcknight's tasteless and self aggrandizing announcement on TikTok, that frankly was not his to make, in my opinion, he inserted himself and used Niko's death as an opportunity, instead of letting him pass with respect and dignity,' said Brian. 'It has instead turned into a circus, a mockery of a life now lost, making this tragedy into a reality show type drama,' he added. 11 Niko McKnight. The 'Back at One' singer said that after Niko died, he and his family flew to Maui 'and had a private memorial remembering him, and all the good times.' 'The last time he and I spoke, we offered him all the help we could provide, we had the number one oncologist on deck for him and a team of specialists on standby with private care in our home,' Brian claimed of his son, adding, 'He and his mother declined. The door of communication was open and remained open until his death.' 11 Brian McKnight with Julie McKnight at the 2001 Grammy Awards. 'There is great comfort in knowing God knows the TRUTH and the totality of the WHOLE story,' Brian said. 'I am truly thankful for the immense peace God has given me. I've left everything in HIS hands. I, have a clear conscience. The only judgement that matters is God's.' 11 Brian McKnight with his family at the 27th American Music Awards in 2000. Thanks to those of you have known The truth from the beginning and haven't let untruths, half truths or slander, prejudice your opinion.' On May 30, both Claude and Julie announced in separate social media posts that Niko died after a two-year battle with cancer. 11 Niko McKnight takes a mirror selfie. Claude also addressed the 'family drama' in his TikTok video, telling fans, 'I don't know exactly what was going on there. I know what I've seen. I know what I've heard from all parties involved and I try not to judge.' 'I just try to be as loving to each person as I can be because apparently there's so much hurt going on — or was so much hurt going on that a lot of things didn't get resolved,' Claude added. 11 Claude McKnight in a selfie. The insider added that Niko 'was surrounded by an abundance of love and support from those who truly mattered,' including his mother, his older brother, Brian McKnight Jr., his wife, Carla, and other extended family members. Brian has seven children, including one biological child and two stepkids with his wife, Leilani Mendoza. He's been estranged from his four eldest kids — including Niko — and even called them a 'product of sin' in April 2024. 11 Julie McKnight with her sons Niko and Brian Jr. Instagram/itsjuliemcknight 11 Brian McKnight with his wife Leilani. brianmcknight23/Instagram 'In order to live a life that you love, you have to get rid of the evil and the negativity — even if that evil and negativity is related [to you],' he said last year in an Instagram video. Niko slammed his father's comments at the time, and said on behalf of his siblings, 'They don't deserve this outright disrespect. Hate us all day. You don't get to be a piece of s–t forever and still skate by with all that we know.' 11 Brian and Niko McKnight. Instagram/itsjuliemcknight Niko revealed his cancer diagnosis in January 2024. 'Your boy got the big C,' he wrote on Instagram at the time. 'it's beeen one hell of a ride so far but things are looking better now than they were before so cheers to that.' Influential ‘80s singer makes first public appearance in 8 years
Iconic Irish singer Enya spends most of her time in her massive £98 million ($131 million) Victorian castle near Dublin. However, the 'Only Time' singer ditched her mostly reclusive lifestyle for a rare public appearance — the first in eight years. Enya, 64, was spotted when she attended a wedding at Drumhalla House in Donegal, Ireland on May 16, according to a Facebook post from the Donegal Dancers. 'What a honour it was to perform at Sean and David's wedding last night in @drumhallahouse," the post read. 'There may be a couple familiar faces in the first pic,' it read. 'Some of you may know them as the World Famous Clannad & ENYA. What a privilege to have them in the crowd last night.' Enya was last seen in public when she attended the Grammy Awards in 2017, The Sun reported. Reddit fans expressed their excitement to see the singer in public after so long. 'She looks great after another decade! And her outfit, of course, is totally Enya coded,' one user commented. Another user said the singer 'looks so lovely here,' but added, 'girl drop the mixtape already omg it's been 10 years.' With more than 80 million albums sold worldwide, Enya is the best-selling Irish solo artist and second-best-selling music act from Ireland overall behind rock band U2. After achieving initial success in her home country, Enya became a worldwide sensation through her international hit single 'Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)' off her 1988 sophomore album 'Watermark.' The vocalist released the multi-million-selling albums 'Shepherd Moons,' 'The Memory of Trees,' and 'A Day Without Rain' in the following decade. The latter project was supported by its lead single 'Only Time,' which reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2001. Enya's subsequent releases included 'Amarantine' in 2005, 'And Winter Came...' in 2008 and 'Dark Sky Island' in 2015. The singer has not put out her own music ever since.
