Staring at a tough schedule for the 2025 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles know they are going to get every team's best shot as they look to defend their Super Bowl LIX victory.
As for the teams that they beat along the way while on that journey, they are going to want their revenge. The former NFL lineman Willie Colon recently stated that the Los Angeles Rams will be one of the Eagles' biggest threats next season—and he laid out two key reasons why that is.
"Not because of their offense, but because of their defense. We watched this team go against the Philadelphia Eagles and rack up seven sacks against this All-World offensive lines," Colon stated on FS1's Breakfast Ball.
.@markschlereth explains why Sean McVay is such a good HC:
'There are two types of people: people who energize a room when they walk in and then energize a room when they walk out… That guy is as sharp as any coach in the National Football League.' pic.twitter.com/uwASvMOz2d — Breakfast Ball (@BrkfstBallOnFS1) July 10, 2025
"When you look at the Rams right now, they put the whole world on notice, even with the age of Matthew Stafford. They almost beat the Eagles with 1:47 in the game if they didn't have two mental mistakes on the offensive line."

The Rams weren't among the strongest teams in the sacks category last year, posting 38 on the season, which ranked them 21st in the NFL. But against the Eagles, they managed to win the sack battle during their Divisional Round playoff game back in January. On the other hand, LA struggled to get to Jalen Hurts during their regular-season battle in November, posting just one sack as a team.
Outside of the defensive argument, Colon pointed to the return of Matthew Stafford and the welcoming addition of Davante Adams as an obvious reason to believe LA will be a bigger threat in 2025.

More"When you talk about the Rams right now, they are the biggest threat because now they have a Davante Adams, who is happy!" Colon added.
"We watched this guy in two uniforms cry and pretty much tell the whole world that he wants out. He's home now. He's home with Matthew Stafford, he believes in a coach that believes in him. And he's with a confident football team."

Adams established himself as one of the elite players at the wideout position during his run with Aaron Rodgers on the Green Bay Packers.
He had some nice flashes during his time on the Las Vegas Raiders, even teasing a career-high in receiving yards in 2022, but he forced his way out the next season to reunite with Rodgers on the New York Jets. It's safe to say that no flames were reignited in the Empire State. Stafford and Adams will attempt to make magic in LA.
Will it be enough for the Rams to ultimately challenge the Eagles as their No. 1 contender? An argument was certainly made, but LA's recent record against the Eagles doesn't help them.
They were close to winning that snowy playoff game back in January, but the Eagles took the cake and then some. While the Week 12 matchup in LA is often overlooked, the Eagles proved to be the superior bunch as they defeated the Rams 37-20 in their own house.
Both teams made notable changes in the offseason, which will play a role in their potential progressions or regressions. We won't have to wait too long to see how they match up, as the Rams will visit the Eagles on September 21.

Raiders sign Kolton Miller to 3-year, $66 million extension, AP source says

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Kolton Miller, one of the NFL's top left tackles, signed a three-year, $66 million extension with the Las Vegas Raiders, with $42.5 million guaranteed, a person with knowledge of the contract said Wednesday. That person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the terms were not announced. The Raiders announced only an extension has been signed. Miller, the 15th overall pick of the 2018 draft out of UCLA, has been one of the NFL's top left tackles. He started all 17 games last season, allowing quarterback pressures on 9.8% of passing plays, ninth lowest among tackles with at least 600 snaps. He also has been penalized 2.8% of all snaps since 2018, second lowest among all tackles over that time. Miller entered training camp with just one year left on his contract, but decided to practice rather than hold out. 'I want to be a Raider for life,' Miller said last month during minicamp. 'I love it here. I don't want to go anywhere else. I only know one way to do it, and that's showing up getting better each day.' ___ AP NFL:

