Once again, man-of-the-moment Jamie Laing lies at the heart of it, this time alongside his pregnant wife, Sophie Habboo.
For the duo stand accused of "snaking" their one-time castmates and "hijacking" a money-spinning deal with Disney+.
Six weeks ago the giant American streamer breathlessly announced the couple's new docuseries, charting their "no holds barred whirlwind journey" to parenthood.
Certainly it has been a whirlwind journey for the popular pair's ex-colleagues, Louise Thompson, Millie Mackintosh, Hugo Taylor and Ryan Libby who, just weeks previously, had thought they, too, were in on the deal.
Indeed, according to a source, they had already started filming the project.
Instead, they've been brutally culled from the planned series featuring the three couples and their glamorous showbusiness lives.
They are, it is fair to suggest, furious.
A disgruntled pal tells me: "They had all been signed to the top secret Disney project, and then Jamie snaked them, is what we're being told...
"They had all signed up, and even started filming on the project, with Disney keen to build on its reality TV collection.
"But then Jamie and Habs got pregnant. Disney agreed the focus should be on them alone because their podcast is going great guns, they've been given a Radio 1 show and Jamie's ultra marathon efforts endeared him to the nation.

"The other four were cut out, and left high and dry.
"Beyond that, they had turned down filming for Beyond Chelsea (the spin-off MIC show) so have actively lost additional money as well as, obviously, the original six-figure deal.
"They're absolutely livid and feel they've been snaked. There is huge animosity and it is all incredibly awkward - not least because Chelsea isn't a huge place so they are bound to bump into one another in bars and shops. It's pretty explosive."
'LEFT HIGH AND DRY'
News of this latest drama follows the feud between Jamie, 36, and his erstwhile best mate, Spencer Matthews.
The reality stars have been friends since they were aged 15, and at school together.
In 2023 Jamie - heir to the McVitie's fortune - failed to invite Spencer and wife Vogue Williams to the London part of the wedding.
The previous year only Spencer had attended their Spanish nuptials where lurid rumours spread about goings-on with Kate Moss 's little sister, Lottie: claims Spencer vehemently denies.
The model later admitted she 'partied' with Spencer, 37, but has denied hooking up with him after videos alleging it were viewed on social media platform TikTok over 111 million times.
Whatever the truth - and there is no suggestion of any impropriety - relations have decidedly thawed in the interim and Spencer unfollowed his best mate on Instagram.

In March Jamie ran more than 150 miles across five days for Comic Relief, raising an astonishing £2.2m for the charity.
Whilst he collapsed into his loving wife's arms at the end of the ordeal, Spencer was conspicuous by his absence and failed to acknowledge the feat publicly.
Pregnant Sophie, 30, and her presenter husband, announced the happy news of their pregnancy in June, and revealed their hugely successful Newlyweds Podcast will be renamed Nearly Parents.
Three weeks later, Disney+ announced their new show, Jamie and Sophie: Raising Chelsea, alongside details of The Rooneys fly-on-the-wall show and their re-boot of Blind Date.
In a press release, the excited couple gushed: 'For nearly a decade, we've brought audiences along the highs and lows of our personal and professional lives through TV, radio, social media and our podcasts.
"It's such an honour to now partner with the incredible teams at Disney+ and Dorothy St Pictures to bring our next chapter to viewers across the globe. Navigating our lives with a baby on the way has opened up a whole new stage of our relationship – we can't wait to give you a front row seat!'
A spokesperson for the couple declined to comment.

The comedian attended the party last minute as Jimmy Carr 's plus one, following a boozy night at Oasis' Wembley gig. Rob, who had enjoyed several drinks beforehand, found himself partying with rock legends like Ronnie Wood at swanky Chelsea nightclub The Rex Rooms. Speaking on the Parenting Hell podcast, he shared: 'It was a tiny little back room and Mick Jagger was there. 'Obviously, a lot of his ex-wives and children from his ex-wives. There was Mariella Frostrup. Someone Guinness (Lulu), this sort of like fashion lady. She looked like Lady Gaga. Sacha Baron Cohen. Ronnie Wood. 'It was really nice. They were really chatty and hospitable. The music was quite loud. I said hello to Mick Jagger. I didn't properly chat to him because there was another separate room that had him in it with Sacha Baron Cohen.' Rob continued: 'I was chatting to Ronnie Wood and his wife, Sally, who are lovely. 'Then I was like, I'm too p***ed to be here. I was so p***ed. I've had six pints of lager, two espresso martinis, and I'd say a bottle and a half of rose, and just been to the best gig of my life. 'And I'm stood wearing a Stone Island anorak with a vodka and soda after being on a motorbike chatting to Ronnie Wood and Sally Wood and Jimmy Carr. And I'm just talking absolute s****.' Attempting to make a swift exit Rob headed for the door, but was helped on his way by four security guards. 'I got like frog marched out by four people that were like holding on to me,' he laughed. After Noel and Liam Gallagher wrapped up their first London show in 16 years, the Gallagher offspring including Lennon, 25, and Gene, 24, headed to The Rex Rooms to celebrate.
