Harry Redknapp's £5m Sandbanks mansion targeted by hammer-wielding burglars
The break-in took place last Friday while the couple were away — with the former Spurs and West Ham manager reportedly attending a function and Sandra in London at the time.
According to The Sun, masked intruders used a sledgehammer and other tools to force their way through the front door of the luxury gated property. The burglars were caught on CCTV, though it remains unclear how many were involved.
Sources said the gang appeared to have specifically targeted the Sandbanks-based home, with speculation they may have used floorplans found online from property listings, as the mansion is currently up for sale.
Police have not confirmed the value of the items stolen, but it is understood the burglars made off with jewellery belonging to Mrs Redknapp.
The source said: 'It was clearly organised. The raiders must have known the house was empty
'The criminals would only have to keep watch on the property and break in once the coast was clear, knowing the full layout of the house in advance.'
A spokesperson for Mr Redknapp told The Sun that Mr Redknapp did not 'want to make a fuss', leaving it as a 'matter for the police.'
Dorset Police has confirmed the force is looking for the thieves.
The couple have lived in the home since 2021. They are planning on moving to another villa in the Sandbanks beach resort area, which is currently under construction.
The Sandbanks is one of the UK's most expensive areas to buy a home, according to Rightmove.
Asking prices in the area sit at around three times more expensive than the national average of £378,240.
Other residents include interior designer Celia Sawyer and cricketer Sir Geoffrey Boycott. The former was victim to an attempted burglary in May.
The Standard reported earlier this week that Redknapp's wife Sandra had been hospitalised. Details of her condition have not been disclosed.
The pair have been married for more than 57 years and have shared their love story in their joint 2022 memoir titled 'When Harry Met Sandra: Our Story'.

In her impact statement, she told the court: "The incident ruined my life. I will never be the same person again. I am having to start my life all over again. The police said Johnson, of Cranberry Close, Northolt, had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap and was sentenced to five years and four months. Investigation under way into ‘unexplained' death of 13-year-old girl
The death of a 13-year-old girl in Huddersfield is being treated as 'unexplained', police have said. Officers were called to a flat on Sheepridge Road, in the West Yorkshire town, on Monday night following a report a girl was unresponsive. She died later in hospital, West Yorkshire Police confirmed. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and rape and remains in custody. West Yorkshire Police said in a statement: 'Police were called by the ambulance service to an address on Sheepridge Road, Huddersfield at 11.36pm on Monday August 11 to a report that the teenage girl was unresponsive. 'The 13-year-old was taken to hospital where she sadly died in the early hours of Tuesday morning. 'A 16-year-old boy, from Huddersfield, was arrested on suspicion of murder and rape, remains in police custody. 'A post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday (Wednesday) which concluded the girl's death was unexplained pending further investigation.' Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson said 'We are continuing to conduct a number of inquiries today following the death of a 13-year-old girl following an incident at a flat on Sheepridge Road. 'A post mortem was not able to determine how she died, and we continue to treat her death as unexplained at this time, pending more inquiries. 'Those inquiries are complex and are likely to be lengthy as we work to fully understand the circumstances of the girl's death. 'Specially trained officers are supporting her family at this time.' The force confirmed the 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of another offence of rape relating to a 16-year-old girl from a separate incident, elsewhere in the Kirklees district.
