In Superman , there's a moment where Lois Lane visits the still-under-construction Hall of Justice to recruit the Justice Gang and help free Superman from Lex Luthor's containment cell.
During that scene, we catch a glimpse of this jaw-dropping mural. The artwork features some deep-cut DC characters, including Wildcat, Super-Chief, Shining Knight, Gunfire, Atomic Knight, Vibe, Dr. Fate, Freedom Beast, Black Pirate, Dolphin, and Amethyst.
Gunn teased this big reveal during a recent interview, saying:
"There's an iconic scene with a huge, huge mural in the background that tells you the story of metahumans in the DCU. And that's going to be really, really fun when we release those images to the public."
While fans have seen leaked snippets before, Gunn has now officially shared the full mural on social media. It's a striking piece of DC lore that not only enriches the world-building in Superman but also sets the stage for the future of the DCU.
The director made it clear that this mural wasn't just thrown together. It's loaded with intentional details and Easter eggs. Gunn explained:
"Oh, there was a ton of thought put into it. A ton of thought," he said when asked about the mural's significance. "Not necessarily specifically see all of them. But yes, some of them we already have in the works in different things in different ways."
So, while not every character featured on the wall will make the jump to live action anytime soon, Gunn confirmed that some are already slated for upcoming DCU projects.

In an Emmys first, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen will together receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award. The Hollywood golden couple, who will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary in October, will jointly receive the honor, which recognizes awardees' 'extraordinary' philanthropic activism and efforts, according to a news release. Usually handed out to individuals, it's a milestone that the couple will mark together during the Emmys telecast in September. 'Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen have long used their voices – and their hearts – to champion causes that uplift the planet and its people,' Cris Abrego, chair of the Television Academy, said in a statement Wednesday. 'The Television Academy is proud to honor their extraordinary legacy of service with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.' 'Cheers' star Danson cofounded the American Oceans Campaign in 1987 to bring attention to the life-threatening hazards the ocean faces due to the oil spills and pollution. Warner Bros. to layoff 52 people in Motion Picture Group
Layoffs are hitting the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, reducing its staff by 52 people, according to an internal memo to staff Wednesday and a letter sent to the state Employment Development Department. The job cuts, which will impact marketing, distribution, production, strategy, operations and theater ventures, are part of a larger restructuring at Warner Bros. Discovery that began earlier in the year. Part of the restructuring includes a focus on breaking down the barrier between U.S. and international divisions in marketing and distribution in favor of a 'fully global structure,' the memo announcing the layoffs said. 'Adapting how we work often calls for evolution, and the future of how we run this business has required us to make some very difficult decisions,' Motion Picture Group chairmen Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy jointly wrote in the internal memo reviewed by The Times. 'In the coming weeks and months, we will work with leaders around the world to shape and implement this global operating model in a way that reflects local needs and realities,' the memo stated . A letter sent to the state Employment Development Department confirmed 52 employees will be laid off, starting on Oct. 4. Warner Bros. Discovery is burdened with billions in debt, a vestige of Discovery's takeover of WarnerMedia from AT&T three years ago. Since then, the company has restructured and cut thousands of jobs, and announced it will divide its assets into two separate publicly traded companies. In January, leaders in the film division — veteran marketing chief Josh Goldstine and international film distribution head Andrew Cripps — left the company in a shake up its senior ranks after some 2024 titles underperformed in the box office. The studio has had more success at the box office this year, with 'A Minecraft Movie,' 'Sinners' and 'Superman' each topping the charts. The new cuts come just days after Warner Bros. Discovery announced additional details about its corporate split, saying the separate entities will be called Warner Bros. and Discovery and enumerating the properties that will fall under each separate company.