Raiders sign LT Kolton Miller to three-year, $66 million extension

HENDERSON, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders signed left tackle Kolton Miller to an extension Wednesday, the team announced. The new deal is for an additional three years and $66 million, $42.5 million of which is guaranteed, according to team and league sources. Miller, 29, was entering the final season of an extension he signed in 2021. There was no guaranteed money left on the deal, and he was set to make about $12.3 million in 2025, which would rank 15th among left tackles. He briefly held out during OTAs in search of a new contract but reported before missing any practice time. 'I want to be a Raider for life,' Miller said last month. 'I love it here. I don't want to go anywhere else. I only know one way to do it, and that's showing up and getting better each day.' Bolstering the blind side. 📰 — Las Vegas Raiders (@Raiders) July 31, 2025 Now, Miller has the long-term security he was looking for from the franchise. For the Raiders, the timing makes sense considering how the left tackle market has taken another jump this year. Left tackles Ronnie Stanley (Baltimore Ravens), Dan Moore (Tennessee Titans), Jake Matthews (Atlanta Falcons), Bernhard Raimann (Indianapolis Colts) and Rashawn Slater (Los Angeles Chargers) have all signed contracts with an average annual value of $20 million or more this year. If Miller had a strong season in 2025, he'd likely be substantially more expensive next offseason. Advertisement That said, Miller is coming off a bumpy 2024. After missing four games due to a shoulder injury in 2023, he had offseason surgery last year. At the start of the season, he clearly wasn't himself. While he improved as the year went on, it wasn't a campaign that met his typical standard. In signing him to an extension, the Raiders are betting that he'll return to form. It might've cost them a few extra million, but the new Raiders front office wanted to get to know Miller before committing to him long term. After watching him practice in OTAs and early in training camp and being around him in meetings — not to mention seeing all of the money spent at his position — they decided it was time. 'Once guys get to the end of their deal, it gets more expensive,' general manager John Spyrek said in March of a potential Miller extension. 'If you can find guys that want to do a deal and it makes sense, then you do it. … I'm big into knowing the person before we start doling out huge contracts.' This will be Miller's eighth season with the Raiders. The 2018 first-round pick out of UCLA has been durable — he's missed just seven games in his career — and has consistently played at an above-average level. This is an extension that makes sense for both sides.

3 Standouts from Day 7 of Chicago Bears training camp

Chicago Bears training camp is in full swing ahead of the 2025 regular season. Under new head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears are preparing a return to relevancy with important practices and meetings at Halas Hall. The starters, such as quarterback Caleb Williams, wide receivers Rome Odunze and DJ Moore, and defensive linemen Grady Jarrett and Montez Sweat, will hone their skills as they adjust to a new system. Rookies such as tight end Colston Loveland, receiver Luther Burden III, tackle Ozzy Trapilo, and defensive tackle Shemar Turner will look to hit the ground running ahead of their first season. And depth players like offensive lineman Doug Kramer, defensive end Dominique Robinson, and safety Jonathan Owens will try and hang on to a roster spot with competition nipping at their heels. Following every Bears' training camp practice, we at Bears Wire will highlight a select number of players who stood out during the day. On Wednesday, the Bears had a much lighter practice and took the pads off, but we still saw a few players make big-time plays: 1. WR Luther Burden Rookie Luther Burden got off to a slow start due to injuries and missing play details, but he showed why he was such a highly regarded receiver coming out of the 2025 NFL Draft. Burden had his best day of camp yet, catching a pass in between two defenders from Williams on a crossing route, and made a spectacular catch in the end zone, though his feet didn't land in bounds, according to 670 The Score's Chris Emma. Still, those are the types of plays fans envisioned when Burden was selected in the second round. There was plenty of concern about his status, but it's safe to say he's on the right track now that he's back on the field. 2. QB Case Keenum It wasn't a stellar day for the quarterbacks overall, but veteran Case Keenum found some opportunities to make plays with the second-string offense. Keenum had two touchdowns during 11-on-11s, finding tight ends Stephen Carlson and Durham Smythe for touchdowns, according toDan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune. Both players were wide open, as Zack Pearson of Bear Report notes. The quarterback has to make the throws, though, and Keenum delivered in both instances. 3. CB Kyler Gordon It's the summer of Kyler Gordon, and we're all living in it. The young cornerback has been praised by his new coaches from the start this offseason; he signed a contract extension that will make him one of the highest-paid slot defenders in the league, and he should be a valuable chess piece in defensive coordinator Dennis Allen's system. The best part? Gordon has been healthy throughout training camp up to this point. And when he does that, he makes plays like the one he had with receiver Olamide Zaccheaus on Wednesday. Gordon flew in to break up an on-target pass intended for Zaccheaus, diving at the last possible second, showing off that skill set that has Bears coaches excited.
